All my hair gel out when I was 3 yrs old. I got my first wig when I was 7. This was back in the early 60's so it had to be custom made from human hair in Hollywood! It cost a fortune so I had to wear it for 5 years! Can you imagine? I have watched as wigs have evolved over all these years and I am SO FREAKING HAPPY that there are so many wig wearers now because that means the wig industry is thriving and competing to put out the best products! People stop me and ask where I get my hair styled or colored and are astounded when I tell them it's a wig and I'm happy so happy to promote wigs to people who are afraid of some sort of stigma. It's a whole new world baby and we're rocking it. You're rocking it!! Love your channel. So glad I found it. Keep up the good work. And yes, I love Raquel Welch the most because of the attention to that perfect lace front that's comfortable. I wish they made more styles in a slightly smaller cap for those of us with no hair, but I can deal with it. Cheers to you!

I have to say "you were heaven sent", about 6-7 months ago my hair started to shed it was so much it scared me to death I thought by the of the year I'd be bald, I ordered a low level laser brush started using it but my hair was still shedding ,went to my dermatologist they put me on steroids and Rogaine 2wks. on 2 wks. off well I now have hair coming back ( first off it was from the lazer) all over my head, I had bought a white wig because the top and sides are white the rest is silver, but I didn't know how to wear it and feel comfortable, honey, listening to you has given me the confidence I needed, you are stunning the wig was gorgeous on you and I will defiantly keep up with your videos.

I ordered a wig from Paula Young, it didn't work for me and returned it and ordered another one since they won't refund your money, this has been 2 months ago and I called they couldn't find my acct. it was a total nightmare, to make a long story short, I still haven't recieved my wig , I ended up looking on Amazon and found one there plus you can return it. Btw, Monday, I plan on calling B.B.B. and reporting they're incompetent business.

      @MelsBeAgeless  Рік тому +2

Sharon, sorry to say most sellers don't allow returns. Most people in those groups just turn around and sell to someone else in the Group. I have been lucky. I do know I don't like blondes with yellow tints and so I stay away from those. Know first if you are cool tones or warm tones and buy with that inn mind.

I think Well Played has the most amazing lace front. I’ve had people who know I’m wearing a wig just stand and stare at my forehead and say…but it’s coming out of your head! Not believing it’s a wig! I love RW wigs and have several other wonderful styles. I pull out my sides too making the look more realistic. You look beautiful in your natural color ❤

Thank you for being gutsy enough to do this video. You made a statement that resonates with me. I’m 63 and I’m totally gorgeous grey. My hair is thin but I do lots of tricks with it when I have to go anywhere. It’s also halfway down my back and I love it. I couldn’t care less what others think. It’s my hair. I don’t tell anyone how to wear their hair. I have recently been looking at Toppers because that’s where it’s the thinnest. But one day, I assure you, I’ll be sporting a wig and it will look just as beautiful as your’s.

@@MelsBeAgeless well as your @ handle implies, you are ageless! Wishing you much happiness today on your birthday 🎂❣️. The years have been very kind to you as they have been to me. Age is just a number right? I still want to have as much fun as I did back in my 20’s. (I just have to get my body on board with that though 😂.) Medication has been my enemy with my hair loss. However I’ve been taking zinc supplements and it seems to be helping. I’m gaining some hair where my hairline was receding just above my forehead. I’m excited about it! But many blessings to you in your 66th year of life and wishing you well as you journey forward.

Ive been growing out my hair for the first time in my life- and Im 67 and grey! Through the growing out process, I was able to find one wig I adored and feel fabulous in, The next one I bought was longer- I thought a "natural progression", but I ended up cutting a bang in which Im not that thrilled about, plus Ive thinned it because it had way too much volume. Enough about me. What I really have been struggling with is how to put a wig on over my now longer hair. Thanks for this vid. My hair isn't quite as long where I can braid it, but soon. :)

I finally cut mine into a pixie, it thinned out so much. If it's not quite long enough for a Braid, can you put into two low pony at back? Then tuck the ends overlapping under a wig grip or cap.

So close to my bio hair and my mother in law never noticed till I brought it up. I also found the wig grip with the see thru part made a huge difference in how natural it will look. Wow, you have such beautiful bio hair. The color is stunning and it’s so healthy and shiny and a good density. If I could give you one piece of advice from a 100% wig wearer for seven years now due to hair loss…don’t use fabric softener on your wigs. It is really bad for them and will eventually gunk it up. I ruined 2 like that when I first started wearing wigs. Get a good wig shampoo and conditioner and a leave in spray wig conditioner. I’ve been eyeing this style as it’s the only one left by Raquel that I don’t have but I have something very similar by Belle Tress, so I’m trying to decide if I will get this one and you helped me decide. I wear Shaded Biscuit and Biscuit but the silver is gorgeous and matches your bio hair quite well.

I'm 75 yr old female. I have always had alot of hair. About a year ago. My hair got very thin around my face. I researched alot of hair restoration products but was concerned about side effects. I found "Hi PRO PAC" for extremely damaged hair in Walmart. It is an intense protein Treatment that comes in a 1.75 oz. Packet. I started applying it to my scalp and dry hair about three times a week. I would just use it as a shampoo and not use any other product. One Packet was good for about three treatments.within a out three weeks I noticed hair regrowing in the bald spots. I haven't used shampoo in nearly a year. I just apply the HiProPack. Leave in about 20 minutes and then rinse. All of the bald spots have recovered and my hair is restored. This is alot better than those products containing drugs! Best wishes for 2023 ❤.

Funny the timing, I just washed and dried and straightened the ends. It still looks good. The ends need to be cared for (used a straightening iron) and at the nape of the neck. When I lean back in a chair, I always pull the hair to the front to avoid frizzing the ends. Enjoy, it's a great wig!

"Bitten by the wig four," that's great. All of the reasons they give apply to most of us. Of course also on me. I've never had particularly nice hair, but now it's utterly impossible in old age. That's why I've been wearing long hair toppers for a few years now. But now I've bought my first wig. Unfortunately I'm not friends with her yet. It's the same hairstyle as my topper, but it feels like a helmet. The ear tapes are also annoying because I can't put my hair behind my ears with a headband. I'll be getting another model soon though. Hope this is more comfortable then. Love from Eva-Marietta

Wondering if you could list the wig manufacturers you like, Signature, Raquel Welch, etc. I think the really important thing is the cap. If it's hot and itchy (I think years ago they were). Very much improved. I also know the home shopping networks sell wigs. Don't know what brand.

So sorry to hear. Just a thought, but maybe take it to a stylist to thin it out and cut off some length! I have taken a bit off of mine and will probably do a few more inches. If you use thinning shears you can use them at the very base of the wig up to the cap and thin if you are comfortable with that.

@@MelsBeAgeless Hello. What I love about toppers - with my fine, thin hair and gray roots I still color, they’re perfect for me. I’ve always had skimpy hair and that only seems to increase as I get older. Most of the toppers I like I bought at a local wig shop. When I buy them online, it’s been pretty hit and miss. I still buy the occasional topper online but they haven’t been my favorites due to either color or the style.
I probably have about 8-9 so far and I’ve been wearing them for a couple years. It started when I couldn’t get to the salon early on in the pandemic and I started watching videos about alternative hair.
I bought three brands so far: Jon Reneau, Raquel Welch and Godiva Secret. I bought the latter from a local rep. Trying it on in front of her, my gut was telling me it wasn’t the perfect topper for me. There was a lot of machine teasing and it seemed pretty full on top - and because I have such fine hair, it didn’t look as natural my other toppers. But I ended up still buying it since she had pre-ordered it for me and I paid a deposit. I do love the Godiva Secret brand, though, and always watch their videos. If I ever make it out to their place in California, I may purchase another topper from them again.
I’ll be interested to see if you try and like toppers!

I have always had thin and fine hair and never knew how my hair would behave from day to day. My first wig was a topper that I got from China about 6 years ago. I dyed it to my color and it was fabulous! I scored on my first but it got to looking fake after a couple of years and hard to manage. My bad was that I never kept track of where I got it! Since then I have been bit by many wig companies online. I am feeling discouraged because I do not know where to go. Maybe I need to understand how to take care of them or where to buy them!

I managed to get my money back with the help of paypal. I hope through my video's I can help. If you wear wigs really often, they can last longer if taken care of, I must agree. Two years, honestly, is a nice amount of time if worn a lot. Have you tried Raquel Welch Toppers? It's such a great brand of wigs.

Mel, I just discovered you! My good luck!! I have been looking a loooog time for a really realistic WHITE, not grey wig with NO roots. I had auburn red hair and when it came in light it was not gray or pewter or blondish white..it is stone white! Looks like roadkill half red and half white. You look SO gorgeous in your hairdos please have mercy and tell us/me what wigs you wear but most importantly what COLOR or number the colors are. I've had medium long to long hair for years and wear it wavy or fluffed out. Age as I'm sure you know has exactly zero to do with how long you wear your hair. Anybody who is presumptuous enough to tell someone as gorgeous as you how to wear their hair needs to get a life. You totally rock!!!

Look at wigs.com site and there are measurement instructions. That way you will know the correct size to order. They stay on! You can wear wig grips for extra security.
