I'm floored by this news. I come to his channel every time I'm lost on the pulsar 23 to get inspiration, what a legend and a master of the art of sound.
When someone asks you "what instrument do you play?" You reply "the pulsar 23." Well done. I think the pulsar is changing electronic live music and taking it to the next phase and you are at the forefront. I’ve always been a synth (keys) kinda guy but this is the future.
I bit the bullet… I can relate though… it's quite the learning curve to flow with P23 and those who do sounds like this 👆🏽. If you like learning new instruments, you won't regret it… stretches the brainium.
Love the atmosphere, the textures.. its alive! +1 for the video explanation -> how do you to get 5 voices like there is at the same time on the Bass Channel : the drone modulated bass and also the percussion mode? Makes me wanna jam too Thanks 🙏
I’ve been using pulsar via keystep pro midi for a while now. Usually there are no issues. Only when recording in daw there’s noticeable clock jitter. I have erm multiclock to take care of this problem.
Circuit bend a Casio and add some overdrive and reverb and roll in all the money you’ve saved 😂 Seriously though nice grooves. 👍 Soma are certainly a pretty unique company
The machine is sick but the inability to use midi or 1v/oct cv for bass drum pitch is a huge miss imho. Makes most of the patches I hear online quite monotonicand the kick itself (amp and pitch envelopes) are not that interesting.
I couldn’t agree more on not having the 1v/oct pitch tracking on the kick module. There are some workarounds and tricks to get the envelopes sound right through.
@@Strepite do you use an external sequencer? If so, increased voltage on kick trigger will produce more pronounced transient. If you link kick drums trigger to another voice, you can use a second envelope to effect pitch modulation. Run your trigger sources through through 0.1 pin on top left corner it will further shorten the size of the trigger signal, envelopes become a lot snappier this way. Another one is to take the audio output of the kick module and apply to pitch mod. You can make some interesting kicks this way.
I’m happy to have inspired you to buy the pulsar 23. It truly is a great machine. I know it’s difficult to get the sound right sometimes. But, you’ll get it. I’m sure. If there are questions you have or you’d would like me to explain specific things, please let me know. I’m planning on making a video to explain the patch and answer questions.
R.I.P Sonic Junkie - still loving this, your music will live on forever
So damn tragic, he was a true master of the craft!
Sad to hear such an amazing talent had their time cut short on this earth. A truly special spirit. RIP

really nice piece, had me thinking of Fluke - Atom Bomb.
Oldie but Goldie!! Loved Fluke stuff. Thanks for tuning in
That was great!!
Thanks!! Cheers
Nice! Thanks for the demonstration.
🙏
Absolutely superb!
Nice one!
It is jams like these that make me want the Pulsar23. Great Job! But then I hear other demos and I think its not worth the 2 g's lol
Definitely a tough decision to make. Unlike some other piece of gear I own or owned, I can’t say I have regrets with this one.

Will post the video one I get a chance to record. Thanks for tuning in.
Are you just using the Pulsar kick by itself? Love the pulsar but kick as always been lacking for me but in this vid it sounds great!
Hey, the baseline and the kick both are generated by the kick module. I used the walrus audios - Eons to give that extra crunch and texture
how the f you make that sound so good!
are you using like distortion sends on mixer ond other outboard gear?
For this one I was using the fuzz pedal Eons, by walrus audio. Gave that extra crunch
nice doggy
Awesome beat!!! Are you using Midi?
Thanks Stephen!! Yes, I’m using midi for sequencing.
@@SonicJunkie argh cool, I was worried the latency from Midi to Pulsar would be noticeable

I’ll have to look into that. I’ve always been interested in circuit bending but haven’t had time to dive into it. Maybe it’s time.

@@SonicJunkie Thank you, I have many external sequencing options, will experiment!
