Harry Ferguson understood that good ploughing means good farming and with the increased mechanization of agriculture the inefficiency of traditional ploughs soon became clear to him. Ferguson recognized the opposing natural forces at work on the tractor and plough made the job harder and began designing a simple yet effective way of making them work for the benefit of the farmer.
In this programme we explore the advantages of using the Ferguson system and the superior ploughmanship that can be obtained from its use then celebrate its success as the 100,000th Ferguson plough comes off the lines. Two more outstanding films educate farmers on the use and maintenance of their Ferguson ploughs, demonstrate the most efficient method for ploughing lands economically and teach the finest techniques and corrections of an accomplished ploughman.
Good Ploughing is an skill for which all farmers can take pride and with the help of the TE20 tractor, a Ferguson Plough and the genius of the Ferguson system even a novice farmer can quickly master The Art Of Ploughing.

I started ploughing in 1953 but the family thought Uni would be a better furrow to plough. Oh dear they were wrong. I've still got the Fergie and plough and still can't plough. Might go out today and try my hand again. I'm 72 and don't work as well as the outfit. Which has survived intact all these years. The farm was a few mikes north if Inverness on good lower upland hilly stony soil. But only 300 ft above sea level with views of the Moray Firth. Now I'm on inland East Lothian rich heavy clay soil - hard going for the 2 litre petrol engine. Come and see it at Saltoun Hall. Gregor Robertson.

      Ploughing is the British spelling
      Plowing is the US spelling.
      Same pronunciation, same meaning.
"He learnt to plough" - British English
"He learned to plow" - American English

Now....doesn't the American spelling and pronouncing sound SOOO much better and smoother.....thats why we changed the spelling and pronouncing of so many words. Makes the language smoother and cleaner and flows better...sorry England but thats the truth.....

Your an Idiot mate, You made reference to how the American version of the English language is much better, i was referring to your tv shows that are made in in the south of the good old us of a that need sub titles so we can all understand what they are saying, not an old film that is of course not easy to hear. By responding to this you will only confirm to the world that yes you are a complete inbreed half wit.
