This video is very helpful, especially the Playback Keys Use Shift. Me and two of my Dj friends experience hit the Q or A during a party. The song went in reverse and threw off everything. Thanks for the tip.

DJ lift off this is good info my friend keep up the good work
Will do, thanks for the support 🙏🏾
@@DJLiftOFF I'm just saying if a DJ can't mix two records together scratching isn't all DJing is about people don't like a lot of scratching
@@michaelcoleman8203 there’s extremely true. More often not, people want minimal scratching. I think it’s just one of those things that are super dope to understand how to do, and when you “want” to incorporate it, you can. Or if you wanna join competitions, etc.
You are the best
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great info. I would love to see some of the basic or other things from you. Thanks !!!
Let me know what you wanna see 🙏🏾
Dope logo!
Thank you!!
Thanks bro I'm just getting my feet wet with being a DJ your tips are very helpful, especially since I'm using Serato 👍🏿
🙏🏾🙏🏾
U are in fact the O.G.
Thank you 🙏. Next how to setting recording
Wicked video,I'd live to know more about bit grid displays
Definitely going to do a beat grid video sooner than later.
Definitely was able to implement your Serato suggestions/knowledge onto my Serato settings.
Thank you Lift Off, great video👍

🙏🏾🙏🏾 thanks for watching!
Dope video bro. Thank you 🔥. I protect my library so my clumsy ass doesn't erase music. I did it one time and I thought I was going to die🤣🤣🤣
Bruhhh I know the feeling 😂😂. Stress ain’t even the word.
Thank you MaN, these help a lot. Can you touch on QUANTIZE in a video.
I know what quantizing is, but haven’t looked in to much in regards to serato. Will definitely look in to! Thanks 🙏🏾
Universal
Thanks for the Tips. Awesome 👍
i loved the video 👍 But you didn't do a video on how to set your cross fader for scraching to the left to the right some mixser have two cross faders🙏🙏🙏
Good video. You are one of the only DJs to admit to and encourage the use of the sync button.
🙏🏾 thanks. There are definitely times it’s useful and I honestly think it’s silly to not use it for prideful reasons.
I do also think it’s imperative to know how to DJ without sync, and understand how to manually beat match, but sync has its benefits for sure.
@@DJLiftOFF I’ve been DJing since the 80s with vinyl. And I know how to beat match. However, with today’s technology, the software analyzes the songs for bpm and other things, but when trying to find a song with the same bpm, I dont understand trying to beat match by ear, when the bpm is right there. Phrasing, counting beats are the other piece one needs to know. But I happily use sync and the only thing I worry about and try to get right is phrasing and shjt like that. I use the technology. Some of these proper DJs try to pick and choose what people should and shouldn’t do.
I have a question, is there a setting like CDJs that we can scratch or use a hotcue and the music will continue to play without actually jumping back to that point in the track?
Thank You that helped alot.. I have a DDJ-FLEX6 controller do you have any tips
🙏🏾🙏🏾 I don’t have any immediate tips but I’m going to pick up a controller soon and start making more videos with controllers to hopefully be more helpful.
Hi how can do cue mix?
thank
Why can’t I set my crossfader curve to fast?? Thanks! Great video
You’re welcome! What controller/hardware are you using??
I have a question 🙋♂️ how can I clean up collection from my serato dj pro it’s stressing 😩 please 🙏🏾 someone help me here
To consider also?
Lock Playback Deck - disable accidentally loading/cueing onto a playing deck.
Reset Played Tracks on Exit -> there is not all blues the next time you load, trying to figure out if you already played a track.
Yes, great addition!! 💯

Hey man I appreciate all the tips…but quick question. How do you get to the Mixer section so I can adjust my cross fader. I’ve been looking and I cannot find it. Thanks
When you’re looking, is your controller plugged in? It should be right in settings, and in the “mixer” section if you’re controller is plugged in. What hardware are you using?
Good day guys. I have problem with serato dj and would need a solution if anyone has got same problem in the past. I’m currently having pop up sounds while playing with my ddj sx3. Sometimes it’s as loud as a gun shot. I also have scratchlive which i tried, with same PA settings and didn’t have same issues. I was using ddj sr and also had same problem. Could this be a problem with my serato dj pro setting? Someone should please reply me asap. Thanks
Can you see clearly with 'hi-res screen display' turned off? My library jus look like a big blur with it off but then serato lags with it on.
My screen is fine high res off, never had a problem with it!
Why is my tidal play list greyed out and it won’t let me load any songs can someone help me with this
I’m not sure on that one! Hoping you got it figured out.
hi dj liftoff id wish to see the exact serato settings on that pioneer s9 mixer pls ands not on the software and how to do it coz i cant on mine pls
Got you, you have a S9?
am I the only one who noticed how quickly your battery is going down LOL
😂😭 I wasn’t paying attention at all
Something weird I find with the twelves is that if there isnt any start time and you start the deck while holding the plater, the song plays for a bit and then cuts off. So I have actually have a small amount of start time to prevent that
That happens with every motorized platter. Happens on my NS7III, happens on the REV7 as well. Not sure why…
Very interesting. I’ve never tried doing that but I wonder why motorized platters do that 🤔
@@DJLiftOFF I actually found out the answer to this. This is actually a Serato feature, not a bug. Motorized platters, like turntables, have a short “wind-up” before reaching full speed. Serato realized they could have instant start up (with no wind-up) if they program the software to ignore the motorized platter getting up to speed. The problem is that it takes the software a fraction of a second to know whether the platter is just getting up to speed, or if it’s being held still. That’s the short sound you hear. To overcome this, go in the Serato settings and turn “start-up time” just slightly up from instant start.
Great video and very helpful. You said the crossfader should be on FAST if you are scratching but what if you are mixing and blending too would be ok to still have it on FAST?
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Fast for scratching! If you’re mixing with the crossfader, fast isn’t a good option! But I don’t recommend mixing with the crossfader. Hope that answers your question!
@@DJLiftOFF Yes thanks bro. I should mix/blend with the upfaders not the crossfader right?
@@J-God_1999 yessir, exactly!
@@DJLiftOFF Got it. I just tested it, much smoother mixing with the upfaders.
@@J-God_1999 most definitely!
What do I do if Serato DJ Pro won't let me adjust the crossfader curve?
There’s a good chance that if serato is blocking it, then you can adjust it on your mixer/controller
Thanks for this bro, I will say the thing I came looking for wasn't covered; I've moved to Serato from using mixxx, pretty powerful open source software that is super customizable. One thing I'm finding is that while in mixxx I have a wide tempo range from the slider due to my settings, but in Serato I can't adjust tempo without syncing more than a few bpm. Any thoughts on how to fix this or is it hardware dependant?
No doubt man! Not 100% if understand the last part of this message which includes your question. Can you please rephrase it for me, I definitely wanna help!
Make sure to turn off the 'accept requests' feature as well.
Ahaha that is a fact! 💯💯
The serato wont let me adjust crossfader on the serato. I have that capability on my mixer but my chirp is not coming out as good compared to chirping without Serato
I think it’s usually better when you have the ability to control it on your mixer!
How come when I go into the settings tab, I don't have the "MIXER" tab? it just is not there for me? Even with my DDJ-REV1 connected?
Hmm, that’s a good question. I would think it should appear even with the Rev1. Did you ever get that solved? Or does it not have those extended settings with the Rev1?
@@DJLiftOFF turns out I just didn't have serato pro active, when u pay for it those settings come up
@@t9xlive106 ahhh didn’t think of that, thanks.
I have this question. Is it necessary for the laptop to be heating when mixing videos on serato? Coz mine is heating tho not so much
To be “heating”.. I’m not sure if I understand what you mean by “heating”.
Like the temperature of the laptop tends to get a lil bit high….and fan make some noise. Is it normal ?
Bro how up should be the cut in on the newer serato
Always the same. Cut should always be set to the fastest possible or all the way to the right for scratching!
Thank you 🎉
Hi, can you tell me how do i get the sampler effects?
Are you looking to download effects?
@@DJLiftOFF yes
4:40
why do u thing there is edit grid
I don’t always edit my grids because I’m too lazy ahah. I can see the track and mentally, I know where the grid is supposed to be.
How do I get serato for free with all controllers?
Not sure I understand what you mean!
Hey! I am trying to move the cross fader curve on fast and its not moving how to fix problem..i am using a rane 61 mixer
It’s not moving on the software??
Mlk, se pá que o canal foi hackeado
2 decimal... learned
💪🏾
Learn the music, learn the tempos, learn to mix.
Stop using software to do it all for you.
That’s definitely one way to do it
@@DJLiftOFF It''s the best way. Nothing against the software. But if you know how the music you play is constructed and you have a solid understanding of how mixing works. Then anything you do after that will be so much easier.
Too many people buy loads of expensive hardware and have no clue what to do with it and think that the software can solve it all.
Without controller this soft is shit. Try Traktor Pro last version, jaw dropping software.
I always said this, The best controllers under the sun is Pioneer, but the best Dj software is Traktor pro.
No offence Serato, but you have alot to learn and implement.
The funny thing is, Traktor has the best software and the worst Dj controller. Shame really.
Before you start writing angry replays i will tell you this. I been Dj since 1989 year, long before some "pro" dj's were even born, i know what im talking about.
It's easy these days. Any 13 year old can be a "pro" DJ. With this technique that is on the market. Rarely are those who use their ear and musical gift if they have it. Back in the day, if you didn't have talent and an ear, you didn't become a DJ. Today, any 13-year-old can become one.
hanks lot Sir.. You helping us..
Love to hear it 🙏🏾
yo bro, really thankya. Big respect
