Okay buddy: after maybe 5 or 6 tryouts for modeling a decent head, your tutorial was by far the easiest, most organized and cleanest of them all, and I've just got better results (for a begginer). So thanks a lot for uploading. Now I'm going for the ears.
This tuto is amazing! I use blender for something like 1000h and I always get essues with human head. I was a bit septic at first because all the other tuto I saw used sculpt, but i don't regret to have invest my time in this tuto, it's so far the best and the easiest I have see. No sculpt, no painfull remesh XD and the mesh at the end is encredibly clean !
Great video! Thanks. I have used blender for 20 years and today is the first time I ever used the knife tool. [Update] LOL, the first time I did this, my head looked like a puppet. The second time I did it, I intended on making a puppet, and it looked too realistic.
Breaking all the rules. Triangles all over the place. I love it. I can't wait to see how they're turned into poly's. Amazingly different way to do it. Wow. Thank you.
@@BawonoSA173 @BawonoSA173 actually I haven't created a blender video for that. But the first two videos of the channel are about creating a full character ( but in 3ds max not Blender).
I can see what did you do there. It's amazing. Can you suggest some head and anatomy basic books or courses? Cause I found a raw gold today and don't know how to clean it.
If you create the loops like that..its easier to animate the model. You can search "3D face loops" for more informations.. also you can start with those loops and connect them and create the face..
Idk if I'll get a response, but how can you see the edges and vertices on top of the sub surface modifier without applying it? Mine sink into spots on the face and it's hard to edit that way
I have learned a lot from this tutorial... However, I got stuck at 12:46 *CTRL+B* (for bevel)... My bevel did not look like your bevel... Nonetheless, I still took away some good tricks for my Blender Modeling... Thanks for sharing...
@@PolygonSquad I'm trying to follow your tut (great work, etc) closelly, but, as usual, my head keeps accumulating "errors" and the poly net becomes a mess. But I still keep trying ;). Again, thanks for your work.

@@PolygonSquad Good question I'm new to blender and face/body anatomy. Is there a golden rule of some sort to modeling a human face because it looks complicating. Every time I look at my model I get lost looking at the line, edge etc and which one to move
@@recreatingcontents5795 you can use a reference image.. or you can try lowpoly modeling first.. then it will. E easy to do derailed models.. But if you like, you can start detailed models in first time..

@@recreatingcontents5795 if you meant low poly and realistic models.. Lowpoly is easy to create.. dont have much details.. but if you do few lowpoly characters you can learn quickly..
I have a question. I was wondering if there is a way to use these methods for .stl files? I have a few models that I wouldn't mind editing to my liking, like adding eyes and fixing meshes.
@@PolygonSquad Ahh OK. I thought that maybe I could add like a UV sphere to make eyes and stuff like that. Trying that at the moment and don't know if I am doing OK lol

There are no triangles left in the end :)

thanks for the tutorial i am really struggling to follow other tutorial glad i found this
man, very nice! You are a gift for all!
Thank you
love you men. litterally the best tutorial on youtube

I seem to remember there's the body model continuation of this.

how'd you get that line with the bevel? I tried and i didnt get any line 1:56
@catz9023-m4u you can use ..Ctrl+B then use mouse scroll to add extra lines to the Bevel
Great work. Best tutorial 👌
Thanks you so much. Your video Is one of the best. I search It for long time. Thanks you again
Amazing tutorial...hope one day i can create characters learning from you.
Thank You..
I don’t understand what you’re doing with the knife at minute 1:52, and I can’t get it to do the eye slit like you do.
@@John-wy2pf actually i undo the knife cut.. and did bevel the edge. Cuz it was easy..
good tutorial. well done and easy to follow.
Thank You.
I never thought that we can model face like this
At 2:01 when I try to bevel the thing doesn’t come up. Why?
Ctrl + B for. Bevel and use mouse scorll to add more segments..
@@PolygonSquad thanks I got the thing to work but I needed segments. Big help I really appreciate the reply

You can check "Anatomy for sculptors"
@@PolygonSquad thanks you
Looks like at 6:55 theres some kind of weird gap? I think ctrl+r and add a new line from the corner of the mouth to the forehead?
Yess:).. its a loop cut (Ctrl + R)
Thank you very much. I almost lost my head trying to make one ^^'
Why did you color some portion of the model to red color at 31:00? Is there any reason?
If you create the loops like that..its easier to animate the model. You can search "3D face loops" for more informations.. also you can start with those loops and connect them and create the face..
Sry for another question but when I make up sphere there are lines around it instead of like urs and the smooth options isnt there
You mean shade smooth, you need to go to object mode instead in edit mode.
@@PolygonSquad thanks I’m still trying to figure out things in blender.
@@PolygonSquad how do I do that without selecting the entire head
Never mind figured it out
Idk if I'll get a response, but how can you see the edges and vertices on top of the sub surface modifier without applying it? Mine sink into spots on the face and it's hard to edit that way
There are few icons(Buttons) inside the modifier .. you can turn them on and off by clicking them...
Hi! Do you have easy method for full body! Like this one?
You can check my first two videos.. but it was done using 3ds max.. But modeling process is the same. I will do another video with a different method.
What happened at the 13:30 cut? Is that just a “shade smooth” command? It happens off-camera.
Yes.. Its shade smooth..
thank you! it really helped me

you could select the edge and press crrl +B ( it should work ...).. instead.. you could use cut tool(K) and create new edge without using bevel
2:05 - okay, that's already good enough for me.
Of course :)

6:57 - I noticed you didn't add this additional line in video - or Im just to tired
You can use knife tool to add that edge
