Watched this movie on TV last night. It was much better than I thought it would be, with Stallone throwing more punches than Rocky. Yup, I was entertained throughout.

Mickey Rourke is almost demonic in this role. I actually like the erratic camera movement, the little flashes between movements, Cyrus taunting Jack and wagging a finger at him, and the song 'From Rusholme with Love' fits it perfectly.

He didnt restart his career at all. Rourke was out of big roles and big name films for about decade. He still had roles every year through 90s. His big break was when he was cast in Sin City, after that he started appear everywhere again.

I love this movie (even more than the original....there I said it) When I first saw it, I just knew that Stallone had 'thrown' the first meeting with Rourke....simply to get him to brag about killing his brother (out of sheer arrogance) Notice that in their next bout (a whole minute later) Stallone makes (all-too) easy work of Rourke.
