Jay I went to playland on labor day. They dropped the price to $15 because attendance was so bad this season. I see what you mean about the boardwalk, we had to walk all the way around and out of the park to get to the Tiki bar. I have been going there my whole life and it is depressing how run down and sad Playland has become. No new rides, over priced, closed concessions, and lazy workers. They need to get rid of Catch a wave, the crazy mouse, Wipeout, super flight, and the go carts. All are terrible for that park. If you are going to have carnival rides have the Zipper, the Spider and bring back the fun house and magic carpet. They should have at least one other good roller coaster besides the Dragon and another dark ride. I'm not going back until things change and I'm definitely not going back for $30.
You're absolutely right Chester. Everything you said I totally agree with. Those running Playland just don't have the skill to run it right like Six Flags and Disney. I like you see exactly what the problems are causing Playland to fail. They do everything to work against them. Keeping bad rides not adding new ones along with the high admittance fees including parking which is slowly destroying the park. It would take Playland to almost have to file for bankruptcy before they would get wise and finally admit, "gee, I think we better make the park the way it used to be before we have to tear it down." The public needs to hold up picket signs and protest right out front where The Administration Building is on opening day of next year, demanding changes now. Do that and you'll get results. Believe me. Playland's first mistake was never replacing all the rides after that 1966 fire, except for The Bumper Cars. I wonder why? Having a fire should be no excuse for not rebuilding The Fun House and Magic Carpet. Disney would never have this problem.

I miss this ride coming to my fair slightly different but I miss rocking the cars, we have one that's the same thing but the cars are slightly smaller can't rock them though sadly

Well Playland is an amusement park having some larger carnival type rides. Yeah, the Thunderbolt is a little scary. I went on it once to take a video.
