They'd probably do pretty well on Monday nights. With more sports heading to streaming or broadcast tv, cable tv would be easy to dominate even with a small hardcore fanbase like AEW has. All the big fish are leaving the pond. With the NBA going to basic broadcast tv, they've taken themselves out of competition with cable tv shows.

@@Shisui5752they won’t be on a traditional network anymore so if someone wanted to try for Monday nights, they would be running unopposed vs WWE. Netflix wouldn’t count in the ratings battles for viewers.

I think the writing is on the wall for Ricky, and that sucks… I love AEW and WWE, I will say I probably watch more weekly AEW tv, so inevitably losing Starks to WWE is going to be a really big blow. The failure to get him over this past year or so has been head scratching to say the least… maybe everyone in AEW knows he’s on his way out and they just have nothing for him? Idk… Starks is going to be a SUPERSTAR in WWE. A legit superstar

True, but they also own Ring of Honor. They have not utilized their talent in Ring of Honor enough. They could basically turn Ring of Honor into a promotion similar to NXT, which the best talent from that division gets to step up to the main AEW shows rather than just randomly showing up on AEW Dynamite or AEW Collision, then we don't see them for a while.
I want to see Ricky on tv but imo maybe he's not on t.v. because wasn't he at backlash thought I seen a pic of him there with Cody. I think it's stupid not having him out there considering all the top talent thats injured. Yet we get Jericho on every week calling himself the learning tree education shrub whatever this recreation is. I feel like im overdosing from him. Time to take some time off and give the segments that are being wasted with him and give it to the talent that can use to try to get over God knows theres plenty of them

Let’s hope it’s a 2 hour show under the ROH banner on Tuesday night to go against NXT. Give us something to watch on Tuesday. I watch triple A , New Japan and NWA. Then an all women’s show on Monday night.

MLW was dead for like 15 years and was just a podcasting website for many years. They closed up shop after a year or so of doing shows when Court was hired on to be a writer for WWE. It's "older" because it was put on ice.

For some odd reason people are interested in AEW PPV and their PPV events deliver. Problem is most folks are not invested enough into the TV shows leading up to the PPV events and after unlike WWE.

AEW should have focused on building dynamite as a credible show before trying to keep expanding shows! Tony khan biggest mistake was not giving enough time before doing these things! WWE has years of content they can shell out an any time to invest people into stuff AEW barely has their own fans fully invested to keep trying to add more wrestling or what ever they wanna do when right now wrestling is booming but it’s only so much wrestling the average person can watch each week! The casual fans work for a living 🍺

They do need another show, so we get to see the Ring of Honor wrestlers more on TV. It has basically turned into an exhibition division. We don't get to see their Ring of Honor wrestlers on TV much.

Ango, buddy, t.v. ratings still matter. I understand that we're in different times, but network channels still value ratings, b/c they represent interest in a product. If there's not enough interest generated for a product, they will not hesitate to cancel it, b/c it wouldn't make sense for them to invest their time, money, & resources into a show that's not delivering on its end. I'm not saying AEW is getting canceled b/c I don't know what WBD's goals are for their show (in terms of ratings). However, all that to say, t.v. ratings absolutely still matter to network executives.

I think his response would be that ratings are just a cog in the wheel instead of an overall indicator of interest. While fan interest is absolutely important, it is something that can be worked on for sake of seeing the forest through the trees as long as the show still has somewhat of a marketable demograhpic. There are many different pieces of the product that are being consumed in different ways/places from merch, reciprocated ad-revenue kick-backs etc. So if there are portions of the product that are filling the gap so-to-speak then it helps incentivize a wider birth for WB to give AEW. Like they're relatively a cheap "workhorse" for WB, as they have their own production crews/set props/wrestlers/travel trucks etc, and they produce brand new content through several outlets on a weekly basis, as well as bring live exposure/promotion 52 weeks a year literally all over the US and Canada. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of viewers they still do actually have. Basically they're a very cheap ubiquitous billboard lol. This is kind of where ad-revenue might outweigh fan interest when it comes to keeping AEW around, as advertisers from small to big want in on something like that just so they can get the exposure, which to the network is everything. The amount of money that goes into marketing/advertisement is absolutely bonkers and those relationships are what WB, or any network for that matter wants. It's also not a product that needs a lot of polishing/attention from the network as far as the overall production of the show, like a popular episodic show with highly paid actors/producers etc. such as Big Bang Theory might have. While the product does in fact need fan interest it isn't something that's killing the company "right now." There's just a lot of untapped/unrealized opportunity that business folk are going to want to play with to find a way to make AEW more palitable/profitable for a bit, and I believe that's why WB is all-in on AEW.
So another new show 400,000 people will watch? LOL!

Dynamite is the #1 watched show weekly on Wednesday. Collision is typically top 5 on cable. That's what matters is the rank for the night and time slot
