- I was working on this animatic before work, at lunch break and after work every day for 4 weeks! I just fell in love with this season and wanted to speedrun this animatic. Now it's finally time to relax haha!!
I think next animatics wont be so big as these past two. I need to do something small for a change.
How Scar's cane is holding up on his back? Well, he has a belt with a strong magnet under his clothes. So he can just hook his cane in one motion. Pretty convenient.
Also I've never drawn cats before.

Scar animated should always have a cane. It fits him so well.
Somehow I wanted to show that he has health problems irl. But canes really suits such a charismatic salesman character as Scar
my favorite headcanon is that he uses vex magic to walk or leg braces from mumbo, and when his magic reserves are down he uses his wheelchair or a cane. Also, I love the idea that every season he has to build a new wheelchair, and makes one tailored to whatever theme he has for the season.
All of these headcanons I love so much!
it also fits in well since he calls his pickaxe a wheelchair armrest, so also gives cane vibes
Scar presents himself in minecraft as a peak physical specimen. So for me, I prefer to see his IRL health problems distanced from his minecraft persona, because that's what he seems to want as well.
I LOVE the shot where Grian is trying to pull Scar away but he digs into the ground with his cane. It’s so expressive!

i personally have never drawn anything for longer then an hour that isnt a cat. but I can agree, they are adorable :D
I've heard theres a theory in drawing cats, just pick a curvy shape at random and give it cat features, somehow it will always end up looking like something a cat would naturally do. Of course I fail at the "give it cat features" cuz I cant draw, but somehow the theory does hold for people who can, and its adorable
Cats are easy to draw, tho. You just draw a liquid with eyes

reminds me of the movie In time. Where their time and life is the same thing. AND NOW AS I TYPE THIS I realize that In Time and Limited Life have quite a few similarities.
Such a simple, yet expressive style! The posing does wonders for what emotions and situations are conveyed I love it sm-- And just in general, the artstyle's very charming!!

Literally only grian could have the energy to put up with scar. Its such a good thing they were together. Also I think I've fallen in love with pretty much ever animatic that includes scar in it at this point. He's ALWAYS so adorable and i just wanna hug his oblivious self 🥺

@@persefida but late to this, but I use my cane as a kind of hook sometimes. Like I’ll take the handle to nudge the upper torso of people, and the tip of it for the legs. I also toss it back and forth between hands and spin it
First part of the sheer panic for needing to eat to regain health was so spot on. Everyone just kind a dropped what they were doing and threw stuff at Grian cause they could tell it was a huge panic moment.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but I adore the way you drew Scar's skin with Jellie on his head! The way he scares G with it translates well through the drawing, and the way Scar looks out from under the cloak is a really nice touch.

This animatic so elegantly and simply translates the tone of the clips and the Minecraft blockiness into easily understandable and readable artwork! If someone who has never seen double life saw this they could easily pick up the gimmick of the series-- and that it's based in minecraft,
you're not afraid to animate pauses between dialogue and silences which is something I noticed with the mumbo vault animatic as well, it's a great strength to have :D this is one of the best hermit animatics I've seen !

Scar is such a klutz, airheaded, superchill guy it makes perfect sense to have him use a cane and everyone has to look out for him as he mindlessly fumbles around! Its hilarious. That touch of having him use the cane as an anchor to stop Grian from draggin him away, just perfection!
ohhhh this is so fun! your style is lovely, and the way you draw jellies is so precious, i wanna give them a big hug. also, the lil detail with grian’s health being shown on his arm is really cool!

scar's lack of perception ceases to amaze me
The more I see these scenes the more convinced I am that Scar was COMPLETELY aware of it from the same moment Grian found out, but he’s just staying in character at this point…and wanted to troll Grian. He’s playing too conveniently distracted every time he should find out. I know it’s Scar and unawareness is his thing, I think he’s leaning into it on purpose and for the content.
I’m currently about 75% convinced he’s improvised acting. Doing it well as well. “And what was the no for?” I MEAN…
1. That’s hilarious.
2. It gives away that he’s playing dumb.
okay he is definitely playing dumb with the "and what was the no for?" as a joke, I don't think he was actually trying to fool anyone there. but i'm conflicted on whether or not i believe he didn't actually realize they were soulmates.
@@flitefulwantssubs402 I know that was definitely a joke. It just kinda fit in with him making a joke out of it all. It’s not proof perse, just shows that amplifying the Scarness to make it funnier was on his mind.
Again, 75% convinced. Not a 100, but I’m getting that feeling. What I am 100% sure of is that Scar’s a great entertainer that knows what people love about him and expect of him and who doesn’t mind having a laugh at his own expense.

It IS hard to show Scar's disability, when his minecrafrt character always runs (usually from his enemies or to them to sell something xD ) so I thought the cane is a good compromise between minecraft-irl-animations c:
@@persefida Yeah, Watcher!Grian is a like- au/ headcanon type of thing, and it has to do with the idea that Evo Smp and the Life Smps may be linked! It's pretty cool, but MAN did it get big!
I personally prefer the idea of Grian being a Harpy, so I'm probably gonna draw that! Maybe with some elements of Watcher!Grian, but still more just Harpy. I've already drawn Mumbo as a Vampire, and I'm gonna draw Scar as an Elf, so Harpy Grian would fit right in!

I could watch this over and over. Absolutely beautiful. So expressive, and the artistic liberty you took with the scenes was absolutely perfect! It didn’t pull away from the original scenes too much, but you added your own flair. My favorites were scar unleashing a hoard of jellies from under his cloak and Grian dragging scar into a tree as he explains everything. Brilliant work.

oh this is my new favorite animatic EVER!! the style and designs and expressions are all fantastic, but my absolute FAVORITE thing is the way that you interpret minecraft in-game actions!! theyre all so unique and absolutely DELIGHTFUL to watch!! :D i just keep rewatching it and looking at all of the actions - the rope, climbing into the boat, throwing pebbles, whispering behind the shield. it's all so great!!!!

I meant it as a joke because of all the shenanigans that occur between the two of them, and Scar's tendency to die often. I didn't actually think it would happen. I fully expected to be wrong lol.

"So what was the 'No' for?" and Grian trying his best to not vent out on frustration... You can hear he is trying sooo hard to not break down. His memories from the previous season really took a toll on his will to keep Scar from doing dumb things like going everywhere with just a couple of hearts and tempting the end of the series.

It was Scott saying Grians soulmate was going to either be Jimmy or Scar. Jimmy has been the one to be our first this entire series (Third/Last/Double) and Scar is known for just dying all the time in Minecraft
