I have told Adam Garza ever since his first video that Storytelling IS his gift. He makes way too many POV videos. Your videos are So engaging. Keep up the good work.
This was really a great video and articulated why SO MANY other videos arent engaging....even bike part videos that are just a grind to get to the usable information. Bravo
Yeah I stopped short of naming those bigger channels haha. I still watch some of those bigger pov channels, but more like background noise because they aren't engaging
Thanks Chris!! Yeah and as I mention that in the video, I had pressed a button on the lav putting it into "noise reduction" mode and it made the audio sound like crap. I didn't realize until I was at home 💀
Well… this was awesome! Great job man. Absolutely loved this video, from start to finish. So many great tips but for me, the biggest takeaway is the question of do I really want to put this much effort into my videos/channel? Because you’re right, these type of videos are the way to go nowadays (for maximum views) Oh, yea… I’ll be buying the X4 now. Was on the fence but you convinced me 😊 thanks
Haha it's funny I was going to end the video with that question. Like an honest question to yourself, what are you making videos for? To have it replaced your job? For fun? Sometimes it takes a few years of grinding to find out that answer
Idk man, I dont watch much MTB content but I like Nate Hills' POV videos even more because they dont have any narration. Maybe he's the exception because some other channels narration and stories i just dont care for.
He's that exception that I mention. Pro rider, riding crazy stuff. But his views are also way down. The only pov guy I watch routinely is Skills with Phil and he's in the same boat 😞
@@EvansMTBSaga I see that now, thanks. Wife and I are planning on moving to Rogers this spring. Have to get away from this snow! Just joined your channel membership as well.
Very cool Evan! Thanks for the information I think my biggest problem is I get out there do drone footage or chest footage ect then I am too lazy to edit it haha this definitely gave me some ideas
Nicely done! I gotta step up my UA-cam game 😁I got a few GoPros and unique mounts but there is only so much you can do. It’s made me want to stop videoing altogether sometimes with all the work that goes into it. People don’t see that. I only have about 2600 subscribers as of now, but enjoy making the content still. I don’t have time to travel to all these exotic or popular locations and it seems my channel is getting stale (to me). Maybe I’ll look into the Insta 360 and see if that helps 😎 Thanks for sharing
Yeah it's a lot of work! I just checked out your channel. Titles and thumbnails are extremely important and making a thumbnail with a photo editor will take about 90 min or more. Super important for video performance
Did you just read my mind? 😅 just bought yesterday a insta 360 x 4, and those advices just come in handy, but i don't make the video to youtube but dor my self
I don’t care about making videos and have never ridden with an action camera. But I watched this, commented, and liked it because I know it helps you out to make the real good stuff!
Thanks for the tips bro, I normally do POV but will definitely be experimenting more. Also I have been using the GoPro Max but it’s hit or miss with the footage so I think it’s time to move away and use the Insta 360 🤙😎👌
Boy, I prefer my 9-5 job over all this work with editing and stuff. Aren't you afraid that at some point you will no longer have a material or story to shoot? It's hard to be a youtuber imho. Good luck Evan! You seem like a good dude 👍
Haha it's crazy to think I haven't ran of ideas. But Ive chosen a niche of bike upgrades and the subject matter is always there with how many brands and parts there are. I could see me running out of ideas if I'm just a pov riding type
@@EvansMTBSaga The bike stuff must be a lot of fun. I love upgrading mine and hate when I get bored with it 🙂 The filming and editing though...I couldn't do that. 😏
I have their Ace Pro and honestly like it more than my GoPro11; they just offer more features and doesn't overheat like my GoPro does. Loosing footage due to a shutdown is the hardest part of content creation.
I love your content when i started watching you i tought that you had like 1mil subs but when i looked i was shocked that your videos are so good even though you are small UA-camr
Yeah subscriber counts don't matter at all anymore with the introduction of Shorts. It used to be a big deal. You had lots of subs - UA-cam recommended you more. Now it's about consistent view counts only. I actually think that high subscribers and pulling low views actually hurts the channel
So I’ve been making videos for some time now. And it’s been tough to get a lot of views. I really like this video. I think it was a lot of good information. I really like your rule of if you run up to something three times that’s it, makes a lot of sense because if you push something that you’re not ready for just winds up going bad. I actually was getting ready to buy a new GoPro and I think I’m gonna check out this camera instead. I’ve been using that rule for a while that if you get bored while you’re editing people watching will get bored maybe I heard it on your channel I don’t remember where I heard it from.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I just checked out your channel. Nice new polygon ebike! Your thumbnails need work. Compare them to mine for reference. That's like a movie poster to get people interested. Getting them to click is the hardest part, no matter how good your video is. I like your style of video though, you could make it far with your unique style
I got the insta 360 ace pro than the ace pro 2 came out like a month later lol. I just like to film some of my rides and races so I can tag my bike sponsor
That motorcycle mount with the stick is a game changer for me. I've tried to do that with many brands and it never held up. Super happy with it. I got the rotors by the way! Was a little late checking the mail haha. Thanks a ton
I only make vertical when I'm super inspired and can make it compelling. Long form is the best. In the video I said you can grow an audience fast with vertical, but they can also lose relevance super fast
I’ve been seriously considering getting the insta 360 x4 for a long time but my problem with it is it looks like it would be really annoying on top of my helmet which is where I would mount it and I’m just wondering if anyone can tell me how much you can really feel it when riding chunk taking big hits and just riding
Oh yeah I haven't tried that mount. I know a lot of people use chin mounts for the X4. I have a light mounted on a helmet and I know I had to move the mount a few times to center the weight on my head better
The 360° footage is easy to edit once you hit the "direction lock" button when appropriate. There's a learning curve as with everything, but it adds about 30min to my post production workflow
Same. I did that drop a few years ago but hadn’t since. But on this trip it was all fixed up and ready to go. This might be the only feature in bville that you have to BRAKE into. I did not get the memo. ua-cam.com/video/YpwhiHFqxaI/v-deo.htmlsi=mmwCt651TO4VPyM6

I think you might have just made one of the best, most informative, and entertaining ad video of all time. I hope Insta360 paid you well.
Thanks Jake! I'm really happy with how it turned out, even though it might not get big views.
@@EvansMTBSaga You are so underrated Evan! love your videos!
I have told Adam Garza ever since his first video that Storytelling IS his gift. He makes way too many POV videos. Your videos are So engaging. Keep up the good work.
He also has the most floppy chest mount I've ever seen lol
Okay okay, I’ll tighten up the chesty 😅

Excellent video with a bunch of tips for creators. I am very glad you mentioned the importance of quality audio.

Badass bro. The bone yard is the only thing i have to check off as well. The shots of that drop were dope!
Commenting for the algoritm cause you asked support in the previos video 👍
Thanks Eli I appreciate it!
Same!
I have the x3 and I absolutely love it. So many options for getting creative with my shots
All true: stories, whether verbal or purely visual (lot of work) are the best.
I am still not convinced about vertical format. Never have.

It’s funny how that rock on the run up and smaller landing makes this worse than drop the hammer. Great video. 👍🏼
Yeah totally! Now that I finally did it, I'll say they ride & feel very similar
@ good to know. Maybe I can hit the boneyard drop now! Thanks!
As someone who just started uploading simple riding videos this has helped a lot. Thank you!

I wanted to check the 360 camara for a while, thanks to your video i'm now certain that this is the way to go for gatting some MTB videos.

Great video. Entertaining, educational, informative. Well done.
You should use carbon fiber invisible stick.its more lighter and does not put pressure on the clamp.
Mine is the carbon one though. I have the other non carbon one, but the carbon one is so light and sturdy
Great tips, feeling surprisingly inspired

@EvansMTBSaga how about a reply to really get it going ;)
Yo great vid man!
what computer do you use? Great video
I built my own PC. Way cheaper that way

I just checked out your channel. You ride really awesome stuff. Do a little talking, describe what you're doing. Ask people to comment
thank you so much this really helps
What helmet were you wearing? Looks so cool!
Troy Lee helmet! Im not sure of the model. Super comfy!

I’m making Mtb videos and I’m going to Bentonville next year and I would love to ride with u
Does the chest mount you use for the camera work without the bag?
I love Mtb ❤
I’ve had a hard time figuring out how to edit my x3 footage to be more useable
The game changer for me was making sure Direction Lock was clicked for mounted or POV shots. Way less key framing
Any future hardtail videos??
No plans at this time. The Hardtail videos don't really get views unfortunately
A video with a story about making videos with a story. 🤯
Heck yeah that's what I was going for!!! I was really excited to make it like inception/behind the scenes
I definitely need to get me a Camera...
They should do security cams I just updated some of ours around the property and TBH it's still pretty much, shit 😂
Haha yeah security cameras are lagging behind so bad
What is your favorite X4 accessory?
Also, I gave up on GoPro. They always turn off and ruin the flow.

Great video,.
i'm the only one who watches evan just for the builds and skip the riding?
According to my analytics, about 20% of people stop watching after I'm done building it
now i need an insta!😂
Oh yeah I didn't get to explore using mine chest mounted doing DH runs. The X4 really shines doing that
super dumb question..... Where you using multiple cameras or just multiple runs all edited together ?
Multiple runs!
What chesty mount is that.
Uswe bag, link in the description. Its the absolute best in the world
