    10:42 the most important reason why the Athenians received Aristagoras warmly and sent ships and men to fight in the Ionian Revolt is that the Athenians were Ionian Greeks themselves. The main tribes of Ancient Greeks are Doric, Aeolians and Ionians. The Athenians are Ionians like the Greeks on the Ionian Coast and therefore had a stronger connection to them and could possibly influence them more easily in the future (which they did). When Miletus fell, the Athenians were grieving as if their brothers died.

    3:15 "xenophobic" isn't a really accurate term to call someone who is enslaved and hates his overlord. But, those people were proud Greeks first and foremost.
