RK3 Designs started as a way for Rhonda to showcase her creativity but has blossomed into a way to help others find theirs. Her obsession with painting led her to start refinishing furniture and kitchen cabinets. She found customers wanted a nicer option than laminate but more affordable and customizable than natural stone, which lead her to countertop epoxy! Since then, she’s helped thousands of students, from across the country (and even Canada eh?).

I've been looking for subtle marble with blue accent. THANK YOU!!
You are so welcome!
rk3designs.com || How did you like the vanity? What colors would you have chosen?
One of my favorite combinations of colors. I’ll be following this almost to the letter when I get ready to do my countertops!! Absolutely gorgeous!!❤❤❤
Wow I would love to see it in red and black for a kitchen
I absolutely love ❤ this piece there is nothing I would change about it, I learned so much from this video man I really love this piece
Wow. This was amazing to watch and love how you explain every step. Great job Thanks so much for sharing
Thank you!!! I love this finish for sure! Thanks for watching!
@@RK3Designsvery amazing work. You inspired me to give it a try. Unfortunately my patterns weren't as nice as yours. Any tips to redo it? Just sand it, apply a primer and start over on top of the existing epoxy?
HI you have been a lots of help iam getting ready to do my countertops in my new remodeled home my first-time epoxy job
I really want to do this on my kitchen island. It would look amazing. Would want more blue in it for my taste.
Go for it! I love Blue in a kitchen!!
Love this piece of art! Amazing...
That looks awesome!
Very realistic looking and easy to do!
Another beautiful finish Rhonda- love the combination of colors you've chosen- can't wait to start my kitchen with this recipe !!
Lovely and subtle. Super!
Love this soft marble! Very elegant ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Awesome looks
Looks Awesome!
You make it look so easy Rhonda.
I’ve done it a couple of times…LOL. It gets easier as you practice. You’ll get it!! 😊
Beautiful! How can I stop yellowing over time?
LOVE LOVE this color and movement! Great job guys. PS love that Earth Blue ! Vaghn
Thanks, nice tutorial, great design.
Thank you!! 😊
I love4 this!!!!!
I meant before I am doing a dining room table and it is the colors you just used except black. Those colors are in my kitchen and my inspiration comes from Stone Coat’s short clip Special or secret recipe. Love that, and all you do.
someday I will do this for the kitchen in my houseboat. I will add a little more blue but I want white white white in my houseboat. Its small and I want it to look bigger with a few hints of the outside which is blue (roof) white (sides) and grey (trim) Thanks for this. Beautiful
So good 👍 👏 ❤
This is gorgeous! I will duplicate this
would love to see this in a black with hints of grey tones in it
Beautiful! Can we take a moment to appreciate 18:37 😍😍 I would love to see a soft cream version of this. It's difficult to find tutorials for a white marble or quartz look that's not cool-toned. Thanks so much for your videos!
7rshdA3. It
Looks great!! I'm thinking of doing the same exact type of marble but with an emerald green instead of blue. to highlight the wall color and cabinets.
That will be awesome. I’ve been wanting to do some green!!
@@RK3Designs If I drag a stick through with a darker green to make some highlights, will that look too overpowering? I'm thinking I should just keep it subtle like the recipe you just made. I probably should make a practice panel before I go all in, but I kind of like happy accidents and might just go for it. I'm a couple weeks from my pour, just finishing up building the custom cabinets from scratch!
I have watched many of your shows as I hope to be redoing our counter tops soon. The only problem I am having is the angle of the camera. It only shows across the project where the lighting lightens the colors a bit and you don't get a view even as you would see from standing near but higher. Is there a way to get a view from above to see it better?
I'm looking to make a 2' x 3' slab of turquoise with a bubble edge - like a large version of a cut stone. Any pointers or recipes? Love what y'all are doing in this medium!
Fantastic Rhonda ! Your videos are so good …thanks !! Can I ask why you don’t wear a mask of some kind whilst working with epoxy ? Congrats on reach 50,000 💕
Thank you!! The epoxy I use (Stonecoat countertop) is made of solids and no solvents. It’s zero VOC’s and very safe. I’m also in a very large, well ventilated work space. 😊
This is beautiful! Great job! How would it look as a dirty pour with these colors? Why 6oz vs 3oz? Is it for more depth? Thank you!
51.1K!! Wooohooo!! 🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations!! 👏👏 I really like that finish! The combo of plain, shiny and sparkly for the win!! 🌟🌟 I'm wondering if using some touches of yellow/gold would help reduce the noticeabillity of the ambering? Like using gold instead of silver and a light lemon yellow instead of the blue?
Thank you so much!! Yes it would. Also, if you use a champagne or a pearl.
@@RK3Designs Awesome!! 🤗 Thank you!! 😍 You're quite welcome!💖
I'm relatively new to your channel and absolutely loving it! I do have a question. When mixing your 3 oz epoxy to 1 square foot, is that including the epoxy you have for your colors or is that extra epoxy mixed up?
Hi there! Welcome to the additive epoxy world LOL!! That includes everything. I’ll measure the surface and then multiply to get the total amount of epoxy I’ll need. At that point, I divide it into the different color cups.
I want to do mine in purple and white
I cream with brown and grey highlights would be nice.
Wow ! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Question ; Can you use 99% or 70% isopropyl alcohol instead of using isopropyl 91% alcohol to create “cells” ? They don’t sell 91% in my Country.
Hello Rhonda, Can you self level with denatured alcohol, or does that not work with stone coat?
Looks awesome. Have you tried this technique on a lifetime (poly) table? More specifically, can you get the epoxy to stick with the undercoat?
If you apply epoxy to anything slick, you’ll need to scuff the surface then apply a high quality bonding primer. I recommend XIM. Let it dry then test by scratching your fingernail on the surface. If it scratches then let it dry longer or apply another coat. Once dry then paint with the undercoating and pour your epoxy. 😊
I'd think that a plastic folding table would have too much flex for epoxy, but I suppose it depends how you use it
@@RK3Designs Thank you!
Did you need the additional clear flood coat for this? I thought as long as you didn't use spray paint in your color coat that you could go right to using the UTC. Is it because the added fracture lines later in the curing don't level out completely?
Did you use art coat, or regular stone coat?
Thanks I love this one. I’m doing this to my kitchen bar.
Have fun! It will look GREAT!
Hey, 51K, that’s awesome!! You’ve created a great Channel & Community, hats off to you and Kenny! 🎩👒🧢
Thanks so much!. Now to 100,000 LOL!! I appreciate you watching!
@@RK3Designs Onward & Upward!
When you add the diamond dust in the flood coat is it still food safe?
You bet. As long as the Diamond Dust is imbedded into the epoxy and not just sitting on top.
What would be bottom line cost for average kitchen?
I have a huge kitchen with 3 counters and a massive island and it cost me $3000. But that's with everything.
Where do you get the medex mdf?
We get ours from a wholesale lumber company in San Antonio.
Not my favorite. Looks like varicose veins
