    Has anyone figured out a way to to not have the fan possessed ? I have the 2021 white model and it’s started to be possessed like he mentioned. I think it’s just a software thing or if using the app?

      Weird hey!? Glad I’m not the only one. Thought maybe I had a bad one.

      I ended up figuring something out... The auto feature is really sporadic and and auto fan is also sporadic. I got it to be more consistent by using cool mode and then setting the fan speed in the app. The fan will still spool down but not past the set point. Also the internal fan for the air exchange is where most of the noise is coming from, it spools up when first kicked on but then settles down after a couple of minutes and stays there if the fan is set low. Basically don’t use the auto functions if you want to sleep.
      Still the air exchange could be quieter, but it’s more consistent in a solid set mode vs auto.
      Also default low fan on the console is 40% but the app lets you pick lower speeds.

      @trevorchristensen4103 good to know!! I was using mine on low fan speed cool mode for sleeping too but just like you say the fan still ramped up and down a bit. I couldn’t get the app to work…

    The problem is that in my country there is no dual hose disigne portable air conditioner and the sigle hose is some times cheap for only 130 bucks you get 9000btu for cooling and 7kbtu for heating. Great deal. Love it. It is always better to buy dual hose but try finding it in my place im form Croatia

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer

      Well, at least they are cheap there! 130 is a sweet deal. Hope electric bill is less there too

    I own the black model. The temperature on the unit rarely matches the temperature on the remote. I have my own theories on why, like the temperature sensor on the unit being placed near the mouth, but that's just how it is. I've found that the remote temperature is the accurate one. You can use the follow me function on the remote and the unit will respond to the temperature at the remote, with varying success. I assume this would be the same with the new white model.

    I posted this on one of your shorts but thought it might be better served here.
    For folks in the US, and maybe Canada, you can buy these refurbished (sometimes) directly from Danby through the Walmart marketplace. I just bought one to use in my garage for $289 USD and added the Walmart 4 year warranty for $45.
    Here’s the refurb part number.
    DPA120B9IBDB-RF
    Here’s another Danby with (from what I can tell) exactly the same specs.
    DPA120CBIMBDB-RF. Walmart had this one for $350 USD

      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you! Someone else commented that a place called Princess Auto in Canada has these refurbished for $300 as well. Refurbished might be better than new as one would assume a tech went through it and verified its operation and or fixed it.

    Anyone measure the temperature at the vent? I have the refurbished black model. Lowest temp I get is 61.5 F (16.4 C).

      Hopefully someone can help. I don’t have an accurate enough laser gun to measure or I’d help.

    • @sergioarana1309

      @@TheLastHonestInfluencer Thanks for the response. Just the main air filter adjacent the hose - is there another? If anyone has any air temp reading at the vent, I'd appreciate it. Still cooling enough to make it worthwhile but would be nice to know if should try my luck on another and return this one. I'm in Florida, regularly in the high 90s (32-37C); super humid as well. On continuous drain on fan speed 2 it will pump out 15-20 gallons per day.

    • @sergioarana1309
      @sergioarana1309 8 днів тому +1

      Ok, so I was thinking about this wrong. I came to the conclusion that my unit is a good one. The aim should be how many degrees difference does the unit output at the vent relative to surrounding air temperature in the room. At low compressor speed, when the temperature target is only 1 or 2 degrees from surrounding room temperature, my unit outputs air ~13 degrees cooler. When the target is 5 or more degrees away and the compressor ramps up, the output air temperature is up to 21 degrees cooler (Fahrenheit).

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  7 днів тому

      @sergioarana1309 sounds like a good one to me too! I run mine all day on low fan too, keeps the place nice and cool. Crazy how much water you get out of yours living in Florida!

    Many years back bought 3 in 1 DPAC 10030 | We do not need to use it for about more than a month in one year. | Yesterday - red light started flashing -> which refers to Internal water tank full or displaced | This morning - checked internal water tank - ZERO water. | Drained water completely by removing upper and lower plugs. | Still light is blinking. | No idea - searching on the web, it seems like only we are facing this issue. | Do not know where the sensor is located OR even how to check if it is faulty. | If someone has any idea - please reply to this post. Thanks

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Місяць тому

      @@Vijay_0HKG haven’t heard of this issue before, but I think you’re right the sensor might be fouled (scale) or just faulty. On the black unit in the video I poured a couple pitchers of water into the fan opening to show how good it worked…it kept going the tank didn’t even flash full. I mention this only because if I had your problem I’d try filling the tanks up and draining them again, possibly with a diluted vinegar solution incase the sensor is scaled.
      Hopefully someone else chimes in with a better idea! Good luck!!!

      Please do! Good to know, thank you. Likely a refurbished model is even better as it would have to pass some sort of inspection that is probably more thorough than the new ones do. $500 is a good deal hope it works awesome for you. Sure need it in AB right now...

    Just curious, why not install a mini split? More expensive up front, but tons more efficient.
    Even the inverter style window units would be much better.

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Місяць тому +2

      I get this all the time, I rent so the PAC is just easier. Usually say that in the vids but forgot this time. Landlords aren’t crazy about installing a split plus I move as soon as they increase rent which has been every year for the last 5. Split would be tricky to uninstall and move compared to PAC. But you are absolutely right, the mini split is the way to go if you own. The extra $300 you spend up front you will save in the first year of use alone. WAY more efficient.
      You are right again. I have a vid on the Danby inverter window unit it’s amazing. But only if you have windows that open vertically. No way to install it in this new place. Had one in the old place. So quiet. Way more efficient. Loved it. They do make some that are for horizontal sliding windows now but I couldn’t find one locally. If I do find a good one where the coils and compressor are outside I’ll snap it up immediately.
      Thanks for your comment!

      @@TheLastHonestInfluencer I have a question about the white model: is the exhaust hose insulated like the previous black model? It seems the black model might be the better option.
      Have you noticed any upgrades or improvements in the white model compared to the black one?
      Given the choice, would you still opt for the black model over the white one?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Місяць тому +1

      It is on this one…but Danby makes another white 3in1 model where the hose is just single uninsulated (dumb).
      Black model every single time. It’s programmed better and has better sensors. This white one is waking me up at night. The black one was so quiet, consistent fan speed. This white one is up and down constantly, with fan on auto AND when you take it out of auto and put it on low speed.
