Peanut Butter Chocolate and Banana Smoothie

- Hey guys I know you wake up and sometimes do not have time for a proper breakfast. Well check this out when you are on the run and you will have a great start to the day!

Ingredients:
2 Fresh bananas
16 Oz. Almond milk
3-4 Oz. water
1 Oz. Peanut butter
2 Tbsp. cocao powder
Ice cubes
Procedure:
1. Add all ingredients in a blender or using a Nutri Bullet and combine until smooth.
* Add milled flax seed and/or steel cut oats for added nutrition! - Навчання та стиль
This is one of my favorite smoothies. I've been making this for a couple of years. QUICK TIP: If you want it cold and dont want to use ice, I always cut my banana's up in chunks, place them in a ziplock bag and freeze them. I always have these frozen and on hand b/c I use them in different smoothies. If you use frozen fruit, its always cold and you never have to add ice.
P.S. I also add raw honey in this smoothie... DELICIOUS!
Love the tip!! I freeze all sorts of berries because if If I don't they go bad in my fridge. Cranberries are in season and I love them! I buy several bags and freeze them for smoothies because they are only available for a short period of time

Looks great! I love hte idea to pre make this and leave it in the fridge. Would you leave the milled steel cut oats out of it overnight in the fridge?

You could put the oats in before. I have with out a prob. I would mill them into a powder using a mill blade.
Tip: if you want a thicker/icier smoothie without having to water it down with ice, put the bananas in a plastic bag and freeze them the night before. I always have these on hand because bananas can almost always make it break a smoothie. Always makes them more creamy.
Most of the fruit I use to make smoothies are frozen.....especially cranberries as they are only available for a short time. I stock up for the year.

great video. do you just use raw cocoa powder or is it a sweetened variety? I tried making hot chocolate with some special cocoa powder from whole foods and it tasted like bitter death.
Dan Mahar I used raw cocoa powder. If making hot chocolate you definitely want to add some sugar or yukkk!

+Orges Boshnjaku I'm not a nutritionist but I would think having some before would give you added energy and having some after would help supply your muscles with protein and additional sugar to help the healing process.

best combo ever chocolate peanut butter and banana. im not sure about the cocoa powder since it has caffeine and i cant have caffeine.. is there a better substitute for it for this smoothie? id love to try it.
+bambina320 If you can't have caffeine but want that chocolate flavor I would add carob powder or carob chips. They do not contain caffeine and are commonly used for those sensitive to caffeine. Carob is not as intense as cocoa so the amount needs to be adjusted. Generally if using 1 Oz. Cocoa powder you would have to substitute 2 1/2 Oz. Carob powder. The ratio is 1:2 1/2 Carob rocks as a natural substitute to chocolate.

+bambina320 Hi there. Just read your comment. This is Brian (I help Dan make the videos here). I used to make this for breakfast until my acide reflux reacted to the chocolate. I have since tried some alternatives to replace the chocolate. I find that strawberries or raspberries work well with this especially when nice and cold. I did try vanilla carnation instant breakfast for awhile but it was a little strange. But def go with the berries! Hope this helps. -Brian

Of Course!! You can use whatever you like. I like the almond milk because it doesn't make me all phlegmy.

Try a Tbsp. to start. I don't like the taste of it personally and add it only for the benefits it offers. You can add as much as you like according to your taste.

This isn't exactly calorie friendly however it was meant to provide energy and promote a feeling of fullness to start ones day. So worth it!

Yes you can however they will not break up and disperse entirely so it may be a bit gritty.

Why would it not be ok? Some chemical reaction between the banana and the other ingredients not warded off by the powers of the cocoa...?

What about Oatmeal?
Milled oat meal would be an amazing addition and help keep you fuller. Be sure to use steel cut oats as they are whole and have maximum nutritional value.
why add the peanut butter later?
It doesn't really matter when to add it.

There are a few ideas for ways to lose weight naturally
with smoothie detox.
For the Kale-It-Up Smoothie, you will need
1 handful Kale
1/2 apple
1 cup Coconut Water
3. For the Ginger Spice Smoothie, you will need
1 nub Ginger Root
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 handful Spinach
1 cup Purified Water
Here is what you will need for the Cocoa Bliss Smoothie
1 tbsp Dark Cocoa Powder
1/2 cup Coconut Milk
1/2 cup Strawberries
1 cup Ice (if during warmer months)
For the Green and Clean Smoothie, you will need
1/4 Cucumber
1/2 handful Spinach or Other Leafy Green
1/2 Avocado
1 Celery stalk
2 sprigs Fresh Mint
1 Kiwifruit
1 cup Purified Water
1/2 of apple
Squirt of lemon
