If you just play new game + in both games you would HATE replaying knight cause the batmobile levels become even harder and more of a chore to get through but there’s nothing bad about Arkham city’s campaing and replaying it in new game + is just more fun

Man i really wanted the Deathstroke boss fight to be on foot
I was so hyped inside when he jumped out of his vehicle. It looked like it was going to be a epic hand to hand combat moment. But here we are. All that tower and roadblock side quests build up meant absolutely nothing. They didn't even make the tank fight interesting. Very disappointing.

He’s off his rocker to think Knight is better. And also to say “weirdo if don’t agree with him” he’s more nuts. Ratings think otherwise.
I won’t say you’re a weirdo if you like city better, it’s a great game, but I think it’s definitely wrong. I feel like people who don’t like knight or like city better just haven’t gone back and replayed it recently. The combat, stealth, graphics (obviously), characters, story, map, etc are all better. I think scarecrow and the Arkham knight were the best villains so far. Scarecrow felt like more of a threat to Batman than Joker did in asylum or city. He had more of a presence, he was constantly getting into Batman’s head and was a master at playing on Batman’s emotions. Joker never really did that in what we saw him in. In asylum he just takes over the asylum and occasionally talks to Batman until the very end when he becomes what a lot of people consider the worst boss fight in the series. In city he’s not even the main villain, there’s a way bigger threat than him. He’s really only there to remind us that Batman is dying. I think he’s presence is the best in origins because he’s shown in it a lot more. But in Arkham knight, Jason and Crane are always a constant threat and never feel like they aren’t close to winning. I also think the Jason reveal is hated too much. I know rocksteady tried hard to get us to believe it wasn’t him, and kinda took the fans comic knowledge for granted, but it still doesn’t mess with the story. Batman had no reason to believe it’s Jason since Jason was “killed”. He also had no idea of Jason’s connections to Arkham, so the name “Arkham Knight” wouldn’t be a connection he’d make. I do think that maybe the hallucinations were a way of showing Batman subtly thinking about whether or not the Knight could be Jason, but every time he comes to the same conclusion that Jason is dead. That’s only a theory though obviously. But no other villains have done what Jason and Crane did, destroy the Batman. He literally had to fake his own death to come back as something scarier. The villains technically won, of course Crane didn’t really 100% finish his plan, which was to show the city Batman full of fear. But he took over Gotham, gassed Gotham, put his fear into everyone, captured Batman, and revealed his identity. They destroyed the symbol of Batman, making Bruce have to restart from scratch basically. And the idea of Batman going to war in Gotham is so badass. The tank missions also are way over exaggerated, there really aren’t THAT many, and they’re not that long either

City is better than Knight and I think your argument is slightly invalid. The problems with Arkham Knight that other fans had, you basically sweep them under the rug without actually explaining why it isn’t a problem. Saying that fans should get over their issues with the game, this does not make it a better game. While I love Arkham Knight, Arkham City is still a better game. The game definitely overused the Batmobile by 40% I’d say. 70% percent of the riddler trophies in the game require the Batmobile, and more then half of the side missions in the game require the Batmobile in some way. This isn’t even mentioning the story. Fans just wanted to drive the Batmobile, not be required to use it for most of the game. And the Batmobile combat gets old fast. While it may be fun for the first couple of times, it gets old fast. It doesn’t make the player feel as cool as they do during free flow combat. There were also some gripes that I have with the stealth gameplay. For example, Batman can no longer perform a hanging ledge takedown, or slide through vent covers to open them. This makes stealth feel more constricted to only sneaking up behind enemies. On top of this, stealth was so much easier because almost every takedown from the last game that would make noise is now a loud takedown, making it easier for the player, and making it so stealth gets more boring the longer they play it. And those who say the story is better in Knight are just wrong. What makes Knight's story less interesting is the lack of villains. In the game there are a lot of villains, but the villains (who are not main villains) are all in the side missions (except Harley and Ivy). But in Arkham City, 90% of the villains are presented and defeated within the main story. This adds more highs in Arkham City’s story, and more opportunities for boss fights. I mean think about it, there is so much content in Arkham City’s story. You start as Bruce Wayne inside the city, save Catwoman from Two Face, Fight mister Hammer, fight the titan monsters, defeat the Penguin, fight Solomon Grundy, complete the Demon Trials and fight Ras al Gual, fight Mr. Freeze, save Viki Vale from Joker, fight Joker and all his goons, then the city is being destroyed, you stop Hugo Strange and blow up wonder tower and almost fall to your death, fight Clayface, and then the Joker dies. And that’s only 50% of what happens in the story, there is still so much more. In Arkham knight you have multiple encounters with the Arkham knight only for him to escape over and over. The only events that happen outside of that is Joker awakening inside Batman’s head, Barbera dying, and Harley taking over the movie studios. Not as much happens inside the main story of Arkham Knight when compared to Arkham City. However at the end of the day, both games are great, but Arkham City is a better game.

City is the best one! The bos battles alone elevate it more for me.
Puzzles also felt better and more creative. In knight they feel more like filler.

The problem with the bat mobile are the shitty controls and tank battles. The tank battles are almost like a different game then the core game play of city and knight. I’ve gotten used to it, but they feel like a chore more than anything.

Facts! Arkham Knight is the best Arkham game. Better graphics, better gameplay, better combat system, better stealth system, etc. Story was good (yes, you can argue City has the best story, but Knight one felt more like a cinematic endgame which I prefer). Arkham Knight actually made me feel like I'm Batman (not that others didn't, but they don't compare to this one). I also loved the DLCs and side missions (although you can argue Origins got the best DLCs and City got the best side missions). So overall, it comes down to preference, but I'm honestly pissed about all the hate Arkham Knight got, same goes for Arkham Origins.
Like it really felt like batman in arkham knight like we could glide and do some peak human skills

I like City's story a bit better because the villains actually interact with each other on-screen. Knight teased a huge team up but we only ever really get Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight together. Everyone else felt so splintered off. City had a bunch of feuding and uneasy alliances.
I also am totally fine with the Jason twist, he just needed more screentime post-reveal.

Arkham Knight perfectly refined the previous Arkham mechanics, the issue was that the new mechanics didn't get that refinement, as this was the final game.
Arkham knight is my favorite game OF ALL TIME but City has a better story . But the Arkham knight is SICK.
When it comes to the Arkham games
Asylum had the best atmosphere (it can technically be called the worst, but it walked so the others could run)
City had arguably the best story. Obviously this is a subjective opinion, but that’s my take (if not that, then the best theme)
Origins was different, mostly the same as City, but the boss fights were amazing, almost certainly the best in the series.
Knight is the definitive Batman Game in terms of gameplay. Say what you will about the Batmobile, but the freeflow combat and predator missions had never looked better or felt better and still looks phenomenal eight years later.

Gameplay wise I’d say yeah Knight is probably better than City. But the story? No way bro. To me, City has a damn near perfect story. It’s so tight and goes really smooth, things make sense and are within character and reason. Knight has some good writing but there’s a lot of decisions made that make no sense and infuriate me. The only thing I can think of that bring the story of City down is Hugo Strange, he doesn’t really do much to keep his advantage over Batman and then he’s disposed of

Like you said noone should be here just to dump on Knight, but simply put, the reason I prefer City is because there was _nothing_ about it that I didn't love.
Knight is still a 9.5 but is just let down a little bit by those few small factors you mentioned, while City is a straight 10.
One point to add for Knight, though: the way that game incorporates sidequests is the most seamless and buttery-smooth I've ever seen in a game, even 8yrs on
In my opinion City is an 8.5/10 cause I didn’t really like the vibe and the story was kinda short. Plus sometimes I’d hit counter or attack and the game just doesn’t do it. The side quests had some good ones but most were just find something in a huge location or get a new gadget, which gadgets should be introduced just in the main story if you ask me.

Arkham Knight is a good game but is not on the level of city. City has a coherent narrative which makes sense whereas Arkham Knight’s story is a bit of convoluted mess which doesn’t align with the other games
All Batman Arkham games are awesome, especially Knight. The only thing that I can complain about is not so much epic bossfights like in origins or city and no travel by batwing.
Note: SSKTJL ain't canon to Arkham verse since it's alternate story and clones of real justice league, so basically I'm not including this piece of crap as a part of Arkham verse and it should never be as a part of Arkham verse.

Dude. You DID get it for traversal LMAO. Yes the tank mode is mandatory during some missions, but it’s not like there’s no car mode. Tank mode is awesome anyway, makes the Batmobile way more interesting, threatening and intimidating.

I don't know what it is about it, but I can't keep away from Origins. I know Knight has better combat, but I honestly like the simple but effective story of Origins more than City. Not to mention 100% Origins is less of a slog, with less trophies and better challenge maps. The biggest factor is the complete lack of a walking simulator at the beginning.

Totally agree. Arkham Knight is one of the best games I’ve ever played. The graphics are still mind-blowing, the atmosphere is strong, the story is epic and emotional, the set pieces are breathtaking, the *BATMOBILE* is amazing and my favorite driving mechanics in all games period, and it’s just non-stop fun. There’s something super urgent about it. I feel like I’ve been going all night and running on nothing but adrenaline, seeing the bat suit and Batmobile deteriorate as the game progresses.

Arkham knight: better gameplay, better graphics, quantity over quality, better sidemissions, better dlc and more playable characters.
Even 9 years later, Arkham knight still holds up and could pass at being a perfect game in 2024. Replaying them all this week made me realize why I can’t get into newer games. Arkham knight should be the standard for single player video games and games nowadays don’t even come close in comparison with a decade old ps4 game.

People don’t think Jason as Arkham knight sucks because he sucks, he sucks because most of the hype around the character was from teasers and mystery, except there was no mystery and everyone knew it was Jason Todd 100 miles away. Completely derailing any fan fare/coolness from the character leading up to the “reveal”

This is one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen.
Arkham knight definitely has some advantages, but city is overall just a lot better. I really don’t like the story of Arkham knight at all, especially with all the plot holes.

I’m sorry, but Arkham City is a better story. They tried to introduce Jason Todd in the final game and probably should have done it in Asylum and the moment when Joker died and Batman even stated that he would have saved him made it a masterpiece that it is even today. Games aren’t as good anymore. Wish companies focused on more story driven than online competitive. But both games are amazing, but I’m sorry, City is the best for me. Maybe if Arkham Knight didn’t bring Joker back and if they showed Jason earlier, it could have been better.
Reasons Arkham City is the best imo:
-Amazing Main Villain (Hugo Strange, NOT JOKER)
-The tension and drama (Strange counting down to Protocol 10)
- Greatest Boss Fights (Mr. Freeze, Ra's Al Ghul, Solomon Grundy and Clayface)
-The Death Of The Joker (Affects almost every Character that we see in Arkham Knight)
- "I Have Saved Gotham" Scene from Hugo Strange
Strange had no boss fight and didn't have much of a role.

-Hires deadshot to kill anyone with evidence against him
-Has Quincy Sharp thrown into Arkham City to have be disposed of and just incase Batman did save him (which he did) he won't be able to tell Batman anything.
-Stranges simply taunts Bruce and gets in his face and just lays out his plan while taunting him, No need to have the villain throw the hero around like a ragdoll, Just taunt him, taunt him with your plan and his failure.
From the moment Strange captures Bruce, he thinks he has won, and notice in the processing center when Strange appears on the monitor, he damn well knows Batman is Brucr but he doesn't reveal it even though Batman is trying to stop him because in stranges logic, whats the point of revealing his identity if Batman is already defeated as protocol 10 is in effect.
I have many reasons why Strange is a great Villain
Reason 1: his prepration is top notch, TYGER is the best faction in the Arkham Series BY A MILE, why you may ask? simple, they are brainwashed, trained and given resources all in order to defeat batman and they even wipe out Jokers crew in Wonder city without a sweat broken and considering how threatening Joker's crew is, shows TYGER's power level which is why you hear *thats the last one, area secure* and TYGER can never even be terrified of you, unlike other factions where they will freak out upon seeing you, TYGER will immediately shoot you upon seeing you.
Reason 2: His IQ is beyond question, figuring out who Batman is and executing protocol 10
Reason 3: His cockiness was his downfall, Strange thinks he has won from the moment he captures Bruce and thinks he is on top of everything. He even went to the city council to get protocol 10 approved which is the council Gordon was on, so they could have denied use of it, Strange spent the entire night counting down to protocol 10 but he never had approval to use it. Strange was so cocky he left to chance. Also when Batman hacks the door to Strange, Strange says *You cannot defeat me i am untouchable* at the beginning of the game he says *No-one is untouchable* Strange has become so cocky that he is contradicting himself and going into detective mode he is nervous even though he looks calm and collected. Its the realisation he is about to fail and is just using words as a coping mechcanisim but Ra's agrees the he lost and stabs his pupil. Strange activates protocol 11, blowing up wonder tower and everyone inside it
You don't need a good boss fight for a villain, A villain that is the background on top of everything and taunting you and activating their plan but because of one flaw, Batman managed to defeat him.
Only reason Batman defeated Strange was because of Strange being cocky about the approval of Protocol 10 and thinking he has won when he captures Bruce

Introduces us to jason todds death and troys incredible voice acting
-Introduces us to oracles injury
-they gave us incredible scarecrow illusions
-they introduced us the darkest knight
-they made u murder people as joker and it was all tied to the story line
-they made joker be intimidating and scary even after his death
-u can play with catwoman, batgirl, red hood, nightwing, damian, joker, jim, etc
-gave us alfred talking to batman constantly so u dont get bored during the missions of the game
- lucius fox (the black alfred) is in the game
While City is objectively the better game, Knight is still my favorite for personal reasons
The only thing I hate are the boss fights, they were mostly enemy spam. For example, the Riddler could've been the best boss fight, instead more enemy spam. Either Batman could've had a mech of his own or Catwoman would have to lower a shield and Batman fights Riddler head on. Knight's was decent, Freeze's was eh, and most if the rest were barely boss fights or enemy spam, beisdes Two-Face, that was good, and the ending.

Arkham City had a far better story and was a way less predictable story I guessed it was Jason Todd 6 minutes into the game, I called Joker would return, and I called poison Ivy being a sacrifice. Look, I love the story, but shit was mad predictable, and in my opinion, that made it a less enjoyable story than Arkham City. I don't have a problem with the Batmobile but the games lack of bossfights was terrible we should have had actual boss fights with Slade, Jason, Azrael (depending on your choice), and a boss fight with Scarecrow at some point in the game.
Batman Arkham City >>> 100+ Tank battles, Riddler races, STEALTH tank battles, Deathstroke tank battle, Riddler tank puzzles.
