    Hi. I received delivery of this little amp today, and what a purchase it is.
    I can’t believe how loud it is, I was thinking, practice amp…quiet, when I turn the volume way down it’s still loud.
    That said, it’s a great piece of kit, I’m loving it 👍
    What makes it even better is this video of yours helping with setting the tones etc, for that I really appreciate what you’ve given us my friend.
    You’ve done it proud.
    I used to have a Vox Valvetronic 15w a while back, and what was good with that amp was that it has an extra volume control on the back that let you set how loud or quiet it was without changing the parameters with its sound, it’s a pity this JC22 didn’t have that as well, it’d be great for this very small room I’m playing in.
    But…the neighbours will just have to get used to it lol

      I really appreciate your comment mate and I’m glad I was helpful to you. You can disconnect the speakers plugging an headphone and if you record through the stereo line out then the volume knob will not affect the speakers and you can crank the volume as you want

    I was so happy when I stumbled on the trick where you set the rate to off and the depth to 2 or 3. It gives you the fuller sound without much of the chorus. With both chorus settings off, the JC isn’t as impressive. Why didn’t I notice the OFf setting? Why?

Up til that point you had only one lead plugged into the mono jack. Are the two leads needed to get the depth effect? And what were the two input signals?

    • @TheSpaceGuitar

      Hi Eddie, in this video it's just amp reverb but there is delay just to deepen things. I use reverb from pedal and amp just when I use a looper in the efx loop and I want to give some air to the drums. But it's not the case of this video. I changed all my loopers by the way and now both RC5 and 500 have their own reverb. Thanks for the comment, if you haven't already please subscribe mate

Ive always had 1 soeaker combo amps except for my minin Marshall stack always has small 5 watt tube amps or Marshall Solid state with tube pre amps so this amp is totally different + I know im not getting the most from it . I never learned how to use it in stereo . Do I need a stereo pedal and two cables to do this maybe,I think? Thank you in advance ,JB from East Coast USA

    • @TheSpaceGuitar
      @TheSpaceGuitar  6 місяців тому

      Yes mate, you need a stereo pedal and 2/3 cables to benefit of the stereo capabilities of your amp.
      If you look carefully the input is divided in Left and Right and in the back there is a stereo ex loop, mono in/stereo out. You can buy a pedal like the TC Plethora X3 to have a range of hi-quality ambient effects that are perfect in the loop but also great in the front.
      Thanks

    Another great video! I've been going through your content lately because I'm really considering getting a JC-22 or JC-40 to complement my Vox AC15. Your videos are informative, and just nice to listen to all around.
    You mentioned using a preamp with this amp... If I wanted to get a bit more tube amp texture but keep the Jazz Chorus clarity, would it be a good idea to put a preamp before my effects pedals and plug straight into the effects loop return to bypass the Roland's preamp?

    • @TheSpaceGuitar
      @TheSpaceGuitar  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks for the kind words, you subscribed, haven't you?
      You made me a very good question and the answer can't be short. But trying to be accurate I would say, no. Plug always in the front of the amp. About the Preamp if it's just some kind of eq/boost you can either choose to run it after the drive or last in the front chain if you don't play stereo. If it's more complicated stuff like a tube Preamp you can try in the loop, even in parallel. Today I received a great pedal that maybe it's the best solution for having tube-like tones at a fair price. Please bear in mind that right now I refuse to get Paid for demos because I prefer to be free and cooperate with builders. This pedal is an Italian handmade boutique amp in a box, very natural and transparent but very violent if you want. It's the Costalab Natural Drive. I will demo it shortly but definitely check it out. Please tell me if I answered you

      @@TheSpaceGuitar Yessir, I am subscribed!
      I think you've helped me find an answer. I'm definitely going for something like a tube preamp. I love my Vox's tube sound, but it doesn't have quite enough clarity for my more ambient effects, which is why I'm interested in the Roland JC. I'm trying to get the best of both worlds by using a preamp to keep a bit of that tube amp texture!
      I've heard that you shouldn't run two preamps in a signal chain, so that's why I was wondering if I should bypass the Roland's preamp by using the FX loop return. I'll want to run a stereo rig for recording, which is a big reason why I'm interested in the Jazz Chorus.
      As for which preamp I'm trying to get, I've been looking at the Vox Mystic Edge so far. Thanks for recommending the Costalab Natural Drive. I'll definitely have to check that one out as I weigh my options!

    JC 22 Owner here with a question about the effects loop. Do you set yours to Series or Parallel? Also my setup is as follows Guitar (P90 Les Paul/Fender Mustang with Single Coil and Humbuckers) to Joyo Compression Pedal to Blues Driver to Front of Amp. In the Effects Loop I have a Joyo American Sound to a Stereo Delay to the L and R Return on the Loop. Does that seem correct?
    If I added a Big Muff would you put that first?

    • @TheSpaceGuitar
      @TheSpaceGuitar  3 роки тому

      Hi Sherman, the chain is correct, but as it is you can also plug everything in the front using the stereo output of the delay. Anyway, yes, the big muff, goes in front, possibly first in chain, even before compression. If I were in you I add a stereo reverb, and try it in the stereo front, even with the delay in the loop. If you add a looper put it last and always remember that the Jc modulation is always at the end of the chain so if you want a chorus before delay you have to buy a pedal.
