To be perfectly honest, I think Deftones has been the most consistent when it comes to producing excellent music. They just know how to transition with the times in terms of their sound, which is exceedingly difficult to do in this day and age, especially as an older band.
Props for that, guys.
Yeah, I’ve seen other bands lose their sound over time. They try to sound different but end up sounding bland.

Back in 2013 when this song first dropped, my dad and I went to the grocery store because they were having a sale where if you buy two boxes of cereal you get a jug of milk for free. Then as we were driving home just a block down from our house, my dad realized something and said "I FORGOT TO GET THAT STUPID MILK!!". And right as he said that, the radio station blasted this song as he was all swearing at himself 😂

Radio stations don't blast songs, you may find that the volume of each station you tune to is at an even level. It was your car's audio system which was blasting the radio station.

This song live is something else when the entire crowd is singing along with Chino. I'm glad I got to experience that moment.
I admittedly never gave this band much listens, but my wife played them around the house at high volumes and explained the meanings and intricacies inside the music, and now I can't get enough, this is my favorite song by them,.mainly because of how it relates to my marriage.

It's officially impossible for these guys to make a bad album.
I wish I had someone to talk technical terms to.
I want to know exactly why someone else would like this song, because we all like music for different reasons.
For me, Deftones breaks away from common mainstream chords in their music. They're not afraid to try new things. Sure, some guitar chords are your standard power chords, 1, 3, 5, etc, but the singer will add something different to that. Instead of singing with the chord, he sings a different note from the guitars to turn it into a totally different chord.
For example, when the verse at :17 starts, the guitar is playing a standard Bb chord. However, Chino sings a C at "breaks", turning it into either a Bb sus 2, or a Bb 9 chord.
So, in conclusion. I like Deftones because they have more unique and meaningful chord progressions in their songs.
I would like to know if anyone likes them for the same reason.

I've never put that much thought into it. I like what I like.
It's because they are not doing anything that wanders from the norm of what is acceptable to your brain while still playing chord progressions that are fresh and exciting. And when you have a singer who can play in, out, above and below the instruments with the melody you have a unique band. That and their use of guttural and angry along with beautiful all within the same song. Killer band!! Everytime I listen to them I want to sit down and write music.
Because it's Deftones Dude, that is as technical as it needs to get.
SOngs arent good because of technical proficiency or bad due to lack of technical proficiency. Good songwriting is not about playing the most complex music.

Some of the fans said they've gone soft, but it comes with years, and in some cases, it can go in the wrong way. But "Koi No Yokan" is just AMAZING, and this as the intro song... I was just blown away.
Moral of the story: Deftones don't know how to make a bad album.

this band deserves some serious recognition. their art speaks for itself. how often do you come across a band that in 25 years has rarely disappointed while always growing and changing as musicians and never losing touch with their roots? easily one of the greatest bands to come out of the 90's decade

Alright, i had no idea Deftones had a new album till today. I feel like i haven't been up on my rock game since i've been listening to a lot of rap lately. But, i've been a fan of Deftones since i was in middle school! For a while, especially during Saturday night wrist i was upset where their music was heading. But when Diamond eyes came out.. i was impressed. Now hearing this song for the 1st time tonite.. i'm so proud of my fucking band DEFTONES!!!! Fuck yes.. this song is great!!!

Deftones are the most consistent band in the last 20 years. Every single album is good, with Saturday Night Wrist being my least favorite, but still good and consistent to a point. They stay true to their dark, heavy roots. The past couple albums have been a perfect blend of Around The Fur and White Pony, yet they always tend to introduce a new sound mixed in. They are also one of the few bands who can use the same sound over the years and never make it get boring. LONG LIVE DEFTONES!!!!!!

While My Own Summer was the song that got me into Deftones, this one was the one that made me a fan of them. When I first heard me, it blew me away, and I fell in love with the band ever since.
I like how they stay to who they are but each album progresses. its like as they get older their sound moves along.

I don't know why I like this song so much. I didn't think much of it at first listen, and musically, I'm still not 100% sure that it's so great... but for whatever reason it makes me feel good, feel better, brings calm and a tear all at the same time.
