Day 1 of asking gameranx to change the countdown animation background to black so we can watch these videos before sleep and not get blasted with white light.

Open world and POIs were not a problem of Valhalla.
It was the fact that there was literally no point of going to any of them.
"Oh look! That's an amazing looking ruins filled with enemies! I bet there's cool treasure at the end!"
BAM! 20 pieces of wood/stone...
This. I'd expect to find legendary gear or something in places. Make it worth my effort to explore.
Valhalla's open world was trash imo. Horribly designed

I’m hoping the game takes place at the great war before Edo period ended and you can maybe play a character that’s similar to Himura Kenshin who’s an assassin that works for Katsura
Easiest $120 I ever saved.
Easiest $70 I ever spent 💀
So when you decide not to buy something that costs 60/70 you tell yourself you saved double that? Interesting budgeting technique
Weirdos man, just do what you do with gamepass, get a 1 month sub to Ubisoft+, beat the game in 2 weeks and cancel Ubisoft+, all ubisofts games will be $17.99 for me, including DLC
When you don’t want to buy something do you always let random people you’ve never met know?
Were you planning to buy the game twice before you found out about the Black samurai?

Synchronize* Come on! It rhymes!!!
If you go on a mission in the Springtime, you have to complete random allergy QuickTime events to see if your character sneezes while sneaking up on a target
hope ubisoft hired you
no way this is real 💀
It be nice , I would love something like it
MGS1 did this before most people watching this were born. You could catch a cold and randomly sneeze, alerting the guards. The only way to fix it was to find rare cold meds or your playthrough was kind of ruined.
Good thing they're the ones trained to be Shinobi and Samurai instead of an allergy-prone snowflake like you.
Yasuke was real, but he was merely a servant of Nobunaga, not a legendary samurai.
The Japanese people are angry that UBI is falsifying Japanese history while touting it to the world as historical fact.
Incorrect, Yasuke was an enslaved bodyguard for Italian missionary, Alessandro Valignano.
As recorded in the diary of the samurai Matsudaira Ietada, he was 6ft 2 which was far larger than the average Japanese person at the time. After meeting Nobunaga he impressed him with his ability to speak Japanese and skills as a soldier. It would make complete sense to have Yasuke as a servant and a combatant for his strength and size alone… use your mind.
Nobunaga granted Yasuke his Japanese name (which wouldn’t have occurred if he was simply a servant as it is an honor), accepted him into his service, and made him the first recorded foreigner to receive the title of samurai. Yasuke was also one of the few people who dined with Nobunaga, which demonstrated the closeness of their relationship. He served Nobunaga until he committed seppuku and then his son Oda Nobutada until his defeat. Not much is known post that.
@@ianshaanThere is no record of Yasuke being able to speak Japanese or having a taste for some martial arts before he met Nobunaga(February 1581).
Nobunaga's naming Yasuke is not particularly honorable, as it was just an easy name for the Japanese to pronounce at the time.
Nobunaga did not give Yasuke the title of samurai. When a samurai is given a title, he is also given a family name, but Yasuke does not have a family name. No family name = no samurai.
After the Honnoji Incident(June 1582), Akechi Mitsuhide released Yasuke, whom he had captured. If Yasuke had been a samurai under Nobunaga, Mitsuhide would have ordered him to be beheaded or commit seppuku. However, since Yasuke was not a samurai, he was released.
After his release, Yasuke was temporarily placed in the custody of the Nanban Temple, but no record of his subsequent care remains.
Yasuke served Nobunaga for only about one and a half years, and there is no record that he participated in any battles or made any achievements during that time.
The history you know is a history fabricated by Thomas Lockley or UBI.
@@dingdongdang3944Yasuke was a samurai, that is a historical fact. He also took part in a battle. The fact the rest of his life isn’t documented doesn’t mean he didn’t do anything else, and gives Ubisoft creative freedom. You being salty about a black character in this game is telling. Cry more loser.
@@dingdongdang3944 Nice comment. I'm so sick of these corporate simps saying we the gaming community complain too much. Well at least most of us don't want to felate Ubisoft.

Hopefully once you break the armor the enemies are one or two shot. It would be way more immersive that way than most other games.
Not necessarily but probably
Exactly. When I heard that, my immediate thought was "oh great more health bars".

@@mtnman8783 I say it whenever I review an Ubisoft game on Microsoft store or steam. AC Mirage, Skull n Bones, etc.
Eh. The thing about Ubisoft is, they add features other games already had years ago and then be like: “Yo we completely revamped the franchise”. With origins it was also “Yeah we’re gonna make it like the witcher”. But ya, nothing in that game was as deep as in The Witcher 3. So instead of adding new features or improving on existing video game features, they just add features from other games and make them mid af.

@@itay9345 Because of the release now, patch later mentality

There’s only one reason they offer this ridiculous pre-order pricing; people will pay it. If I could sell worthless crap for hundreds of pounds I’d do it as well. Ubi are a business not a charity after all - if you don’t like it don’t buy it and it’ll go away.
Biggest thing you NEED TO KNOW, wait until it comes out and see if it is any good.
A lot of things sound too good to be true from Ubisoft
I’m thinking the same thing. If they’re able to pull it off, it will be great but, it’s Ubisoft. 🤷🏾♂️
Nah, this is a hard pass for me.
If you tolerate this your children will be next.
Nah don’t buy it at all
@@ZinoAmarewhy are you hating on the game when we haven’t seen any gameplay and all the leaks are positive.
@@HahahMamaman You know why
I’m not a fan of the non-linear target system. Really takes away from the story if you’re the one doing the progression. I think origins did it pretty nicely where you knew your targets but unlocked more as you hunted them. The idea that you can just pop around and take out any target whenever really kills the pacing.
Gives the speedrunners something to mess around with though
@@daggern15 ya but developers don't develop games with speed running in the forefront of their mind lol nor should they. Its supposed to appeal to a wide audience.
@@ShinobiDrip999 Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that as if it's a selling feature for the mass market, it's simply a fact of how it presently exists. But keep in mind the operative word is 'supposed'. Ubi doesn't have a good track record over the past ~7 years. I'm very much hoping they're starting to learn the lesson of aiming for wide public appeal isn't going to work out in the long run. A lot of the original AC fans have moved on after seeing their beloved franchise's corpse being sockpuppeted several games in a row and this kitchen sink of mechanics and features doesn't hold the attention of the 'new shiny' crowd for long when the 'we have X at home' is better than the newest offering. Personally, I'm in the first camp and am simply here out of morbid curiosity. I already know I won't be buying this other than from the bargain bin at best and a lot of the comments I've seen echo that same sentiment.

Ubisoft will never recreate the magic of the older Assassin's Creed games. The franchise died with Desmond Miles.
He is my favorite. Everyone is all up on Ezio. First game what made me fall in love with the game.
Altair, Ezio, Connor, Edward and most importantly Desmond. I truly enjoyed all these characters and they're stories even tho Edward was really just a badass pirate that had nothing to do the assassins. Black Flag wasn't an AC title in spirit but it was an amazing pirate game. That said Altair & Desmond will always be my favs with the original story, closely followed by Ezio. RIP Assassins Creed
Controversial but true
Facts. Also they really dropped the ball with Desmond and ac3 because they majorly rushed the game
Wrong
Marking waypoints sounds like it works like ghost recon wildlands/breakpoint; get to a vantage point and look out to identify points of interest. Also sounds like they are taking the stealth / prone elements from ghost recon too, although the shadow meter sounds like Splintercell.
I hope Shadows ends up being a really good version of Tenchu Z. Shame Shadows doesn't have co-op though.
Would be cool if they had a revenge system like Shadow of Mordor/War. Would also be cool if they make the assassins network like Metal Gear Solid V, where you can technically play the game with a soldier you've recruited.
There is a shadow system in the GR games too. It's not as in depth as Splinter Cell, but being within a shadow increases the time it takes for enemies to recognize you, doesn't affect spotting distance though.
@@Maclues For sure. There was also the cloaking ability you could unlock that would increase the detection time. Would be great if Shadows also took the immersion from Ghost Recon; the covering yourself in mud/snow/dirt feature from Breakpoint.
Would be cool if Ubi did a lot of actually creative stuff but they’re content with releasing watered down versions of the Witcher at the moment 😂
REMINDER: This is a Ubisoft game. They don't deserve your money.
$130 for the full experience as they are locking quest(s) behind the ultimate edition just like they are doing for Star Wars Outlaws.

I really wish they would introduce special assassinations like in Syndicate. It was fun doing those.
To be clear, a company called sweet baby inc. Is connected to this title, and they have a habit of toxicity towards people who don't support their "vision" of forcing foreign cultures into places and roles they were never supposed to be, likely why the main male character is a samurai even though he wasn't actually one in history, they also have members who have been very public about standing against Japanese ideals and culture, which has lead people to believe that, and these following words are not my own "blackwash" a prominent and honored role in Japanese culture. There were black, white, and many other peoples in Japan, and they could of fulfilled any number of roles as a main character or a supporting cast. But it hurts to see a role of honor just get given to someone because their real life counterpart was colored and that supports the companies image and ideals.
Using dead people to force an opinion is shameful.

It’s basically a yearly franchise now they should just start calling it Assassin’s Creed 2K25
It was a yearly franchise from ac2 to ac syndicate. Then it became non yearly. The only reason it’s yearly this time is because shadows didn’t need more than 4 years of development.
I would assume the “brotherhood” aspect will be like Far Cry 6 where you can recruit the spies by rescuing or helping them in quests and once they’re rostered they just become a picture in your spy network page with various skills, then the missions will have a generic description that help you choose which skills would be most effective. A fun aspect, but nothing to write home about.
All I can say is, buy this if you want, but even the physical edition needs an internet connection to install. Meaning, the physical edition is basically worthless. In five years when Ubisoft inevitably revokes your right to play what you paid for NO COMPLAINTS! You know their track record. You can spend your money however you want, its yours, you earned it. But support this kinda stuff, and you have NO right to complain years later when you can no longer play.
I think you meant 15 years from now. Anyway if I was still playing this game five years from now, it’s the best game ever made and was worth the money.
@@HahahMamaman I care about preservation. I've been playing games since the mid 80s. I can still play those mid 80s games to, and sometimes I do. So, to each their own I guess.
Seriously? What modern game doesn't require an install? I'd rather buy ac shadows instead of black ops 6 anyway. At least with ac shadows you get a 30, probably 50 hour game instead of one with a 5 hour campaign.
@@danielmoung9098 Quite a few, actually, and even if you do get the 1.0.0 version on the disc/cart, it might have some bugs, sure, but very VERY rarely is it so game breaking you can't finish it.
If you too broke for internet just say that
My 1 problem about playing as yasuke that he is known to history. We are meant to play as a hidden one. One who is in the shadows of the history book. I think this game could be 10x better if they just focused on the single female shinobi.
My head cannon is that the templars tried to erase him from history, which is why he barely has any information about him from that time period
You don’t even know how they tackled the story and already claiming it “can’t work”. Having 2 characters actually gives you multiple perspectives?
@@gunplakiwihigh expectations from Ubisoft
Pretty sure it went down like that:
We need a character. Ideas?
How about a women, that's super inclusive and stuff.
But the male audience won't like that. We need a man.
How about we add a man as well. A samurai but he's black lol.
A black samurai? Nobody will buy that.
I know, but hear me out: there was a SINGLE BLACK SAMURAI who is known to history, that's the way we can do it!
All right, so a ninja woman and a historical black samurai it is. Perfect, we are such a modern company!
@@toonixno need to be mad it’s just brown pixels vs white pixels. Just mod him into a white man so you can play comfortably 😂
Also, I wonder how far the shadows mechanic will go in this assassin Creed game because there’s certain mechanics that been advertised before and you only get to see it through like one or two missions in the game then you probably never get to use it again
I haven’t played an AC since Origins. Finally looking forward to play one again. I used enjoy the Assassins +templars+aliens and pieces of Eden stuff/ story from the first ones. I know it’s not the same nowadays, but I have no idea if there’s still some connection to that ?
Cannot wait to see this samurai blend into crowd of 1,65 cm japaneese man.
No just call it what it is man... You can't wait to see a 6-foot two black man blend into a room full of 5 ft 7 Japanese men.
Cannot wait to see this samurai blend into crowd of 108IQ japaneese man.
a black man killing asians. Us simulator kek
Considering he was a real historical figure I’m sure they’ll figure it out
not a samurai in basically Lords armour
Make an authentic Samurai game in Japan.
Ubisoft: Nah, let's DEI the hell out of this.
This comment should have a lot more upvotes
even without the DEI drama, AC is dead. theg are just copying award winning/trending games on previous year and water it down until it feels bland. hence making it feels so mid. and the story, whoever they're hiring, they must be fired. not even comparable to 7/10 story from AC 1 or 2.
"somebody killed the daimyo, quick find anyone suspicious"...
*big tall black guy and a women with a katana blending in the crowd*
Getting old🙄
Yeah, nothing screams "I'm not suspicious" like a guy dressed in hooded robes from the previous games.
I almost got a heart attack when you mentioned "seasons"
10 years ago when I imagined how a Japan assassin's creed would look like that wasn't it
That would actually be way better if both protagonists were assassins and *Japanese*
Did you like ac revelations?
You're right the game would be better with two redundant characters
@@nahnahnahnahnah8934Ubisoft could have made the game about Hattori Hanzo who was both a Samurai and Shinobi. I think it is at least less redundant than randomly inputting Yasuke where we know almost nothing about, just because Sweet Baby inc. wants more politically charged "inclusivity".
This game is already 5-10 years late no point in still complaining about it.
I've played every AC game and every DLC involved. I even played those crappy chronicle games and the mobile games. I love the franchise but it has run stale. I will wait a year or two when this game is $10
With the seasons, do you think there will be seasonal gear to interchange?
The sync thing just sounds like using the drone on Wildlands/Breakpoint to mark the question marks
What i want is better and smarter enemy AI and more emphasis on the stealth/assassination, even metal gear solid 5 had better AI and stealth than any recent AC games.
Make clothes affect camoflage, black clothing in darkness, brown clothing is better in dirt/wooden area, green in grass and foliage etc.
Make enemy search for far longer if we're spotted, once you're compromised everyone who was told about you in the location should be on guard, no more oblivion "Huh, must be the wind..." kind of npc after you sit in the corner for 30 second.
While that may be more realistic, it would seriously hurt gameplay. People want to be able to wear whatever clothes they think are cool. They also don’t want to have to wait to continue the mission.
Definitely looking forward to this launching around my birthday! 🎉
Haha,me too,am hyped. Looking great so far. I skipped Mirage but this will be day 1 and its around my Birthday too ❤
👍
Honestly, I can't help but get excited about this. This game definitely has potential, nd if done right, it could be a really good game.
Patiently awaiting Samarai and they can’t even give you a Japanese samarai
the fact ubi is slapping the title assassin's creed on this is imho downright disrespectful
Not at all. We obviously are in the AC universe.
I'd say that bout Origins thru Valhalla since they're RPGs n have disrespected the modern day story n by extension, the OG fans.
@@DatNygma Origins is better than a handful of the older games.
@DatNygma i thought origins was decent wasn't as great as the others, but to be fair, i just like it cuz I'm a fan of anything to do with eqypt
If you are saying this with all your mind power . Then you didn’t understand what ac games about
I want assassin creed of old but expanded upon with splinter cell esque stealth and a more viscreal combat more like tushima

@@in4mus85 Tom Henderson is never wrong. I doubt he will be this time
As an older AC fan (the first ones made) I feel like when we saw the parkour and immersive and beautiful landscapes to explore it was basically a no brainer to do a japanese AC.. to leave it until 10 odd years later just seems a little too late now that there are already really great feudal japan samuraiesque games out there
This game is made by Ubi Quebec which developed syndicate and Odyssey which in my opinion were the most beautiful games and also had the most fluid animations so i have a little hope that the game at least will be beautiful and animations will be fluid.
"mild"
You know, the mild controversy that EVERYONE is talking about and WHOLE Japan hates
No big deal
People wanted to play as a japanese person, not as some african foreigner. And no, Naoe doesn't count since she's a shinobi, not your typical samurai, something which Yasuke never was. He was only a court curiosity and held Nobunaga's swords at the most, like some kind of pet
The samurai will probably have the stance system from for honor IF theyre taking any combat notes from GoS
Genuinely excited about this one if the story is decent this will be a great time

Okay I get what they’re doing, give the older ac fans a really classic assassin style character and appeasing newer fans with a super hero style character. Hope it works out.
When he first mentionned "SEASONS" I was like "Oh no, a battlepass again", was pleasantly surprised
I would be excited if they just scrapped this ESG garbage and went for the actual AC roots... they had the biggest shot and they fucked already everything up with predatory pricing schemes and MT and also the ESG BS they went for... I'm not buying this even if the gameplay itself is top notch which I doubt it since it's ubisoft we are talking about(will most likelly be a huge empty world with mindless copy pasted chores to do...
I haven’t played any AC games since syndicate so can you explain what ESG is?
@@mniakan754woke shit.
ESG is a social credit score for business to make sure they are checking boxes and worthy of leftist run investment firms money.
Making your game about samurai have a black man was for this reason, it’s why it’s the first time you play as a historical character because there were no other black people so it would be even less believable.
They also made him
A master samurai even though he was in country for just a few years and never saw battle.
@@johnschwalb well that explains a lot that I don’t particularly care about either way since it’s just a bunch of people yelling at each other on twitter for the sake of yelling at each other, I just straight up don’t trust the writing team at any Ubisoft studios cause they have some of the greatest IPs with amazing worlds and settings but then we end up getting Watch dogs legion, ghost recon breakpoint or the last 8 years of rainbow six siege
