Everybody thinks plowing is over. But it's still good for some fields and certain crops. Also for some kinds of weeds, like green onion. It helps alot in organic farming. The old plow ain't dead yet!

He last minute or so was a real tear puller since it reminded me of me and my dad and all of the memories we have made by moldboard plowing and I am only 16 years old.

I think my tractor is adjusted correctly for my plow and I am pulling a single plow with my tractor. It has a 32 hp engine and is plowing in soil which have not been worked in years. My grandfather used a horse and plow the soil, but I will be using a tractor with my plow first, and then go over the soil with my tiller to prep it for planting. I have a middle buster to open up rows for planting after that and hope to be getting a nice return in vegetables, and melons.

Dont quite understand your math equation. I have a 25 horse, pulling 2 -14's. My number came out to 5003.46, so what does that mean?

That number is how many pounds your tractor can pull

it's common knowledge what most tractors were rated for two plow 3 bottom 4 bottom or 5 bottom John Deere plow pull harder then Oliver Minneapolis Moline or White Plows .. I have a Moline 4' 16" moldboards that pulls easier than a John Deer with 4 14" moldboards ..

Absolutely. With the same tractor, we could pull a whole bottom more with an Oliver over a Deere plow. However we also noticed it made a difference in the moldboard type, our Oliver plow did not do as well in our clay & sod ground as a Case plow which had longer moldboards and longer points. We sold the Deere plow and exclusively used a 3-18 Oliver and a 3-16 Case plow for over 20yrs.

John Deere's claim to fame is less fuel consumption
