    I seem to have good results developing in D76 1:3 . I'm going to try Arista Ortho Litho developer next and compare,

    Kodak only discontinued the orthochromatic Verichrome (which they replaced with Verichrome Pan) in 1955. Ortho was very common through the first half of the 20th century -- many early motion pictures were shot on ortho film (originally because it was all they could get); it's the reason for the green makeup that the Munsters made much more known when they went to color in their second season. Ortho film would record greens well, but reds would appear dark in the positive -- deep reds might go fully black. That meant if a director wanted an actor to have "rosy" cheeks and lips that were darker than their skin, but not black, they had to get made up in shades of green.
