thats true too - it can be really hit or miss, usually miss. A strategy we used to use is to create a CWL for people you knew you could count on to come back or stick around. I had one for tea that had something like 60 people in it so that I knew I could just say tea pf going up! Now a days i just have a discord instead but same principal anyway! Maybe that can help you!
Pf helper here with more then 50 clears on all ults. For the most part the issue i see is the prog tbh most prog parties never reach said prog point and when they do seeing it once is mostly a reason to go to the next step not even progging just seeing it. Also the waiting times for said parties is a huge factor i recently reprogged as healer dsr and most p5 pfs are just p3 start even had a guy coming in to p6 wb2 only to wipe us in doth 3 times saying in qoute "he was only here to prog doth." These prog liers also are going into kill groups etc top atm is just sigma wipes and ppl who have no idea about mechanics and only did sim saying stuff like end p4 in top on a 22% wipe healer mitigation was missing etc. But what you can not deny is that pf is a carry for you. Sure you put in the effort and hours but in the end it will be to 80% a clear for 1 or 2 with a group you just know you can clear then most of these new legends are going into carry groups when they don't even are consistent on the last couple of phases the qoute "helpers helping" is often used for that. From what i have seen there are no totem groups anymore from these ppl everything is a c4u or c41 at this point but you already talked about that in the video but as i said i feel like the issue is in said prog if the prog was better we would have more people doing pf from start. I myself go in said prog pfs and help them out as much as i can we just need more helpers in prog not in clears tbh but i also see the term i want no static i go pf all the time now and for that i can say i did prog top in pf week 1 and for the most part you pretty much get new strats everyday and form semi statics at one point. Pf is solved every strat is made as easy and consistent as possible and for the most part doing research and looking into povs, toolboxes, sims goes a great mile from there. Sorry for the long text if you mad eit this far thank you for reading and best of luck and success in your ultimate journey.
I had this tank ive progged UwU with twice before and he was chill when we were progging Garuda, and Ifrit. A few days later we both make it to Titan and literally 2nd pull the dude was complaining about ifrit dashes and how we should be skipping, (dps, myself included, died randomly prior ifrit so no way we were skipping even with pots) but we made it to Titan either way and then disbands. I finally got fed up built up some courage, and made my own party and consistently made it to gaols every pull after the first pull. Ive never felt so gaslit lol. Exactly as you said if people just come prepared and own up to your mistakes then theres nothing to fear. Wish me luck on my UwU clear 😂
I think it was that way on aether before too - cross dc travel combined with an increased popularity and interest in ultimate's felt like a sudden quality drop - but I think that's just part of the player base growing. I could be wrong, but that's my theory anyway!
I'm the ninja in this video. I feel the same way with how pf is. I've cleared TEA in pf and when I was clear ready, it was a struggle to even get to PA most of the times. Your comment about people who cleared messing around in prog/c41 parties is another thing I have been experiencing, especially in DSR. Sadly some people join c41 parties for de-rusting. It definitely is possible to clear, just gotta find that right group. Was fun playing with you!
I've recently cleared UwU in PF, and the experience was so rough, on Aether, I found a Static to do TEA in, lol. Biggest issue I've seen is people seeing a Mechanic once, and thinking they're at that Prog point. Instead of being consistent to that point. That's why you see people in Wormhole Prog on TEA, who die to LC 1 out of every 2 times. Oh it's awful. That said, I've been using PF to help practice a bit outside of Static and its been helping, and those groups are out there. Ultimately, for anyone struggling, just hang in there. And keep up the grind
I'm a new player who started post EW, and I've always been a bit curious about doing Ultimates. In particular UWU because I like its weapons, and DSR due to its alternate narrative. I have yet to really try doing any of that though, and this video did provide me some insight into the culture of ultimate raiding, as well as what to prepare for. I haven't really focused much on raiding in general, I tend to do the base raids for each expansion, and sometimes do a few odd savage ones (a few Alex savages, 1-2 Omega, and I tried doing some Eden), which unsynced those go a lot better, though the one time I tried doing Eden Titan Savage in PF was awful, I had watched the guide video and even put up markers, and I was the last one alive every time, but we never got far and kept wiping until everyone just quit and that really soured my excitement for raiding in general, but I guess that's just how it goes. I'm a crystal player and tend to stay on my world server so that may also be a factor since Crystal isn't the raiding server, so I might try my luck on Aether one of these days. I will say the biggest takeaway for me from this is the preparations I need to do, get food and pots, watch not only the guide video but also perspective clears. That one sounds really important, and I imagine myself going through the raids as a healer (ideally want two clears, one for my glam weapon for my main job but the other for the weapon of the job I cleared it on), so having that is really important and something that never really came to mind, so thanks for that.
I just recently started and finished my UWU journey, so a bit of insight from me who was fresh to Ultimates (Cleared P9-P11 savage though). I'm definitely big on studying when it comes to raiding. I watched the tessan UWU guide probably 10 times before going in for my first time and it got me in my first group to Titan (Phase 3) Enrage without dying. I also watched clears for my job/role (Caster) and that helped a lot on know where to position myself before mechanics. So I can vouch for a combination of those 2 being really good. But also nothing works better than actually doing the fight afterwards. You might think you understand how something works, but in the moment your mind can draw a blank. Took me about 3 weeks (mostly weekends) to clear UWU for my first time, so I wish you the best of luck!
i have not even tried an ultimate yet because i dont have a static, and savage in pf was really bad. maybe in dawntrial i will, since TEA looks awesome
pf gremlin here, cleared uwu, tea, dsr and top all in pf. one thing i think you missed is that you should use ALL of the tools available to you, one of which is sims. even if you’re against it, if you want to clear fast in pf you will need to use them, especially in top. i skipped from delta prog to p6 fresh and saw great success because of simming, and have yet to fuck up exasquares in p6 as well for the same reason.
One thing that's wild about ultimate pf especially even though it happens in many pfs is people leaving after one wipe that isn't at the prog point. Like this is an ultimate, if you dont have the patience to stay for a bit you're doing the wrong content.
I been a PF gremlin for a few months now working through TEA and now starting DSR and honestly just waiting for PFs to fill (and hoping prog griefers dont join) is the hardest part lol at the very least if i get in instance, even if its clear someone is lying about their prog point i can learn something before i value my time and dip lol
yeah pretty wise take, I honestly after reading the title was thinking to myself "oh here we go again, another static only guy complaining about pf", but I agreed with pretty much all of your main points. You definitely do a decent amount of pfing when I heard you talk about the never makes mistakes celebrity guy and getting invited for a bunch of stuff
Yeah i dont think im going to be getting into ultimates. I enjoy going into stuff blind and learning as i go. Ive been enjoying minilvl learning groups the most. But nothing turns me off from a party more than "you HAVE to watch a video to do this content"
For a player like you, we would recommend trying to find a static. The reason he talks about watching guides here, is because with party finder you're going in with people you likely don't know or barely know; and it is generally considered polite to respect the time of the other players in PF groups by having at least a little knowledge of the fight before going in. Ninja Edit: PF groups are not great or even good for blind prog, but statics are great for blind prog as long as no one takes it so seriously they get upset when you don't clear immediately. It's hard content, takes time to learn, and learning with a group of friends is a lower stress environ than a group of random strangers from the PF. PF is more for farming your reclears. in our experience.
@KitaBFawkes yeah, that's kind of what I've been feeling. I'm part of a decently large fc, and we meet up in discord to do different content. We're almost through the first part of sildihn criterion, and it's been dang fun figuring out our own ways of trying to get through all the different possibilities. But, it's not necessarily standard so I stay out of pf groups.
I’m the RPR in this vid and just want to say that the first wipe shown is clearly photoshopped. I can see the edited pixels clear as day and surely no one would ever die to such an easy mechanic. Despite the fake news, very good advice though. Honk 👍
The worst thing about progging at all is people lying about their consistency (likely to coast off of everyone else aka "fake it till you make it"), as you put it. If I'm at the second phase of P12S trying to do pangenesis, I don't want people still failing paradeigma 2. It's a waste of everyone's time, including theirs.
I don't even see much in PF these days. I took a big break between Stormblood and EW, played a bit in Shadowbringers but not too hardcore. The difference in the amount of PF groups i see at peak times compared to back in HW/SB is huge. Back in HW you used to look on PF and there would always be many different PF groups especially for extremes. I'm looking right now at the chaos EU PF and there's like 2 extreme PF groups up with 2 people in them and 3 unsynced old content groups. I've checked most days now for the past week and don't even see savage groups let alone ultimate. What happened? PF used to be full from top to bottom at peak time. It's not like there aren't enough people in the game, there's like 200 people showing up for S ranks. Is this and RP all people care about now?
3:54 I think you should've adjusted there, the dnc has a dash and all but giving him that much distance to run when you're closest to the safe spot he was forced to go is a bit shady. If that guy wasn't a dnc that would've been a wipe. This isn't even a "oh no blm can't move" scenario it's literally a downtime mechanic. Just be more attentive to the people around you and adjust to them as necessary. It looked quite tight.
Honestly I feel the hardest part about ultimates in party finder, is finding people willing to stay and learn I’m fresh groups 😭

before the cross dc that shit didnt happen so often on Primal compared to Aether now, there was more quality on Primal Ultimate PFs
i remember uwu parties being so good i went fresh to clear in a week on tank from upr strats
