    Nicely done! Thank you for your review and comments, mine is arriving on a barge on the 23rd and we have very similar thoughts regarding use and appearance. I'm not going to wrap it since I agree it will diminish the look while giving me something extra to worry about.

    Got mine last week and can honestly say it’s the best vehicle Iv ever driven in almost every aspect. TBH I find myself thinking that 80k is a steal for how shockingly good it is.

      Everyone decided based on form factor, aesthetics, but that never mattered that much.
      I want one after learning how good it is under the skin. But I don't buy new and I don't buy first couple yrs of any new model from any MFG. It will be better still soon enough.

    Still quite amazed with all the dis-information out there re the CT! Its being put in a microscope, it slides one bit in icy roads, the cut that exact clip and post all over those bot instagram pages. Love the CT!
    PS. that Winamp screenshot though lol

      I too am quite amazed with all the disinformation out there concerning the CT over hyped truck capabilities. My week-long rental of a CT could not find pick truck worthiness from a pick up truck user stand point. The Electric propulsion was not the issue, that was proven to be very well done, it was the actual functional layout that was poor other that a life style vehicle which puts be back to being perplexed at the general acceptance of the dis-information from tesla itself about truck capabilities for this vehicle. I pulled the trigger on the SEV and I am happy with my purchase.

    100% agree about FSD. Once you’re used to it, you can’t live without it. Other autos will definitely license it. They’ll have to. The R1S is the only other car that I would want other than a Tesla, but honestly, with a Y and Cybertruck for a family of four, there’s no point in having a bigger SUV.

    Good review. I dont tell people about i take them on a test drive so they can experience it . If fun to watch the when they puchit on chill and they like woah. Then i swith them to standard and the are not read for it. After a test they i had a few(i just did my 37 test drive yesterday )who said they didn't like but after driving it changed thete mind .

      @LaJuanHughes The test drive did not convince me to purchase a CT, I did the opposite, it convinced me to purchase a SEV. I wanted a truck and could not find one at tesla.

    • @leoenin
      @leoenin  16 днів тому

      May I ask why? Specifically for road trips, I would probably go for the R1S, as it's all squared up. With a tent on top, it can fit four people.

    • @djalan2000
      @djalan2000 15 днів тому

      @@leoenin The R1S is a 'SUV' though, no good for a 'work truck' at all... The R1T with a MAX battery still doesn't have the 'extra' range (supposed to be 420, but you can't get that on highways - it's more like 320... More than the CT on 'all highway', BUT, if you add on the better stereo (still not as good as CT's 15 speakers and 2 subs), a POWERED tonneau cover, the MAX pack battery, All Terrain Wheels and tires (cuts range down to 370 epa) your cost is around $96,100 (for the DUAL motor, not the TRI) and the CT will still blow it away!!
      Not to mention you get a truck that looks like all the other trucks out there... Boring... OH, and with a tent on top and 4 people, your mileage will drop like a rock in water! Better off putting the tent in the bed and setting it up on the ground when you get to the campsite.

    • @leoenin
      @leoenin  15 днів тому

      @@djalan2000 That's pretty much what I thought. It will not do as a work truck - I agree here, but as a family "almost-truck" (due to its shape and the tailgate that you can close up) - it would probably do (with some modifications though) + it depends; if your focus is road trips with eventual camping the R1S is still more comfortable for that. Rivians aren't bad vehicles, I like them.

    Honestly in terms of a truck "barf" the cyber truck the way to go. All others are only driven by tools in a rush to the next grinder date. And they love their accessories, primary go to for a dodge for example is the tail gate warmer kum grate combo. 😂

    I'll stick with my Ford F350. I purchased a 2019 F350 Regular cab 4x4 Dually gasser for 50k Canadian including taxes, which is around 37k US. It has an 8'box, can tow over 18,000 lbs a payload of over 7000lbs and a spare tire. Cyber truck costs around 80k US, or 110k Canadian has a 1' box if you have the spare tire option and extended pack, which is no good. Its payload is 2500 which is pretty good, but almost a third of mine. It can tow 10000 lbs, which is pretty good but almost half of mine.
    If you're doing long trips, the Ford is superior. I use it to transport building supplies with my trailer across the Cascades in Canada as I am a builder. The price of gas is a killer, as I spend up to $1000 on gas, while an EV would probably be 5 to 10 times cheaper if I would charge at home. Believe me I get it, fuel cost is a game changer.
    If one was a business owner towing locally, an EV is a way to go, as you would save a fortune on fuel. The tech in the CT is awesome with the 48v harness, steer by wire, and FSD. I am not a fan of the 4 wheel steering for a truck as it is a weak point compared to a solid axle. Also, I am a minimalist when it comes to options, as my truck is an XL model which means it has manual windows and locks...lol. It has A/C and cruise, but that's about it. The Ford regular cab dually looks pretty bad ass, I have people taking pics of it all the time.
    Finally, sorry, but I can't stand the look of the CT. The sharp edges don't do it for me. I would feel like a cone head driving it, but hey, that's me, and I am sure the younger generation finds it cool. The fingerprints would drive me crazy, I guess with a wrap it would be better. I always thought a digital camo would be the way to go. It really depends on your use of the vehicle, and I can see ICE trucks, especially heavy duty towing rigs will phase out once the battery technology improves. I give it 10 years. By then the battery tech will have far greater energy density allowing for long ranges without range anxiety. But hey, in 10 years my Ford will be a collector piece, just like me, so I am keeping it until they carry me out of my house in a plywood box. I am just glad I have been around long enough to see the transition to EV's, and to have bought Tesla shares back in 2019. Cheers from Canada.

    • @leoenin
      @leoenin  14 днів тому +1

      Absolutely, I agree that it's not for everybody (yet) and it won't compete with the F-350. But compared to the F-150/Lightning, I think it's a solid choice (although it depends on the situation). I would wait until Tesla expands their lineup, which will eventually happen but it always takes time. For longer trips (if you don't tow), the Cybertruck will be better due to FSD and riding qualities, but if you tow up north, you'll still have to stick with a diesel truck. I get it - I'm not being a fanboy about "everything about Tesla" at all, just trying to consider all the important factors that are important for us.

    DONT BUY THE CYBERTRUCK UNTIL IT HAS THE 8% SILICON ANODE / ASYMMETRIC LAMINATION. The charging performance is horrible. V4 Cabinets will help slightly.... at very low SOC. but the CT needs to be able to hold 250-300 kw charging upto at least 60% SOC, which probably won't happen until Tesla adds the 8-16% silicone into the anodes
