Is it not possible you're using the HiSense incorrectly? I see it's got two ports, I understand some portable ACs also have an intake so they don't ingest the air they've already cooled. It might work better with one more hose, but then again if it had a second hose I imagine you would have connected it.
Great observation!! So the deal with that is some models have an intake for outdoor and an exhaust. They must make them all with the same frame to save money. This one didn’t have that feature and only came with one hose. You definitely want the more expensive model with the dual hose system it’s WAY better
So you leave it on all day . That is incredible and how big your area? On electricity to much difference Where do you live is dry or humid ? Now there is a promo in Costco I was going to get on for my garage shop
Roughly 900-1000sqft. It took the edge off the really hot days in the main living space and kitchen but I did need a separate window a/c for the bedroom. Definitely noticed the electricity bill went up by 50-$75/ month when it was running on high all day every day. Fairly dry in Calgary. If there's a promo at Costco get one and try it out, if you don't like it they will take it back. I've tried so many different one but this was the best. If they go on sale I'm gonna get another because I hated leaving the window open when I wasn't home with that AC in it. These are better for security easy to pop out and back in.

Not once. They are supposed to be self draining, although a few people reported they had to drain theirs...but they lived in very humid places.
