I was so surprised when you said the head was “far too small” because I was just thinking about how nicely proportioned it was with the body! It looks absolutely lovely at this size ratio, and still feels true to your style. Creators aren’t beholden to their viewers’ opinions etc etc but I, personally, think the proportion looks excellent.
I actually liked how well proportioned she is! It’s kinda rare to find dolls that don’t have a bobble head with a tiny body but I guess to each their own.
I actually quite like the smaller head! Makes the doll look more similar to human proportions, and I haven't seen it before! I think it's actually quite cute!
Adding my voice to the countless saying that they actually think the smaller head suits the doll really well! Rrgarless though she looks lovely and I adore the touches of vintage art!
I don't know how to put it, but the eyes and her facial structure make her look like no other doll I've ever seen!! It really comes off as your own! I am always excited for your videos, not only for your unique style, but because the clothes always feel real. They fit the dolls perfect, and aren't stiff. They all have weight to them that looks like you shrank down real clothes.
Honestly i actually really love the proportions of the head to the body?? I know Etellan mentioned that the head was printed too small and she didnt realize til after it was fully assembled, but it still looks so nice and i think the head size really complements the doll body?? Idk, i just really like the head size and was really surprised when etellan mentioned it was printed small. Genuinely would never have noticed if she didnt say anything
wooooow! she looks sooo cool! i love the vintage vibes to her but the overall styling is so current and contemporary as well! we need to see more!!! (maybe friends of hers in different skin colors and fashion styles)!!
As someone with very dark (nearly black) eyes, hearing you talk about how pretty you find them was so nice🥺 Such a stunning doll! I think your eyebrow placement is fine💕
i'm so used to your past videos with your calm, almost asmr-esque narration. this one you really let yourself go, and i felt i got to know you a bit better through your looser energy!! so excited to see you again, you're one of my favorite doll repainters!!
I love the smaller head on the tall body! I think the sculpt would make for a great alien or fae character. I also like the matching of the hair to the skin
The smaller head actually gives the silhouette an elegant reverse bratz style. I also love the: “If it’s not perfect, then that’s alright!” But also: *aggressive dry heaving about imperfections*
birb.......... the facial features of the doll are REALLY cool! and the amount of posability is amazing- i love dolls with the double joints on the knees and elbows. personally, i actually like this size of head compared to the body! the finished doll is adorable, and the dark eyes look amazing
I love the how you customized this model! She looks very cartoony and cute, almost like if a real teenage girl was plopped right in the middle of a magical girl anime
Welcome back Etellan, glad to see your doing ok. Your BJD jointed doll looks adorably gorgeous. Excellent idea using Graphite to sketch out the design, I wonder which doll is up next for your crafting table, see you next time.
I had a roommate in art school who was always laboring over making something perfect and would never sleep as a result. I am glad you are trying to share even if it isn't perfect to you. I know it may get lost in the comments, but no one will see that tiny little thing that you think makes it imperfect, and because you are always improving, perfection doesn't exist, really. Congrats on showing her once again, I was always excited to see her when you used her as a base for other customs
i actually love the way you place the eyebrows, it gives a very lifelike and versatile expression. to me, even if you didnt start out with a perfect doll you really perfected it by styling it in a way that suits it so beautifully.
OH I love her! what a cute design! I love the pale pinks and her pretty dark brown eyes, she's absolutely perfect. I don't think her head is too small at all! it looks perfectly proportional to her body actually.
Love your artwork as always! A project idea in combination with this doll would be creating a group of friends for her, possibly with wildly different styles. Sort of what used to be popular with early to mid-2000s dolls who had stories in the US (Bratz would be the first example I can think of, Monster High being another). I'd love to see your rendition of the idea completely from your own creative mind! I love when you share your inspirations and reasons behind some creative choices in your art, especially when they're tied to specific historical interests you have that just add to the many reasons why you are one of my few favorite doll artists. Looking forward to seeing your next work! You did well in beginning to let go of a little perfectionism!
She’s so gorgeous.Your so used to working with dolls with big heads.Shes actually in proportion.I think she’s far softer featured, but a few tweaks she could be a warrior or evil witch. The face mould is more adaptable.I love her 🥰
i seriously agree with dark eyes helping a design / looking really nice with characters that have light colour schemes! a white-haired character i designed has very cute, dark brown eyes, and i just adore her.
I adore the new changes to the model! I appreciate all the wonderful ways you have adapted your process to suit your situation. The vintage touches are something that I'm always drawn to in your customs! Also, I've found that prepping the resin with something like Mr. Super Clear will actually alter the texture to take and hold pigment better! It essentially gives it the texture of paper or vinyl. Just make sure it's matte, not gloss. It is about $24.99 or €23.00, so a bit pricey, but one can will last you multiple projects. Mr. Surfacer also works for this as a paint primer, but you do lose that underlying resin color.
This is lovely!!! I actually really like the scale of the head to the body, I think it looks cute and stylized (and I actually don't think it looks too small)
I do wanna say that the head being 'too small' actually gives the doll more of a doelike look, if that makes sense? It's really pretty and almost lifelike! ❤❤
I love the way you sculpt the faces for your 3D models so much, they're so unique! I absolutely adore the way you handle the noses in particular, they're so lovely. (Also to join the choir, I really like the head to body proportions as well. Like, obviously, this is your design and if you think a bigger head or smaller body is more suited to it then that's the way you should go, but I just wanted to add that)
I love her! She reminds me of Rosè from Blackpink. The face sculpt is gorgeous, and I adore her outfit so much, feels kinda like something I would wear myself
I love your style and how are you do your dolls and in my opinion her head does not look too small. I think the proportion works out really well and she beautiful 😊
A nice hack for doing doll jeans is to buy a pair of children stretch denim jeans. The denim is nearly as thin as cotton and has if course stretches so u can get a really good skinny jeans look. You can also buy shirting denim, which as the name implies, is denim used for making shirts and blouses. Again very thin and non bulky
Lovely work! Congratulations on the 3d modelling. What an enchanting faceup as well, I loved the way she ended up looking so cute and anime and I love the detail of her being into anime too.
I don't usually like eyelashes on dolls but the way you executed the ones on this one is beautiful- it's not too much. Also the head looks stunning and the size doesn't look off or anything, it just looks more realistically proportioned. Your work as always is of such brilliant quality! Stunning!
Gorgeous doll as always, was so excited to see Lady Oscar in your inspiration footage as I think Riyoko Ikeda and other classic shōjo artists (like Macoto Takahashi who you mentioned) truly made the genre what it is today and have some of the most amazing art!!
your art style is really wonderful i've watched doll customizers for years but you doll are really unique. the hair, the face it's all so beautiful and shiny and inspiring
So cute!!! I love the eyelashes they are a nice touch! I hope you post more I love watching your videos they give me so much inspiration with my own art
I am in love with how they look, the proportions of the head are amazing imo but I definitely get what you were hoping for. I’m so excited to see what you make next
the doll turend out super beautiful and so so cute !! Especially love her clothes and the little bag with the vintage illustration is everything, I have to agree with many other commenters that I wouldn't have thought her head was small if you haven't mentioned it, it looks lovely this way as well! Also I think maybe giving yourself more acces to the inside of the head by enlarging the head cap( by which I mean cutting a larger chunk off the "skull" of the doll for it) might help with placing the eyes, I have bjds and they all have pretty much the entire back of the head being the headcap, the "cutline" gets covered up by the wig so there's really no disadvantage to this that I'm aware of.
As someone with eyebrows close to my eyes... no one ever called me five head. Glad you're still doing what you want! She is so cute!!! I love the sharper features. And her outfit is fabulous. Thank you for sharing ❤
As many others have been saying, the slightly smaller head is a great look, and I think it would work well if you kept it (obviously, you don't have to)! I adore how this doll has turned out, she's lovely ❤️
She's very pretty! I have the same problem with my bjd haha I made her one time for a uni project and because she's not perfect I didn't make any videos about her. But I'm glad you found the courage to share the process! I love her style and I don't think the head is too small, it looks really nice with the body 💖
Welcome back!! I love your content so so much and I have truly missed your customs ❤️ Ive been following since the very first video and I love seeing the detail, dedication and love that goes into each and every doll you make. Your content is truly unique among the doll customizing community!
She literally looks like Liz from Ive with the styling of New Jeans haha. You could try elegant outfits for her as well, cos I'm sure she'll fit them great as well!
5:23 the hot glue trick makes a lot of sense, come to think of it. Porcelain bjds are lined with a thin layer of leather in all their joints to avoid awful scraping of raw porcelain parts against each other.
Your doll is so precious! The eyelashes look so good! I love the body and head proportions! I know you said it looked too small but I think it's beautiful! As a fellow artist I also understand that we are our own worst critiques but honestly I've always enjoyed your videos and how relaxing they are and how thorough you are about your process! I really appreciate your in-depth knowledge about the materials as well! 💜💙
oh my gosh the lashes look incredible!! she is so delicate and beautiful. i adore the hair matching the skin colour too it just adds to the delicate softness. (and man i feel you about aussie summer i used to use blu-tac to display my art prints at markets but they always melted and fell down within an hour)
Agreed! I was thinking the same thing~ Obviously etallan should do what she wants but I think this set of proportions looks lovely as well~
I actually liked how well proportioned she is!
It’s kinda rare to find dolls that don’t have a bobble head with a tiny body but I guess to each their own.
I agree! The balance is nice
Same
Same here!!

Getting over perfectionism and out of comfort zones is scary but I'm really excited to see everything you create!
im happy to see her try new things because new things can be scary, i understand the fear of doing things differently.
Honestly i actually really love the proportions of the head to the body?? Yes! ❤
Thanks so much!! Definitely love that idea, would be fun to experiment with colour and style combinations😍
As someone with very dark (nearly black) eyes, hearing you talk about how pretty you find them was so nice🥺 Such a stunning doll! I think your eyebrow placement is fine💕

I think a tradgoth doll (or maybe metal?) would be cool to try on your custom BJD base, the intricate makeup would be fun
I love the smaller head on the tall body! I think the sculpt would make for a great alien or fae character. I also like the matching of the hair to the skin
The smaller head actually gives the silhouette an elegant reverse bratz style. I also love the:
“If it’s not perfect, then that’s alright!”
But also: *aggressive dry heaving about imperfections*
blonde hair suits her so much, so much so that i feel like any hair color will look good on her 😭😭
birb..........
the facial features of the doll are REALLY cool! and the amount of posability is amazing- i love dolls with the double joints on the knees and elbows. personally, i actually like this size of head compared to the body! the finished doll is adorable, and the dark eyes look amazing
etellan always conveniently posts right as im about to go to bed
That 'shut up' was just too adorable. And I love the design of the doll, the new face has a more imperfect, human look somehow. Just very beautiful.
I love the how you customized this model! She looks very cartoony and cute, almost like if a real teenage girl was plopped right in the middle of a magical girl anime
I think the head proportion is perfect for this body, I was shocked when you said it was "too small" because it looks so good with the body.
Welcome back Etellan, glad to see your doing ok. Your BJD jointed doll looks adorably gorgeous. Excellent idea using Graphite to sketch out the design, I wonder which doll is up next for your crafting table, see you next time.

You have this ethereal look and sound about you, and your videos are so great to listen to whilst trying to sleep.
OH I love her! what a cute design! I love the pale pinks and her pretty dark brown eyes, she's absolutely perfect. I don't think her head is too small at all! it looks perfectly proportional to her body actually.
The way you paint faces is so aesthetically pleasing🌸🌸🌸💖💖💖
Love your artwork as always! A project idea in combination with this doll would be creating a group of friends for her, possibly with wildly different styles. I kinda like the head being small ik it's not proportional at all but I think it give the doll like a cuteness factor??
wonderful work! she's probably the prettiest doll custom i've ever seen!!!!
She turned out absolutely adorable! Love the pink quartz colour. 💖💖💖
'first of all, rude' got me cackling. i love this doll and the face mold is so beautiful, i also love the darkbrown eyes on the pink skin :3
i love this type of video soooo much. love relaxing pretty doll content, feels like such a rarity now
love the softer features on the old one but the new one is definitely my fave!!! theyre both so cute but i love that you can see the improvement 💕
When you said your iron was tiny i was expecting travel sized like mine, but that is TRULY tiny. Fabulous end result as always ❤

th9is is such a pretty doll, and i actually like the size of the head! it makes the doll cute but not overly kawaii, a soft cute aesthetic!
eek it turned out soooo cute!! i think gyaru makeup would look super nice on this face sculpt, especially because of the eye shape
I absolutely adore her!!
I do wanna say that the head being 'too small' actually gives the doll more of a doelike look, if that makes sense? It's really pretty and almost lifelike! ❤❤

She is so adorable, I love her face so much!
you resemble your dolls so much actually! so excited to see more custom dolls from scratch, maybe new molds ect!
I’ve never been so early to a video, but I love your content and all the hard work you put into your art🩵🩷

I think her proportions are super cute :-)
She looks like Haneul from Kiss Of Life! She is gorgeous
I like the low brows on your dolls, they make the facial expressions look empathetic and approachable :)
this doll is so cute, I'm so proud of you for creating your own doll base
She's adorable! I love the smaller head and love her entire styling.

OMIGOSH SHE'S SO PRETTY.
I love that head size tbh! I think it works w the body really well, big fan of those proportions c:

She is very pretty! I like that scale, I think the head is perfectly proportioned to the body. She has a very sweet face!
I am in love with how they look, the proportions of the head are amazing imo but I definitely get what you were hoping for.
I’m so excited to see what you make next
I like the size of the head! Looks proportional, especially on such a slender frame
This doll looks so freaking cute, I literally wish I had her face irl. She looks so dainty! Great work as always, etellan!
Could you do a tips and tricks for designing and 3d modeling a ball jointed doll video? I ask this because i think your doll looks very cute.

Thanks so much ❤️
She's so pretty, and I do love the all pink look with that wig 👀🩷 I actually really like her smaller head she looks lovely !!
She's lovely! Her face sculpt might one of my favorites.
Your doll is super cute! It's awesome that you were able to create your vision for this doll and bring it to life.
Personally, I really Love how the doll looks with the “smaller” sized head… it’s really cute! 🥰
Welcome back!! I love your content so so much and I have truly missed your customs ❤️ Ive been following since the very first video and I love seeing the detail, dedication and love that goes into each and every doll you make. Your content is truly unique among the doll customizing community!

That pink quartz coloris pretty.

She is perfect! I love her face and the accessories! So cute. I love your style.
What a cute doll mold! I love her. I hope you know that the work you do is always fantastic, and I honestly wish I had the skills to do what you do :3
youre genuinely my favorite doll creator and i hope you get better with sharing your work with us because I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS!!! lots of love
I honestly love the lower set eyebrows, it works great with your style

I always enjoy seeing your works of art. Thank you for doing what you do. ♥︎
Head size looks perfect to me!
idk why but her face up reminds me of haneul from kiss of life! the doll turned out absolutely stunning
your dolls give me gender envy!! i want pink skin!
I think he's head size is perfect! She's really lovely. 🩷
That is one gorgeous doll...wow. Brilliant job, I love the design and style put together for her
I love it, she's beautiful, if every day you launch a pre-order, count me in
She is very pretty and I quite like the smaller head. Well done as always.
I feel like the head's size works wonders with her body, I like it a lot!
oh my gosh the lashes look incredible!! she is so delicate and beautiful. i adore the hair matching the skin colour too it just adds to the delicate softness.
(and man i feel you about aussie summer i used to use blu-tac to display my art prints at markets but they always melted and fell down within an hour)
The head does not look too small at all. This is a beautiful doll, i wish i had one of the base to customize myself.
I think the head is the perfect size, actually! I tend to find the big headed dolls uncanny and outright ugly sometimes, so this is a sweet refresh
