Why do Australian taxpayers support a cabal of useless diplomats and support-staff enjoying local gourmet food and potent beverages around the world like (insert?)? During the long and unfair entrapment of Australian citizen Mr. Julian Assange, nothing positive has been achieved by Australia. NADA, ZILCH, NOTHING! How is that even possible? Look what China can do for its jailed citizens like Huawei's criminal director Ms. Meng Wanzhue who returned to a heroines welcome in CCP China! SHAME Australia! Also, SHAME on Sweden for using one, possibly two CIA "honeypot agents" to do him in with false abuse accusations! It is also infuriating to see the lack of support from our Federal Government or any influential Australian organisation for whistle blowers like Queenslanders Dr. Peter Reid and the Tasmanian Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Gary Fettke who said: "Science evolve by being challenged, not by being followed". Or truth for that matter. The kind of individual "freedom of thinking" that lead to progress and success is obviously of a rather low priority "Down Under". Despite this attitude a few have endured "slings and arrows" and eventually become recognized world-wide like the two Western Australian Nobel Prize laureates Dr Barry J. Marshal and Dr Robin Warren who's initially much maligned discovery have now drastically improved millions of lives. It should not require a rare Nobel Prize to be respected by Australian politicians, bureaucrats and media! Indeed, Julian Assange is the Solzhenitsyn of our time. Look at the historical similarities. Both served their time as political prisoners of the State: Solzhenitsyn for 8 years in the CCCP gulag and Assange in virtual solitary confinement for 7 years in the Ecuadorian embassy. Each, in his own time, was besieged at every turn by the prevailing authority and tasted the loneliness of life in exile.
It is clear that Australia will never deviate from Washington USA, under any circumstances, not even in favour of its own National citizen, in this case a journalist that have done no crime. Julian Assange only did his job that had benefit to the world, unlike so many other system "journos & paparazzi". History is being written right now, and Sweden, USA, Britain and collaborating Australia will be held to account for this crime against humanity.

Julian has been made such an example of...it's just not possible that corporate media would go near the truths that Wikileaks did. We will never see the truth again.. Julian is in a very precarious health position because of his internment in the Embassy and then Belmarsh. He is very low in Vitamin D from lack of sunlight for all that time, he will be very vulnerable to a lack of immunity and even osteomalacia. Let's try and remember all these intelligence agencies of the 5 eyes have been corrupted by leftists, working together with the media with their own strategic propaganda leaks. These nations leaders are given intelligence briefings by these same intelligence agencies, do you really believe they would tell the truth to conservative leaders? They obviously gave President Trump and Priminister Morrison false information about Assange. The problem is Assange began as a hacker and has always been the antifa/ progressive type leftists that got on the inside working with New York Times. Then he realised they were helping the enemy he was trying to expose. The left just don't understand they're on the wrong side and are being used as useful idiots. Obama jailed many journalists yet Assange's wife speaks highly of him as if he's defended free speech. Trump is also being persecuted by these intelligence agencies so I don't believe he's the bad guy here, definitely misinformed and trusted the CIA to brief him honestly, I'd say he now knows that the swap is deeper than he imagined. Missed opportunity to free Assange because he believed the justice department would do what's right. It's not over yet but I know evil always loses in the end.

Labor were in power when this first started, and Rudd-Gillard were very cosy with the Obama administration. Abbott wasn't around long enough to do much, and the cretinous Turnbull was also too close to US politicians and Morrison was too Turnbull-lite, then had COVID to worry about. I think Trump largely ignored this issue, and Biden is more of what was around when this first started, and the (fairly) new Labor government here is too close to a Democrat administration again.

The goal to shut the gate on that for all future generations is 2030. We are in massive amounts of danger. The pshycopaths got control and they are not going to ever stop. They will never have enough control. They literally cannot get enough. Left to it's own devices it will descend into limitless depths of human depravity. When the brain structure of the people behind this are purely dopamine operated and divorced of the human concept of empathy there is no restriction on the amount of human suffering they will plumb once they are truly left to proceed with their motivations unchecked which is the direction they will allways naturally be heading in. If we the people do not resist this is 100% or fate. And once they have that level of power over us through centralised digital currency, social credit score etc etc no future generations will ever be able to get free once human rights are removed entirely.

Thank you Jordan. If I may, as a journalist reporting from the Assange courtroom for the last few years, offer a correction to your introduction. Julian Assange entered the Embassy of Ecuador on June 19, 2012, not 2010. On December 9th 2010, after Sweden had issued an Interpol Red Notice and European Arrest Warrant in relation to a Swedish investigation (which had previously been dropped and permission given for him to leave Sweden), Mr Assange went to a UK police station, from where he was transferred to Wandsworth prison for 11 days. He was then released on bail and spent the next year and a half under house arrest, trying to persuade Sweden to question him in the UK under the regime of Mutual Legal Assistance, a standard procedure. But Sweden insisted he must be questioned In Sweden and demanded his extradition. Fearing he would be extradited onward to the US under a Temporary Surrender Treaty between the US and Sweden, an instrument that could be used before the Swedish matter was resolved, Assange fought the extradition order. On February 1st and 2nd 2012, the matter was heard in the UK Supreme Court and the ruling, after appeal was refused, was for extradition. UK law has since changed, so that extradition can no longer be demanded simply for questioning. Assange then went to the Embassy where he was granted political asylum, and spent the next five years trying to persuade Sweden to question him in the Embassy or via video link. Ecuador also engaged in the negotiations with Sweden, but to no avail. On April 6th 2013, Justice Stefan Lindskog from the Supreme Court of Sweden stated: "It is possible that the prosecutor could travel to London and interrogate him there. I have no answer to the question why that hasn’t happened”, and in 2016, the UNWGAD proclaimed that Assange was being arbitrarily detained and should be compensated. The Swedish prosecutor, Marianne Ny, came under intense pressure to advance her case or drop it. She finally came to London, questioned Assange, and in 2017 dropped the case. There were never any charges, so the case and associated arrest warrant were defunct when Assange was removed from the embassy on April 11 2019. Nevertheless, the UK sentenced Assange to a year in Belmarsh maximum security prison for bail violation. The next day, the US unsealed an extradition order in relation to the first of three indictments, for conspiracy to commit computer intrusion. He only served six months for bail violation, and has been held on remand in Belmarsh ever since. There are many more, and gruesome details to this story, especially in relation to the security company guarding the Embassy, and I would recommend reading "The Trial of Julian Assange" by Nils Melzer, the former UN Special Rapporteur on Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. Indeed, medical professionals who examined Mr Assange in Belmarsh found that he showed all the symptoms of someone who had been psychologically tortured for a prolonged period.

@CathyVogan thank you for providing your excellent summation and corrections - if only Jordan had spoken to you at length prior to this interview it would have been so very much improved. Whilst I'm grateful to Jordan and The Daily Wire for the platform I'm bitterly disappointed that Jordan didn't really know the details, particularly relating to the farce of the Swedish "judicial" system in its capacity as tool of the American Empire.
Considering it was Petersen's opposition to Canada's C16 which catapulted him to international prominence I'm amazed that while watching this interview, I realised that as an elderly Australian nobody who is embarrassed by my government's quizzling relationship with the US master, I was better informed on Assange than Dr Petersen appeared to be - I shuddered every time Jordan referred to the 'Swedish Charges' when of course he should have known there are none...... and it is this fact which lies at the heart of this disgraceful tragedy.
How can the many thousands of journalists & lawyers across the Anglosphere know little of this ongoing tragedy and in most cases, care less. I understand Robert Barnes recently offered his assistance to the Assange legal team and I don't know why such offer was ignored in a matter where the sheer injustice continues in an environment where louder voices ( such as Barnes) could only be of benefit.

As an American, it is heartbreaking to realize the depth of corruption that exists within the framework of our political and judicial system. There are so many raging fires eating away at the American constitutional fabric, it is hard to keep my head from spinning. The word picture of “fires eating away at the Constitutional fabric…” is outstanding. The whole cloth from which this nation was made was sound enough to last several millennia if the whole of the nation or even the majority should have remained ethical to the principles that made the Constitution work. In short, if those who were given their rights by God alone had continued on in those rights and their faith and commitment to God, this nation may have continued on it’s successful course for long after we lived, died and our progeny did the same. But instead the use of immorality as a ‘right’ corrupted our society until the pillars which upheld the Republic had eroded to a tragic state.

I’m so happy that doctor Peterson has conducted this interview. For months I’ve been in this comment section saying that he can not claim to be a serious non political advocate for free speech until he addressed the Assange case. Because there is in my mind no example of an attack on free speech more pernicious. Now that he has addressed it I have to say that I respect him as without further criticism or doubt as a bonafide and genuine free speech advocate.
I have to say that I’m shocked by his ignorance on the subject which he showed in this interview, especially his ignorance of the nature of the us court system and prison system. But for a man with such little knowledge of the situation to even go so far out of his sphere of understanding to conduct this interview, is a sign of genuine interest in of gaining understanding of the situation. And a heroic acceptance of responsibility to pursue the truth and present it to his audience.
Dr Peterson you are true inspiration and a hero to me. And I believe that you only need to continue on the path you are on following the same principles and more and more people like me given time will be convinced of your genuine intentions and character.
I believe dr Peterson can be the first person in the history of media to convince an audience that his motivation is genuinely what he says it is. By force of consistency in his behaviour alone. That alone would be an unprecedented,Beautiful, incredibly practically useful, and historically significant achievement and development in journalism

Well said. It's something more than journalism as we've known it. It's authenticity - his - raises the bar. It was also great to see Jordan smile in what for me was a new way and have a healthy detachment along with seriousness.

Why are you "shocked" that a non-US university professor has limited knowledge about the nature of US court and prison systems? Did you expect those topics to be within a Canadian psychologist's realm of expertise?

@@Pechanni it’s shocking to me that an otherwise well informed and politically conscious man from an anglophone country with strong views on the American institutions and Western institutions more broadly. would not know about the wide scale catastrophe of u.s criminal justice. In the same same way in shocks me and dr Peterson that otherwise well informed left wing activists in the west are totally unaware of the history Stalinist atrocities in the Soviet Union. Not that I’m comparing Stalins atrocities as like for like to the American justice system. Does that make sense?

Dr. Peterson i saw a Clip of where Piers Morgen ambushed you with a despicable attack on those you help. I just wanted to say thank you for the work you do to help marginalized and demeaned young men find purpose and meaning in their lives. It is vital!
