Uber owes me $187 and maybe every other driver in New York too.

  • I've earned 8 hours of sick time but both times Uber has paid me the minimum. Yet, I know I've earned more. And worse, Uber won't show me my active time nor will they show me their calculations.

Great video! We need transparency. As Matt suggests - weights & measures.

I did a ride today from LAX to Disneyland and it only paid $33.
It used to be a $50 trip for an hour of work. Damn !

Minus the gas, wear on the tires, brakes, miles added to the car, and that's just one way. Long trips are not worth it anymore, the longer the trip the less you make per mile.

They are for sure taking from drivers. I have pictures in my phone of trip costs and at the same time showing passenger it's busier than normal, yet the driver get lower than normal pay for exact ride. The driver map show no surges and either 3 or 4 $ or no gray but the passenger is paying 3 times the normal.

Taxi like regulations must be applied on Uber/Lyft, a rate card with base fare and cap on the numbers of vehicle in each area.vehicles must be required to go through a regular inspection. With the present pay structure no one can keep the vehicles roadworthy anymore.

Levi, Uber is the least transparent company in the world. Unfortunately they don’t give a rat’s ass about you when they should consider you an asset not a liability. Recently I hit a dead end with them when they failed to pay me a cancellation fee from a passenger who didn’t show up and promised me more money to wait longer before I cancelled the ride.

So now they are giving minimum wage they are hiding your active time? I’ve been doing good since all this happened. It makes me not want to do rideshare anyone. I’m hearing too much information that is so negative about these rideshare apps!

Things that make you go... hmmmmm. Business cards!
Dara already told the world that their greatest threat is Indepemdent Contractors and car ownership. Yet, drivers still fall for the deception that they are independent contractors and Uber doesn't treat drivers like independent contractors, and now Uber has cut deals with state governments to give drivers half-ass employee benefits and a minimum wage which can't even be transparent now, even in Levi's video. Who can live on minimum wage these days? Did drivers expect to get paid over $26/hour for just being on the app and not taking any rides that would bring in money to cover the $26/hour? The riders.
Who pays for the sick leave?
      The riders.
Who pays for the arbitration center that protects drivers against rider complaints before they go to actual arbitration?
      The riders.
If the demand for drivers is dropping because the riders can't afford all the state legislators' negotiations with Uber/Lyft, increasing their fares to now pay for a minimum wage for all drivers who wanted a minimum wage, well, it looks like everybody got what they wanted. So what is the minimum wage in New York, again?
What did the law say? Dara already explained in his video with Morning Brew Daily that he plays Dungeons & Dragons with his kids. That's a game where you can change the rules at any time. So it looks to me that Uber just changed the rules again, and the riders will have to pay more if New York contests what drivers are making and how they are making it. Watch Super Pumped (Season 1- 7 episodes). It was released for tv in 2022. Read Uberland by Alex Rosenblat, published in 2018.
      Not much has changed.
But everyone knew what an employee was (and still is), and everyone knew what an independent contractor was (and still is) before Uber was invented.
      E V E R Y O N E.
If you're an employee, stop whining.
If you're an independent contractor, start acting like it.
Throw their bad faith contract right back in their face. The riders are doing it, more and more, too!
And tell your riders to check out The Mic Drop BBQ channel.
      We the 300!

I have brought this exact situation to Uber at least 6 times and they keep telling me I’m wrong. I even sent them proof. I showed them a trip that acquired over 40 minutes of on time and they only gave me 14 minutes.

Levi, few people could have stated this better than you did. Uber clearly owes you and all drivers an explanation and likely money as well. Yes, theft is the accurate word. Tracking all your own data pays off once again. This also highlights the many “opportunities” Uber needs to immediately fix and improve on. Russ

Levi Dara said in The IPO in writing in plain sight for every driver to read. The drivers will be less happy as we cut incentives and pay so that the business model can succeed! What more do you need to leave. Do this for yourself. Put this energy into starting your own ride company. Set the price you feel you are worth and don't step off of it. Time to pivot and put on the grown up pants. Uber is for suckers right now. I wish you the best.

Drivers, if there are small competing rideshare companies in your market, do what you can to support them. If their offer is better than uber/lyft sign up with them. Promote them to other drivers and to riders.

It is pretty simple, work until you app says 12 hour online time is run out. Also make sure you don’t move anywhere until you get new ride. So there you have it you have active hour equals online time and you will get extra if you sent get minimum for one week

  • @All-sk9qz
    @All-sk9qz 29 днів тому

Also a tip but this only works once per day but to see active time driving check to see how many hours you have remaining from the 12hr limit and subtract from current drive time left to see how much active time you had
