I love that Impulse/Bdubs and Rendog/Bigby, upon finding their soulmates, immediately go, “Wonderful, now to build a home with the love of my life.”
"Oh, we are soulmates? Let's build a house to our love and live together and get a dog and"
And then you have Cleo and Scott, who decide that Pearl and Timmy are not their soulmates, and decide to break up with them.
And then there are Scar and Grian

They are the stereotypes for soulmate fanfiction. There are people who instantly love their soulmate, people who panic but will likely grow to cherish their soulmate, and those who say "Fate doesn't decide what is best for me, I do."

Near the End of MCC Grian admitted he liked how Scott and Cleo decided for themselves.
I did feel kinda bad for pearl, but Scott and Cleo being independent is so funny and so good

I loved how scar went through most of the first day wondering who his partner was whilst grian was just following him, screaming at him
He thought Grian was just looking out for him lol
I honestly think he knew before Grian did, just looking at his reaction when Grian says his soul mate is trying to kill him.
Anyone notice how Grian and Scott have so much in common in the first session?
They both are former winners, soul bound to their partner from the series they won in.
Both figured out who their soul mate was likely to be midway through the session, while their soul mate figured it out at the end with a test. They also stressed as their soul mates got into dangerous situations, almost getting them killed.
Scott and Grian are the truest soul mates who aren't connected by health.

Also, their partners in session 2 caused major incidents involving stolen horses.

I love how everyone's responses ranged from vaguely disappointed to totally devastated, except for Bdubs and Impulse, who were delighted.
Ren and Bigby were quite happy with their discovery as well.
Etho and joel seems fine with it, and so does tango and solidarity(or maybe later in the game lol)
Scar and Grian together is going to be so incredible!
They are the chaos duo. This is gonna be a good series

I can't decide which is funnier: Scott and Cleo figuring out who their soulmates are only to decide "actually, we're soul bound to each other now since you two abandoned us" or Grian finding out that he's soul bound with Scar and then not telling him for the entire episode. Scar getting distracted by everything and not being observant to anything else is so ADHD and I love it, as someone else with ADHD who also easily gets distracted.
Does scar actually have ADHD? Because that would explain so much

Grian went through every stage of grief in his episode when he found out he was with scar
Scar is delightful. A bit kooky but he is always a barrel of laughs.
Context for Ethos’s “Nooooo” is that I think Martin was talking to him earlier about how Joel would be the worst partner since he’s always trying to do the MLG water bucket drops.
i appreciate scott and cleo deciding to not team with their respective soulmates, it puts a nice twist that not every pairing is living together

It's an ADHD thing, when you're so focused on something that your brain says is important that you completely tune out everything else. Scar quite literally did not register all the obvious signs until Grian quite literally dragged him away from his distractions.
Also having the recording show Scar everything he ignored when he's in a calmer state of mind was helpful to him.

This series looks like it's going to be great. But am I the only one who's disappointed that Lizzie and Mumbo aren't there? I know they had their valid reasons, but I feel like we're missing out on some great interactions with those two.
Maybe in season 4 they will be back. Also Skizz is missing as well.

And then Etho's "Noo-ho-ho" followed by a "No I'm thrilled!"
Martin and Cleo fighting was really entertaining.
Both of them being aware of eachother's health, as well as not actually wanting to kill each other, made sure there are no worries like "oh no, what if one accidentally kills the other", and all that was left was pure enjoyment of the situation.
And if they did end up killing each other, that would have been a funny chat.
I'm really hoping that someone has a friendly fire issue and kills their soulmate.

Grian and scar in a alliance, grian having to baby sit scar, impulse and bdubs together, grian and joel being in a somewhat alliance, scar talking about rendog being king, ren and bigb being paired up, mumbo and lizzy dont exists, bdubs being on a high platform with a block of water below him, scar committing arson, and ren gathering lapis to trade for enchanting.

But everyone forgets what a chad the normally death-prone Scar has been in the Life series. In Last Life, people ganged up on him specifically because he had so many lives and wouldn't lose them. That, and hoarding the Enchantment table.
Though it may seem strange, but Scott and Cleo not accepting their mates is showing how some of relationships work. If you really want you can be happy with someone you're not meant to be with. Ex partner still hurts you (in some kind), but you don't care at all. Very interesting, maybe we'll see more references to real world. Maybe another breake up?

There is a few good realizations with soulmates that I just can't help but love.
Grian finding out Scar was his soulmate and trying to get him to realize that he was his soulmate after being in a genuine panic mode was great.
Scar finding out by Grian showing him and the "... oh my god." that conveys how obvious it was to everyone else.
Tango and Solidarity meeting up and having a chat about what happened with the cave
BDoubs and Impulse just quickly making the connection and realizing they are connected
Martyn accidentally causing a find and finding his soulmate at the same time.

I've been wondering: "how could we incorporate soulmate switching" and I was also thinking that the Boogeyman could still be interesting.
This line of thought gave me the following idea: The boogeyman wouldn't want to kill his soulmate (duh), so they'll hunt down a different soul-couple. Lets say A and B are soulmates, B is the boogeyman. X and Y are also soulmates. B kills X, as a result, Y dies as well. After they respawn, X and Y are no longer linked and neither are A and B. Instead, A is now linked with X while B is linked with Y

But then they wouldn't share lives. How could A, who might have three lives, match up with X, who'd have lost a life and be on two or even one life? They wouldn't be sharing lives anymore, only health, which could be a form of sabotage. If a pair has a disproportionate amount of lives, then one could be killed off while the other remained, leaving them alone. A soulbound pair is supposed to have the same amount, and adding or removing lives from one person to mix it up would prove an unfair advantage/disadvantage.
