If Winter has BPD it’s really big on them when their feelings are not Validated. At the same time they are dismissive of others feelings when all they can really focus on is their own feelings. When the person they love and is there safe space is not being present when they truly are down, They take it to heart. They feel like they are not important in the moment. It’s all about being heard. But Winter has to understand Chy was letting winter speak. She couldn’t engage because she cant relate to Winter.

The entire pod I felt like Chy was being so very dismissive and flippant about the topic. Being on her phone, talking about the retainer, kinda throwing her hands up like welp idk laughing, etc. literally not responding at times. I was waiting for her to be more validating, and just adding to what winter was saying and it didn’t come…until the end. I felt bad for Winter truly and although I can’t exactly relate as a black woman I fully understand what she is saying and where she is coming from. I couldn’t imagine not having a community of black people to go to events with, advocate for me, support me or simply just understand/validate my struggles …there is just so much that could have been added to the conversation on Chy’s side as a black woman regardless just on the strength of the importance of this topic. I wasn’t surprised when Winter reacted the way she did but I’m glad they talked it out and Chy apologized
I think Chy literally didn’t have anything to say. I think of myself and idk would I would’ve said to winter in the moment. The only thing I can think of is to sympathize for her. But as a dark skin woman I literally cannot place myself in her shoes even if I tried.

Some people only speak in memes - however, you should choose a better time to do that that doesn’t involve someone talking about an ongoing issue. People like that are normally ignored, and their words don’t hold much weight. People will eventually decide to not open up to you. Winter comes at her a lot and doesn’t like to take accountability (as she’s said numerous times she doesn’t like to apologize l) and comes off as a draining friend in general. Wintr’s friendships never lasts. It can’t be everyone’s fault. On the other hand chy doesn’t seem to be the type to know when to put her foot down and place boundaries between them and you can tell it’s a build up. Tbh I date a Taurus, winter is a Taurus. They talk a lot. And they repeat stories. Im sure chy cares, it’s just she’s used to Winter talking for long periods of time. Taurus’ really are known for oversplaining and going in grave detail in every story they tell.
I can relate to Chy in a way . Sometimes idk how to respond to people sometimes during serious conversations. I get uncomfortable or I just shut down because I’m not sure what to say or don’t want to say the wrong thing so I just try to be a listening ear . Chy seems like a laugh to keep from crying person. They are inseparable so it seems like she should know that knowing she’s met her grandmother and seen pictures. I totally feel Winter during this episode. I think because Winter was so vulnerable, it was frustrating that Chy wasn't reading the room and I know what that feels like. Even though the topic is unrelatable to me, I think Winter would have appreciated it if Chy was vulnerable about how it makes her feel as a friend of someone going through this emotional turmoil online. I also think it was obvious that Chy was checked out by being on her phone and commenting about Winter's retainer (in addition to the "black queen" joke). Obviously, Chy wasn't coming from a malicious place and I adore them both. But it was definitely a series of things that made Winter break down and I appreciate Chy apologizing and taking accountability for being dismissive.🤍

As the father of an adopted bi-racial daughter, I so appreciated this much needed conversation. Colorism is a scale. Dark skin women of color struggle to reconcile Western standards of beauty and their own and identity. Conversely, fair skin women constantly have their group worthiness questioned. So in that regard dark skin and fair skin women have the SAME difficult journey of defining their ethnic place in Western society. That journey is what makes you sisters. By definition, if you are a descendent of a slave guaranteed you are biracial. To me black is black. So the next time someone says "You had it easier" reply "Have you ever experienced the pain of having your blackness questioned? Different journey same pain".
Before I say this, I love Chy & I know she means well & sometimes you can’t really empathize what you never went through. I feel bad for winter her demeanor is in constant defense mode maybe it would be best for her to take a break from social media since that’s the main source of her constantly getting bullied, or attacked…and She can’t expect Chy to understand exactly how Wynter feels as she’s mentioned before that she doesn’t deal with what winter deals with so it’s hard for her to really know what up…

I really appreciate watching this video. I don't feel like Chy needed to say more than what she did and I think a lot of us biracial people feel like we need to be saved.. but it isn't chy's place to be your savior. I love how you kept checking in with her and she shared her experience of having sisters and family that are of different complexion. This goes to the notion that black really does come in different shades. And to your point, it is really tough trying to find a community when the communities have such a morbid history. It almost feels like having to emotionally micromanage when in each setting when the politics of race comes up in any social setting. Every day I unlearn my own self-hate and I want to do it for my lineage. I desire to break my own generational curses and I think doing my part in all of this will be helpful. There’s a thing in psychology called the MBTI personality test. I can guarantee that Chy processes the world in a more logical/straightforward way, where as winter processes things in a more emotional/feeler kind of way. This is a major difference and something they are going to have to work through. They have really good communication between each other. Love the podcast!

I am Mexican as can be and I almost cried listening to this episode. I have a sister who would have had the exact same reaction as Chai because sometimes your best friends/sisters don’t know how to respond to something that affects you so deeply. I see those same sister traits in both of you. I can see how much you both care for each others feelings. Not everyone is as level headed as you both to be able to talk through hard conversations like these and especially not in the public eye. If Winter has BPD it’s really big on them when their feelings are not Validated. At the same time they are dismissive of others feelings when all they can really focus on is their own feelings. When the person they love and is there safe space is not being present when they truly are down, They take it to heart. They feel like they are not important in the moment. The entire pod I felt like Chy was being so very dismissive and flippant about the topic. Being on her phone, talking about the retainer, kinda throwing her hands up like welp idk laughing, etc. literally not responding at times. I was waiting for her to be more validating, and just adding to what winter was saying and it didn’t come…until the end. I felt bad for Winter truly and although I can’t exactly relate as a black woman I fully understand what she is saying and where she is coming from. I couldn’t imagine not having a community of black people to go to events with, advocate for me, support me or simply just understand/validate my struggles …there is just so much that could have been added to the conversation on Chy’s side as a black woman regardless just on the strength of the importance of this topic. I totally feel Winter during this episode. I think because Winter was so vulnerable, it was frustrating that Chy wasn't reading the room and I know what that feels like. Even though the topic is unrelatable to me, I think Winter would have appreciated it if Chy was vulnerable about how it makes her feel as a friend of someone going through this emotional turmoil online. I also think it was obvious that Chy was checked out by being on her phone and commenting about Winter's retainer (in addition to the "black queen" joke). Obviously, Chy wasn't coming from a malicious place and I adore them both. But it was definitely a series of things that made Winter break down and I appreciate Chy apologizing and taking accountability for being dismissive.🤍

As the father of an adopted bi-racial daughter, I so appreciated this much needed conversation. Colorism is a scale. Dark skin women of color struggle to reconcile Western standards of beauty and their own and identity. Conversely, fair skin women constantly have their group worthiness questioned. So in that regard dark skin and fair skin women have the SAME difficult journey of defining their ethnic place in Western society. That journey is what makes you sisters. By definition, if you are a descendent of a slave guaranteed you are biracial. To me black is black. So the next time someone says "You had it easier" reply "Have you ever experienced the pain of having your blackness questioned? Different journey same pain".

I don't feel like Chy needed to say more than what she did and I think a lot of us biracial people feel like we need to be saved.. but it isn't chy's place to be your savior. I love how you kept checking in with her and she shared her experience of having sisters and family that are of different complexion. This goes to the notion that black really does come in different shades. And to your point, it is really tough trying to find a community when the communities have such a morbid history. It almost feels like having to emotionally micromanage when in each setting when the politics of race comes up in any social setting. Every day I unlearn my own self-hate and I want to do it for my lineage. I desire to break my own generational curses and I think doing my part in all of this will be helpful. There’s a thing in psychology called the MBTI personality test. I can guarantee that Chy processes the world in a more logical/straightforward way, where as winter processes things in a more emotional/feeler kind of way. Apologizing with “I’m sorry that you felt that way” can still be dismissive… and can take away from taking accountability from hurting someone’s feelings😕 I’m sure Chy is an amazing friend and did not mean to intentionally hurt her feelings. A lot of people aren’t aware of the choice of words when apologizing. Its definitely something we should all be mindful of and work on.

Chy didn’t want to overstep, and I understand that. It’s rare, but it’s right to admit that you don’t know someone else’s experience. She said she empathizes but doesn’t understand.
They genuinely have a healthy relationship and communicate well. Love that for them. It’s rare people are this raw these days
I mean, what do y'all want from Chy? She listened and gave her cohort the entire show to address her issue. But as a friend she can only do so much.

@@Val3nciagawinter was also coming for Chy from the beginning. She kept that attitude towards her the whole time. She never let it go.
Winter needs the support of her friend. I don’t think Chy’s intention was to be dismissive but thats how it came off. You don’t have to personally go through something to empathize with your friend and give your undivided attention.
