    Wayne is a badass. There's no explanation for the amount of success the Flaming Lips enjoyed other than his dogged determination coupled with the fact that he truly loves what he does.
    I love what he does, too! A real visionary in a fake world is something to marvel at...

    my son henry ended up backstage at a show once, and he and wayne bonded over conversation about how to be a good person. that moment has helped shape my son and his outlook. i love wayne, just for being generally awesome.

    I am 51 years old,just gone through a painful mid life crisis,following the break up of a long term relationship.When your younger you mope around for a couple of weeks,dust yourself down and get on with it.Harder when your older.Anyway i had flash of light moment and suddenly fell in love with my world and humanity.then i hear wayne who id never heard of,describe,almost word for word,what i went through.LOVE.

    When my husband and I decided to get married we thought how incredible would it be to have Wayne join us together forever in this fleeting life. He made our dream come true at the 2010/2011 New Year's Eve Freakout. We are forever joined by his positive spirit. Thank you Wayne for being....
    We can't wait to celebrate our first anniversary with The Flaming Lips in just a few days.

    Wayne is my role model.I spoke to him once on WFMU,the worlds best radio station and he sent me a promo cd of live Lips tunes for radio and wrote his name on it.We both started in hardcore punk bands in 1982.

    actually this is the great statement of a human being who felt envy, pity, love... we all dream, we all feel thing and we CAN be what we want to be, or we just could BE and see how everything works out. Love to you and to whoever or whatever reads this commentary (=)

  • @SpiralsHappen

    It really helps to know that there are two types of happiness. Just like there are two types of realities. A material finite reality and a Spiritual Infinite reality. Opposites, like day & night, love & hate, male & female, up & down, war & peace etc. The material finite offers relative happiness. This kind of happiness requires tools or aids to maintain a fleeting kind of happiness. Absolute happiness is knowing something bigger then oneself controls the Order Of The Infinite Universe.

    when i saw them at the nelsonville music fesival 2011 i heard some old lady behind me (when he was speaking) exclaim "he's so wonderful!" and i looked behind me to a lady who looked to be 50 smiling in aw at the stage.
    i was shocked to think that "does this 50 year old woman actually listen to the flaming lips?!?! THATS AWESOME!"
    or to think that wayne coyne is such a great person that the lips can put on the most bizarre show in history and still appeal to people generations away.

    @formusicplaylist1 wayne's nearing 50 himself though. ;) if anything, he EXUDES youth more than most young kids. it's wonderful. i'm 28 and in those moments where i dread getting older...i think about wayne. talk about aging gracefully and not losing your inner child.

    lol...that's funny. I seem to see my own comments everywhere I go. I actually just randomly came across this video again. Forgot I had even seen it. And as I scrolled down, noticed my comment was a top comment. I'm now 30...2 years after I wrote that. Apparently I'm an uber master youtube commenter. >_< Because I seem to see my comment as the top comment all over the place. It's kind of weird actually.

    Who really cares about age?
    Almost all human beings.
    I mean, those who say "age is just a number" are, well....wrong.
    There are definitely changes in both body and mind as you age...some good, some not so good.
    For instance, as you age, the brain becomes less able to connect creative non-sequitors....which is pretty damn important to writing music.
    Marijuana can help...but there's a reason musicians tend to write their best stuff in their 20s.
    I just turned 30...so age is on my mind a lot ;)

      I'm 55 and I have been watching my friends go down or come down with debilitating diseases. I have been lucky to live this long, the way I live my life. Listen to your body, it will tell you what you need. I don't know how much longer I will live, but you can be damn sure I'm going to enjoy it, for now.

    • @tiki_trash
      @tiki_trash 4 роки тому

      What I'm trying to say is that for some people life gets better as you age. You begin to see things in new ways and you begin to realize that we all are going to die some day. I miss my friends and I always will. They are on my mind all the time. I have been a Lips fan since the 80s. I think this is one of their most poignant and beautiful songs ever.

  • @TheTheAwkward
    @TheTheAwkward 10 років тому

    Totally agree. But really who cares about age? I don't care. Wayne is awesome and the Flaming lips rule! I let the tweens, gay guys, and women worry about aging. Not a knock at you at all. Just love good music and those who put it out for us to enjoy. :)
