Glad to help... we did not know either, but there are zero handling or speed effects... another friend got it on her Seadoo and again, no change in any way. thanks for watching! Bob
I did my 2016 VXR and Totally agree with everything they said in this video. I will reapply in the off season another 5 coats, so I don't have to worry about it for a while. It's really the only solution for a Nano Yamaha hull.
Let me know if you’re able to get a hold of the gentleman and Cocoa. If not, there’s another guy that used the similar product different name over in Holiday Florida. I’m probably gonna go there in a couple weeks to get mine done by him since the guy and Cocoa doesn’t respond back.
Probably should add that to my 2014's. We did a little damage to them on the Ocklawaha last fall. Didn't get to explore the river after that. wanting to go back! Thanx for sharing!
The key thing is that it really protects from everyday scratches etc and certainly helps as you have seen from our mishaps but you should still treat your hull like it’s a pristine hull with no further protection. But with that said it appears to strengthen the ski against most minor dings… thanks for watching… Bob
Good I am glad it was useful… we have a friend Sarah who also put it on her Seadoo with same results… wish I had not have to do it but the Yamaha “nano” hulls can be scratched by just looking at them too long! Thanks for watching! Bob
Those hulls are looking good! I am going to drop off my 21 FX to a guy in southern Ohio to have the coating put on, but I am going to have Super Slick (Fasco) put on. I dont think Jeff B is doing Gator Glide anymore. I am 99.9% sure he has been using Super Slick for a long time. Are you guys sure you have Gator Glide and not Super Slick? I am going to ask my installer if he can put a light colored base coat on first and then finish with black. The lighter base color would act as a wear indicator. I am not sure if its doable, but Ill talk to the installer when I drop mine off.
Thanks for watching; your repair guy will address the gouges as part of the application and it will be delivered back as new with the coating on it. Let me know how it goes. Bob
my 21 svho is i guess delaminated on the hull and looking for a fix... you guys give me a little confidence now and im fixing to order.... great video and thanks
thank you for the comments. My hull never appeared to have a manufacturing issue that caused it to delaminate, but I started to accumulate cosmetic scratches on it and it started to bother me so I felt a little insurance getting GG applied would help and it has... Either way you still have to treat it carefully when thinking about beaching it. Appreciate you watching! Bob
@@kkutube1972 SS 2000 was really not being advertised back then as an application. We were on the initial wave as everything was just starting. From what I know about both products you will be satisfied with either…. Thanks for watching and commenting. Bob
The guy from watercraft journal had said that having Gator glide applied to your ski would be like driving a car with ball tires. Looks like you're not experiencing that. Thanks for the video.
The guy from watercraft journal and I disagree on a few things…. Hahahaha. I’ll add this one to the list… no performance effect on speed , turns etc… good to have in our opinion if you do adventure skiing… thanks for watching…. Bob
I also had no noticeable difference in handling, nor did I expect to. I do agree with Kevin a lot, but the actual experience with gator glide proved to me there was no disadvantage other than cost.
to be fair, kevin shaw is speaking for the guys that are dropping knees into corners @ 50 mph. Bob is more casual, not a bad thing, but thats where the difference lies.
@BobBroeking you may not ever "recall riding with me" but are you saying you're a circuit racer? the guys that are doing this professionally are the ones noticing the difference. WCJ has been doing this for decades they arent hobbyists. All i was doing was clarifying what WCJ said about gator glide. it IS altering your watercraft since you only apply gator glide the lower part of the hull that hits the water, but in a hard turn you're rapidly changing surface tension on the water to the part of the hull that isnt gator glide so it changes your turns. straight line adventure riders will not notice an oz of difference
Hey Bob! Great videos man. I remember seeing one of your episodes about a shield guard you put on your hull. Would you happen to have their website or contact? Thank you in advance 🤙🏽
I was thinking about doing this but was concerned with handling issues, speed loss, etc. Thanks for the update Bob!

Great review, i'm definitely going to do mine, 2013 FXSHO
I have experienced no downside; only positive results for the places I go on this machine. Thanks for watching and commenting. Bob

My brother and I still need to have our skis done
Do you think the Seadoo needs it?

Excellent! As my #1 supporter thank you!

Surprised you are not applying the coating by yourself with your talents.
Loren, not sure if he has gotten away from it or not but ours is definitely Gatorglide.
I’m dropping my ‘23 Kawi Ultra at the shop today. Unfortunately I hit something unknowingly and put two nice gouges down to the fiber glass.

Bob.... Appreciate the video.....Can you provide a POC in Central Florida where you had "Gator Glide" installed on your ski??
Yes Jeff Butler owner of Performance Fiberglass Repair in Cocoa Beach at 321-720-9299. Pfiberglassrepairs@gmail.com
Thanks Bob :).
@@BobBroeking Thanks Bob!
@@johnsnow2347 It took me a couple od days to get the contact info from Jeff.

Before Gator Glide, did you also look into Slick 2000? I am deciding between the 2.

Glad you enjoyed it I appreciate you watching and commenting! Bob
Are those bubbles that you show on the Gator Glide? If so, is there water between the Gator Glide and the hull?
I thought thT at first but then i realized it was water droplets, i think!
The surface is scalloped … the hulls were wet as we filmed that at the ramp after a ski trip and had just taken them out of the water….
Exactly they had just come out of the lake… thanks for watching
Who was your installer
Jeff Butler and Jacob Meloche from Performance Fiberglass Repairs in Cocoa, FL.. he is on FB as well. Thanks for watching. Bob
Did they change the material of the hulls after '21?
I believe they went back to fiberglass and went AWAY from the nano hull. Thanks for watching and commenting! Bob
I miss interested in getting this product on my skis. Do you have a number to reach out to him?
Here is Jeff Butler’s profile link on FB: facebook.com/profile.php?id=1072218557&mibextid=LQQJ4d Thanks for watching
Would the gator glide be to slick to use on pwc lifts?
Not sure exactly; if the lift raises level then no issue... a slight tilt then maybe; at least for the first 6 months.
Hey guys, do you have a contact for the gentleman who did your boats
Jeff Butler in the Cocoa Beach area… he can be reached through the Florida Ski Riders group on FB. I do not have a direct contact method for him.
Do you know how much gator glide is applied to the bottom of your ski?
First thanks for watching… I know I have two coats on mine … maybe three. But do not know for sure ….
Hey gents, how many mm thick is the preferred application?
I do not know the technical answer to this question, but if you ask it on one of the big ski groups on FB I bet someone can answer. Bob

Don't go out with Tracy, The guy is an accident magnet... 😁
You noticed that eh??? I always give Tracy a wide margin when I am following him… we call him the gangster…. Hahahaha thanks for watching! Bob
The only man who would benefit from a 12 pts roll cage, seat belts and air bags on a jet skis lol
🧑🔧😎👍🏼
Thanks for watching as always!
#WatercraftJournal is wrong with his gator glide rants!
Thanks for watching and commenting.... Bob
I agree! Not impressed with Gator glide at all,
All that prep work and application time, I beached maybe 5-6 Times already worn through to the paint 😠
