Fair. And in the various betas they definitely were looking for the most basic core of combat mechanics that still made mixing and matching characters meaningful. There's depth to it, it just depends on which characters you're using. This is the best review I've seen so far. It's neutral and goes straight to the point
So earlier trailers for this game showed clips of traveling through the city by jumping from buildings like spiderman, is that not a thing anymore ???
I guess you confused with project mugen. Thats another game not released yet
thats a diff game i think
@@ProkerKusaka you’re right ! Thanks, that one looks really cool.
its really tempting to play hoyo's games but i like having money to buy food...
My experience: the whole time I'm just looking forward to any opportunity for fights. Also I like the city exploration (since I really dig the setting and environment design).
Honestly….seems like a decent casual game.
So casual that enemies don't move and attack you. Insane.
@@kingsimba9513they do, pretty much same as every other gacha game.
@@kingsimba9513Probably saying that while playing on the easy difficulty
That unnecessary TV thing ruined my experience. 😢
I agree.
It is like saying in genshin/wuwa open world puzzles ruin experience
@@ProkerKusaka No, because those are part of the core experience. This isn't.
It's the snoozefest of a story that killed it for me. I'd be willing to suffer through the TV sections if there was an interesting and deep narrative at play, but that just isn't the case.
@@ProkerKusakaGI and Wuwa puzzle is only a small aspect of the game. ZZZ you have to go through more puzzles/TV than the combat itself
full-on harajuku aesthetics, combat is flashy, so flashy I sometimes miss dodges and counters.
I'm loving this game but have absolutely NO idea what is going on. Like I'm absolutely clueless.
This is the consequence of putting skip button. Players play combat, skip dialogue, play combat, move TV, walk to quest without guide and got no idea what's happening in and out of the game
Imo, I dislike the combat design of forced animation for normal attacks right when you use skill or ultimate
Honestly the way you talked about the game and the length of the review I'd have thought this game was at least an 8.
its way too small a world for the game file size lol. also the battleground design can be a little more dynamic
I think Genshin file size is big compare ZZZ only take 18gb
MiHoYo makes some of the best looking games even as someone who doesn't like anime stuff, but gacha means I'll never even touch it. I refuse to support predatory gambling mechanics.
Wow, so bold, so moving. I'm so inspired! 🤭
good for you. Gacha games really do take up your soul the longer you play them. I've been trying to reduce the gacha games in my roster, but it's hard... Better to never jump into the rabbit hole at all
Then don't buy in gacha. Simple.
Now I dunno about how MiHoYo does things these days, but calling all gacha games gambling, in our modern era that relies on pity/spark systems to avoid the gambling aspect, is ridiculous
@@watchmesquatch Maybe try being less defensive.
@@LoliconSamalik That’s such grade school level thinking. Ignoring problems doesnt make them go away.
And a pitty system doesn’t solve the issue either
I gave it a try, but it felt like there'd be some characters that I'd really love to play...and as a gacha, I know it would take me months to get and years to power-up to their full potential...yeah, no.
Brain rot
@@watchmesquatch Expand on this, am I wrong? In Genshin, you would have to stock up on primos for months to be able to, with maximum luck, get a 5* character to C6. I highly doubt they're more generous this time.
03:36 "Character portrait conversations are fully animated to convey realistic emotions" -> 3 anime people standing completely still
incorrect
I need a physical copy of this game it’s great so far
The only mistake this company is doing is not making a full priced game at this point..
Enough with the gacha bullsh*t
Develop a fully made, polished RPG.
Well tbh when it comes to business perspective, gacha game will probably earn more than full price game because of the character and weapon that u wanna get. U will need to gamble that either will u get that limited character or not. If players did not get the limited character, then player will use their currency(real money) to buy a ticket to pull the limited character until they got it.
Before anyone says why gacha game is not number one game in the world that because many players prefer triple A company game like COD or Fortnite rather than gacha game. So yeah they have more community player than the gacha game itself
@@raymondyeoh1394 Funny how your example of Triple A full priced game was Fortnite and COD. Which are the worst comparison for this genre...
Yes Gacha games will yield more money but it's out of Greed imho... This talents are being wasted in this type of games made to milk players as much money as possible.
@@vivid8979 What are you just suppost to ignore the best selling games in the world? If anything id rather these gacha games have systems similar to those games rather then ofuscating true cost of the charcters behind 3 different premium currencies and a slot machine so its that much harder for people to find out the real cost of these characters.
Idealy we would go back to the times where the best selling games were the best ones rather then the ones who could extract the most money out of people but it is what it is.
@@croper0 I dunno what your last reference of a gacha game was, but a lot of modern ones do allow you to plan and buy out characters using pity systems, so there is a "hard cost" to a lot that apply hard pity.
Maybe get it to where "TVs" could be 2 min hacking games with the team running through a zone for 10 min?
Imagine spending 2000$ on characters and you can't even see them when not in combat 😂
What? All the characters are in the game.
@@Papa_Khan they are but when you explore the overworld you don't see them, just the MC
That's a problem how? We play as the Proxies guiding each character in the hoolow world, it fits the theme and it's done correctly@@thewanderingartists
I'm fine with it honestly cause gonna be f2p
@thewanderingartists You have the right to like and dislike what you want but I don't see the issue. 🤷🏾♂️
7G- oh wait, wrong channel.
This almost feels like a successor to Honkai Impact 3rd. Glad for the smaller scale and better pacing.
ZZZ is just reskin for the supposed HI3 2.0
HI3rd has way more depth than this
These comments are making me lose braincells far faster than any gacha systems ever did
This game is gonna die fast but the r34 artists are gonna have a field day with this
@@CloudLicht the fact that it's a hoyo game and it has fun combat. I highly doubt it's gonna die. It's gonna be supported right along the other hoyo games.
Ellen Joe art has been incredibly mid so far, hopefully they kick it up a notch.
Die fast? The game already earned more revenue on jp ios in one day than WuWa's first week jp ios revenue lol
the roster looks like something from S4 leagues
I honestly feel like the game deserves a chance, as it has a decent start. I could never really get into Genshin and Honkai didn't really do everything for me. I think that, given the proper time, it could be just as popular as Genshin and Honkai in it's own way.
I hope they will make the game more difficoult
I got overhyped and, surprisingly, I'm disappointed to have wasted my data downloading this game. Almost 50GB just for a yap fest, mid button-mashing combat, and a braindead TV mode. Like, what the heck, man? What is that 50GB for? This game isn't even open-world.
Honkai star rail but a much MUCH worse sim. Universe
Yep I agree. Firstly, characters animations are too realistic that makes it weird, secondly, this is way too saturated. THIRDLY HAVENT HOYOVERSE REALIZED THAT OPEN WORLD GAMES ARE BETTER? I rather genshin impact.
This is a bot or something, acc created few days ago with only this comment, and i see a lot of same comments here
@@3I3CTRO well. Honkai star rail to be exact is a hybrid of a turn based and open world
genshin has mid button mashing combat too but ppl still hype that up 😭🤦♀️
Its nothing crazy but its fun.. expected the combat to be better.
This game gives " The World Ends with You" vibes.
1:50 - 2:13 Very interesting
The game is so awesome to walk around and just take in the world, the design. Every inch of the game has so much work put in. The music as well. Its like 95% style and 5% kind of lame combat and TV puzzles.
I have been enjoying this game more than the other hoyo games so far. But it might be because I got extremely lucky on the limited banners
Thanks for leaving an honest and mature review
People are angry with the TV mode. Is this game gonna die at it's release ? 110 gigabyte size on PC ? Is Wuwa > ZZZ ? So many questions. I love it, July started real good.
I played WuWa and did not reach 1 hour gameplay then I uninstalled because the combat I prefer to like ZZZ style and at least ZZZ main character can speak while WuWa don't.
I am going to try it. I like the combination of different elements. I am not into pure dungeon crawlers. This game has an unique style and vibe.
It's more akin to Honkai Impact 3rd.
Everytime i see a japanese hack and slash it just makes me want them to make a new Ninja Gaiden :(
If this game was combat based It'd be so sick
From what ive played the tv section lasts like five seconds frfr, just hold then directional key and hold a.
First ever journalist to spit facts
ZZZ makes genshin look like a 10/10 would play game
I spenT more time on TV...
i feel like i'm playing scarlet nexus
because it is
But worse to be fair scarlet nexus had more depth.
I'll take scarlet nexus any day over this.
I would guess that IGN rating for this game is gonna be 9/10
Guess I have to wait for this game to get more challenging I'm still going through the story in Challenger Mode and I haven't even manage to get a single character killed so far.
Always always always you reviewers whine that games are too easy when they're designed as such.
Go back to Dark Souls if you want difficulty.

Activision isn't a developer lol

How is it compared to wuthering waves?
As someone that hated WW, I’m enjoying ZZZ much more.
Mid wuwa is much better
Funny how they thought this game would be a Wuwa killer, i can see the hype dying within a week of release 😂
Shh
as a wuwa player myself i think this game respects my time better and is far more appealing.
i played both on launch and zzz definitely feels very refined.
these two to me feel like god of war ragnarok vs elden ring. so i think it just a mattter of what you prefer.
i play HSR, genshin, wuwa and this now.
they aint killing wuwa with such mid combat. it's just switch switch switch if you want to do any dmg, literally no depth. the animations feel weirdly slow for a "fast-paced" game and no animation cancelling... it's like all budget went into the special effects.
Bro not everything needs to be a killer of something that came before it they can both coexist. It's hoyoverse it's gonna have longevity just like the rest of their games.
They who?
I like it, i tried this and this game not bad
As someone who has been wanting hoyoverse to go back to the amazing combat of Honkai Impact Third I am so happy they finally did. This honestly just feels like a sequel to honkai impact 3rd to me. Not story wise, but gameplay wise. This is what I wish star rail was.
0:33 "Zenless puts several new and interesting elements together but forces you to spend the most time with the least interesting of the bunch."
Classic Hoyoverse lol. This is why I quit Genshin. Will not waste my time trying ZZZ.
This game is allegedly compatible with my phone, but it crashes after every battle. Not sure whats going on but i hope i can play it eventually...
I probably would have tried it but those really overly animated and obnoxious ads I kept getting for it turned me off.
Ngl that’s why I played on
Console to avoid the ads , it’s a lot more fun to me
@gamespot i think it would be an intresting video idea for you guys to make a video about what games the people that make these videos enjoy playing. Love you guys
Personaly i love the game and do enjoy combat and tv mode.
I been playing through challange mode and regulary use all mechanics. I cant say hollow zero feels more difficult then challange mode. What draws me into the game is the story wich rn is just building up the mysterys for later. Each chapter adds additional questions to the overarching plot also i never ran out of assist points
i wouldnt call swaying side by side "fully animated"
They just did this to rival Wuthering Waves. What they should have done is to make Genshin Impact 2
I actually like the TV mode
I've fallen asleep multiple times during the conversations. Still, i do like the combat system
bruh, this is 17gb on my phone
I started playing this and thought to myself after an hour, I could be playing persona or devil may cry....so that is what i proceeded to do. Shame as this is the only hoyoverse to interest me at all.
