That's a great grocery haul and very affordable. All of that produce looks beautiful! I'm from Alaska. If I could get all of that here it would much more $. Proud of you for supporting your bodies with such great choices. Prayers for a full recovery. 🙏💜
i am a plant based 10 year Breast Cancer survivor one thing i highly recommend adding to your diet is Turkey tail mushroom ...seriously look into it i used to do research until my fingers bled this has some solid research behind it . i still take it to this day. i used the real Mushroom company since they have all the testing stats available. my prayers are with you
I'm from Belleville Illinois. Glad you are doing so good. My prayers are with you!! Love you guys. I'm also a Christian and truly believe God gives us everything we need to heal. Good luck to you both. God bless you and your family.
Tip for the broccoli sprouts just add a little bit to your salads and smoothies, a small amount that you can't even taste when it is mixed with everything else. And then from there add a little bit more each day and work your way up! Your body will start craving it eventually, you guys know about the change in taste buds 😉. I also couldn't stand the taste of broccoli sprouts but this was the way I trained myself and now I eat them as a salad with a good dressing or avocado 😋. Hope this is helpful!
Hi you two lovely people…I loved watching your haul, not only to see what you eat, but also to see what you get in America different to us in England.. I have to tune my ear into your accents, but got it wrong today, I think Traitor Joes is a funny name, just realised I got that very wrong ha.. God bless you both..hugs xx
I have to give you props, Jessica, I went through exactly what you are going through 6 years ago and I don't think on day two after chemo I would be up for making a video (and being so darn cute doing it) I would be mentally prepping for the two days where all my bones hurt. I think about you often and when I do I send all of the cancer fighting unicorn energy I have your way.
I’m so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis! My husband is a cancer survivor! Some of the things we included in his diet SPROUTS! Especially broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, kales, Swiss chard, radishes, arugula! The sprouts have more nutrients! Loads of different types of mushrooms! Pumpkin, sunflower and watermelon seeds everyday! I pray you get better🙏🏾💕!
I asked my doctor specifically about grapefruit, and he said it was no problem. I was on same regimen as you earlier this year, before I had surgery. On different regimen now. My whole adventure started in December 2021 so I’m a little ahead of you.
There seems to be a lot of varying info out there... I guess I'll just avoid it for now and enjoy my oranges until I'm through the chemo 🙃Also best wishes to you on your "adventure" ❤❤❤
Sending you positive energy Jessica. Brian is totally supporting you with his broccoli recommendations! Just remember you are ahead of the game by continuing your whole food plant based diet. God Bless!
When I was little, my Dad grew a lovely garden. He grew radishes. He would pick out a radish, and eat it right then. He told me that the lovely red and white vegetable, were like eating candy! I have loved them since! Praying for you both.
I gotta say, I hate food hauls. Idk … no one would ever want to watch my grocery haul. It feels pointless. BUT look at all the helpful suggestions on here, piggybacking on what you got! You are the only exception my friends 🎃
Pumpkin seeds help after chemo also. I am also a vegan, have had chemo and understand your excitement of a grocery store visit. Blessings for continued good days and strength! ❤
You guys are such an inspiration. You motivate people like me,who have low energy due to health issues, to keep pushing forward. If you can do it with all you’re going through, so can I.❤
Oooh, I forgot.... I love broccoli sprouts!! I make sure I have some in my fridge ready to go at all times. They are great to eat raw in salads. I do recommend growing your own sprouts, they taste much better when they're absolutely fresh.
I'm in Tucson, AZ and I think the amount you spent was fantastic for all you purchased! I was guessing around $300, so since it came in under that's fantastic! I love you two (or 3 including Peef) and send out well wishes and positive vibes for your recovery!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Long ago I saw an article in a magazine about a woman who beat a rare form of incurable cancer eating almost nothing but organic brown rice and raw organic fruit and vegetables, mainly juicing them. Juicing was a big deal back then. This article inspired me to get serious about a WFPB diet.
When my mom was dying of cancer she only wanted to drink buttermilk, nothing else. Her oncologist told me that it was common in cancer patients. Cancer loves dairy. Cancer hates raw fruit and vegetables.
Of course you have to cook legumes and grains, but if you add more raw nutrients by juicing fruit and vegs, it can only help. Just flood those cancer cells with what they hate!
If you have grill access, today we did a pile of red, orange & yellow bell pepoers and piblano pepoers all fire roasted over Applewood we've done several cup silicone covered ice trays. There's 4 cups per trays they have a 3 tablespoon size which is great for lemon and lime juices, larger portions also available!
This haul is the best thing you have done so far. Best raw, but if need be can steam. Juices are great. Drink lots of carrots/green apples juice. Soursop fruit is also a major Cancer fighter.
I love that you are being active with a healthy, nutrient rich diet. I found during my chemo journey that I needed to be flexible because what I could tolerate or had an appetite for changed day by day. I think my protein and calorie needs were higher with all my body was dealing with. And I went through a 6 week period of eating only plain yogurt, eggs, and popsicles because I had mouth and throat sores. Everything else felt like I had licked a hot skillet. Each cancer journey is different, but I completely understand the incredible strength you two have in fighting this battle. Stay strong.
I make a green goddess dressing with yogurt. All Greek yougurt ten garlic cloves and scallions. You can add spinx CH for a more green affect or correlka spiralini. ...its yummy good for system great on wheat crackers
I eat broccoli sprouts with every meal(3-4 cups a day)...you get used to them. Or make a delicious tahini mustard dressing (Simnett Nutrition on YT) to flavour them. You can also freeze sprouts and then throw them in a smoothie! Blessings to you both!!
Also, you can make your own almond milk pretty easy, pulp can be used to make nut cheese. Our fav lately is flax milk- 1/4 cup with 2 cups water in Vitamix 2minutes and strain through nut bag✨ process a little longer for coffee froth😋
You guys are so inspiring.... this vid is chock full of great suggestions! Thanks for taking the time to share, esp since Jess wasn't feeling great but she looks awesome! Keep up the great work and stay strong! 🥰❤️💪🏻
Love the broad selection of healthy veggies. Love your enthusiastic delivery and I also love the hat, Jessica. Also Kidney beans are great at filling you up on a cold day when your stomach needs that little extra something.
Love watching your videos, you both have such great personalities and wow how loving and respectful you are to each other. You’re an inspiration as a couple and individually totally amazing. I love some tips I’ve gotten- the cherries in a crappy tasting smoothie ( sometimes I don’t get it right), cayenne pepper and tempeh which I’ve never given a chance but I will now! $260 was a steal you got so much good stuff.

I heard Dr. Michael Greger recently say that he now wishes he had included mushrooms in his "daily dozen" food list. Also he says that if you chop your greens and cruciferous vegetables 45 minutes before eating then the chemicals in them can mix that produce sulforaphane so you get the greatest amount. I buy the 1 lb. boxes of super greens and chop them, wait 45 minutes, and pop them in the freezer for smoothies or hot soups.
Even better the 2nd time around... lol. Great haul, and we all learned something, but actually you should have been told by your chemo provider. Glad you have good viewers who caught it. Looking forward to that great weird green soup. Rest well Jessica.
This is so helpful, have just Started chemotherapy for breast cancer, have been reading alot about what foods to eat for immune system and Recovery ,can be overwhelming so to have it simple like is is Great, also will stock up on Brazil nuts now , wish you both all the best
I asked my oncologist about grapefruit and she said it wasn't a problem for the chemo drugs I would be on. But, I don't really like grapefruit so I was avoiding it already for other reasons. Great haul! Good to see this video reposted.
It looked like you took my shopping list with you when you went shopping. Everything you bought is something I buy or would buy myself. You guys are the cutest couple ever!
Enjoyed seeing your food range. Thinking of you Jessica, and really hoping that round-2 will be kind to you. Thanks, Brian, for being such a support to Jessica 👋🤗🙏
I live across the street from Trader Joes but I admit to windmill cookies. You know for the kids 😂😂😂 Once maybe cookie butter. Ok I will try the nut mix instead. I am feeling hungry. Take care you Krocs 🤗🥰🙏🏻
I love your hat, great color for you. Awesome grocery run presentation. I learned some nutritional information from the both of you that I wasn't aware of..Thank You, and big hugs.
I hope you will see this: 1. Do you buy the broccoli sprouts or grow them? Mine always mold 2. A great recipe for broccoli is from thug kitchen called toothbrush salad. I think you all really would like it. 3. Dr Gregers green smoothie video here on UA-cam has horseradish. It is delicious
I am on chemo, my Dr allows grapefruit, its healthy... I have had no issues. If you have questions, call the pharmaceutical company that is linked to your specific chemotherapy. The pharma companies know more than Drs do tell you the truth on restriction. See what pharma company that produces your chemo solution. Easy peezy. Groceries are so expensive its getting out of control the cost for groceries..... I don't keep much food in the house at once,I like it very fresh. Just getting through this awful hurricane in Florida, trying to pick up the pieces to recover from this hurricane disaster and dealing with cancer is been a difficult time. God is so Faithful 🙏 Your going to get through all this, stay positive 💞
So great to see You just enjoying each other! Have you ever used horseradish on your Brussel sprouts? We love extra hot horseradish too. I do live close to Amish communities and get fresh locally made horseradish. Keep on fighting the good fight!! Best wishes for healthier days ahead!!
Do you guys like avocado toast? I grew broccoli sprouts in a mason jar with a sprouting lid. When they were done, I added some to avocado toast. It’s pretty good. If you don’t like that, you can always hide them in your smoothies.
Just a note to say that you don't need to freeze your lemon juice. We buy a couple bags, squeeze them all into a bottle and it keeps in the fridge with zero problems for a very long time. Hope you both are doing well.
Cost varies by location. I was shocked how little you spent. You could easily double that around here, not to mention, Trader Joe’s is 60 miles from home and Whole Foods is 40. It looks phenomenal. I knew that jar of horseradish immediately! Enjoy.
If it’s possible to buy a whole horseradish you can just peel it and keep it wrapped in the freezer. Every time you need some just shred a bit of the frozen root and then put the rest back for next time! Best health wishes for you!
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing you two and your food haul. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us, and explain everything to us. It's so wonderful that you have each other! Sending love to you both.
That amount that you paid for your grocery is nothing! I have 7 kiddos and we spend about $400- $500 a week in grocery! I know that is crazy but when you have a big family it takes alot to feed them!💖
it's a little for the big return i am in Canada, for us it's about 550 a week. all organic plant based for 2 including natural hygiene products we shop also whole foods, farmers market, costco for organic staples. living healthy is not cheap for sure.
KK, I am impressed and inspired by your grocery haul. I live by that TJ frozen brown rice. Jessica, try 5 Defenders powder. It is a mix of five mushrooms, dehydrated and pulverized. I stir it into hot chocolate and coffee. I also give it to my 17 y.o. dog.
Have you guys tried fermented veggies? Its so easy to do, just salt and water and it really intensifies the nutrients in what youre eating them with, plus the nutrients in the specific veggie. You get millions of organisms to help digestion and tons of omega 3s etc You can add things to flavor it up and you need very little at a time.
That looks so tempting. I am allergic to Bananas, Gluten Coconut and all other Nuts now I so miss them all makes getting well balanced plant based diet challenging. Celery and Carrots do not like me and not allowed Grapefruit but even removing them still loads I can munch I just need to persuade my husband to buy when doing shopping he is veg adverse and I am mainly confined to bed.. I keep adding different veg to list and live in hope he braves the shop.
You two are the cutest! Interestingly grapefruit does not mix with a number of classes of drugs like statins, blood pressure, antihistamines, anti-anxiety, organ rejection drugs just to name a few.
For what you bought I think it’s fair. Could it be cheaper? Sure if you buy generic and non organic. But is trading your health for saving $25 or so worth it? Absolutely not. Y’all did good! Continuing prayers 🙏🏻☺️ from a cancer survivor. 💚
What a trooper Jessica!! Have you guys tried the Organic shelf stable soy milk from TJs (organic soy beans & water only)? That’s my favorite and I order by case since they tend to run out a lot. My daughter will drink it straight but I’ve never liked “milk” so I just add it to things and cook with it.
I left to fill my coffee and came back just in time to hear …R Kelly… lol had to play it back cause I was so confused why you would be talking about him 😂 ohhh JR Kelly!
Hi guys! I love ruby red grapefruit and can’t eat any grapefruit or juice since I’m on oral chemo. I had to stop taking vit C as well. I have been diagnosed with leukemia. It’s only been about a year and it’s still an adjustment as I’m sure y’all are realizing. I am very fortunate to have a satellite Cleveland Clinic within 30 min of where we live. If I were you I would ask your oncologist about eating grapefruit etc. Maybe you can have it! Lol I love your show! Blessings to y’all! Ruth from Ohio🧡
I love you guys so much! You are my superheroes. Have you seen any of Dr. Brooke Goldner's videos? She has a program of hypernutrition she uses successfully to up people's immune systems. I would recommend watching "Dr. Brooke Goldner - part 2 - the whole interview, q&a" It might help!
If you can find a combo of broccoli, alfalfa, clover and radish sprouts to eat or to sprout, that mixture is very nice in sandwiches (e.g. with hummus, tomatoes, etc.). You are getting the benefit of at least some broccoli sprouts (which are much richer in sulforaphane than mature broccoli is) but the taste is "diluted".

KK, I am impressed and inspired by your grocery haul. I live by that TJ frozen brown rice. Jessica, try 5 Defenders powder. It is a mix of five mushrooms, dehydrated and pulverized. I stir it into hot chocolate and coffee. I also give it to my 17 y.o. dog.
Agreed, not a fan of the broccoli sprouts. I just freeze for smoothies. I sprout other seeds and legumes and enjoy those fresh.
also my husband puts that nut butter on his rolled oats and almond milk for breakfast. he adds no sugar dark unsweetened choc chips too.
Hi guys. Jessica I'm glad to see you looking good and I pray for you every day
Have you guys tried fermented veggies? Its so easy to do, just salt and water and it really intensifies the nutrients in what youre eating them with, plus the nutrients in the specific veggie. You get millions of organisms to help digestion and tons of omega 3s etc You can add things to flavor it up and you need very little at a time.
You have inspired me … Great choices. 🧸🧸🧸🌻
Looking good, you guys! Sending prayers, love, and hugs! XOXOXO
I have an apt Thursday that I’m dreading 😟 it took a lot to even make this appointment but you gave me that push!! You are looking good and healthy!!
Such a beautiful couple God bless you both 🙏❤️
You two are the cutest! Interestingly grapefruit does not mix with a number of classes of drugs like statins, blood pressure, antihistamines, anti-anxiety, organ rejection drugs just to name a few.
I thought the cost would be higher. You made a good haul. Enjoy.
Watching this makes me actually want to go shopping for produce,, you make it fun and seem delicious lol
True! Grapefruit doesn’t work well with many drugs.
Cuteness overload! The WFPB anti cancer diet from Chris Wark rocks. You're mostly there with this haul. Garlic, garlic, garlic.
Weird Green Soup!!! Yum ❤❤❤
Yummy produce. That hat really suits you a great fit🎩
For what you bought I think it’s fair. Could it be cheaper? Sure if you buy generic and non organic. But is trading your health for saving $25 or so worth it? Absolutely not. Y’all did good! Continuing prayers 🙏🏻☺️ from a cancer survivor. 💚
You guys are so sweet - thanks so much for sharing. Wishing you both the very best .. God bless you. XO
I love cherries- but i always thaw them and check for pits before adding to a smoothie- i usually find one -2 pits out of every bag.
I left to fill my coffee and came back just in time to hear …R Kelly… lol had to play it back cause I was so confused why you would be talking about him 😂 ohhh JR Kelly!
Such an enjoyable video ❤
Hopefully you will add fresh juices and smoothies to help as well. God Bless!
Cascadian Farm is a big thing here on the west coast. they're great!
I use broccoli sprouts I make with a mix of other seeds I sprout and use is on salad and even just the sprout and tofu mayo sandwiches
Everything looks delicious! Could you please let us know what you think of the taste of the pumpkin vinegar? I’m praying for you!! ☮️ ❤ 🙏🏻
