All of a sudden the 2014 Forest Hill band wagoners aren't feelin this album, good thing I been wit Cole since The Warm Up , and this album fire as always
Andrew Camp Band wagoners? That album was critically acclaimed and got him popularity, it was the LP that got me into Cole heavily. Of course, respectfully, I went back and listened to the rest of the discography. His past mixtape/LPs we're alright, people just wanna be hipsters and say that shit was the best thing they've ever heard. Some say that FHD was one of his worst albums when that's straight fucking lies, it's his best and that's no doubt. That album had the most bangers, the best wordplay that I've seen from Cole and it had some nasty instrumentals, to be more specific, original instrumentals. This new album was decent, nothing too insane.
Paul Hwang heavily agree with you. same situation as you. FHD will always hold a special place in my heart. his production and flow on songs like January 28th and wet dreamz are still so amazing to me. 4YEO is polarizing. imo. i keep half the album on constant repeat, but I never listen to the other half. change and 4yeo are some of his best songs of all time, but on the other hand we got shit like ville mentality and folding clothes.
Jesse Ringle I can easily see how people think he is trash after hearing 4 your eyez only, however, if they said the same thing after 2014 fhd then they trippin.
Nas literally passed on the crown to Cole with his own words. Kendrick praises Cole whenever his name is brought up yet people saying Cole is trash? im done man EDIT: J. Cole is recognized by Rakim, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, etc as one of the greatest rappers of our time but according to some guys on UA-cam, they're wrong because J. Cole is "boring."
thagoverment so just because 2 other artist like him means we should to? So you're a follower and you don't have a voice for yourself? So if bad and Kendrick didn't like him your ass would be hating on him too? You're a bitch?
Lmao, completely missed the point. If 2 of the greatest rappers of all time call Cole great, means he is. You can dislike him, but don't ever disrespect him. Cole is a certified Hip Hop legend.
thagoverment just ignore them, they know what they're doing. As long as you know how dope he is and how deep his message is that's all that matters my man💯
I wasn't feeling this album at first, but after a couple of listens, I'm loving it. Whole project takes you on an emotional roller-coaster. This might be his most vulnerable project overall so far
MUK the rap was either cheesy or boring, I fks with him but lyrically this whole album was basic. Also there's nothing wrong with having a slow conscious album, he just did it in a rlly rlly rlly rlly rlly slow way
I think you kinda got it wrong, quint! Most of the Album is from the perspective of his friend who died at the age of 22. Like Cole said in his last track, his friend wanted him to tell his daughter his story, and Cole did it with this record
The album isn't from Cole's perspective. It's from one of his childhood friends who was murdered. The whole album is Cole telling his friend's story from the street life, to meeting the woman who would give birth to his daughter, to having his daughter and the thoughts and feelings he had about being a father, to his death. And this album was meant for Cole's friend's daughter to listen so she can understand who her father was. He wanted to let her know that yes he was in the street, yes he made so bad decisions that put him in danger but his proudest moment was being a father to her. He told Cole this and wanted Cole to relay the message to his daughter if anything were to ever happen to him. It's called 4 You're Eyez Only because it's for his friend's daughter's eyes/ears specifically.
This album wasn't the best of the year , but it was the realist. The story behind it is beautiful. j cole deserve props I don't know how you people can hate him
Definitely not the realist, compared to other rappers who've already dropped. The story is kinda corny and nothing new but it's fine. The concept is the same thing. Half the album puts me to sleep and makes me cringe, the other half is actually pretty damn good. How could She's Mine Pt. 1 be shit, but Pt. 2 be excellent? Neighbors probably the best song. Don't get me wrong, he says some real shit. But like in the ending of Immortal, dude drops some Hopsin level cringe, which sucks because it was a pretty damn good song. I mean dude isn't as bad as Hopsin when it comes to the cringe, but he often hits the same notes. His fan base also pretty Hopsin level fan base bad lol.
What was cringe inducing about the ending of immortal? Everything he said was rooted in fact and he even referenced the Billie Holiday poem Strange Fruit which was ill to me
Insight he's completely boring and overrated. So many people praise this nigga when he is so average and that is what draws a fuck tonne of hate. He has a few good songs but overall he is so average. And when people say "you don't understand the message in his music" there is way better artists than cole that constantly gets praised. He's no where near Kendrick, Earl, Andre3K, Nas, Doom, etc. when it comes to portraying messages through rap. I hope that answers your question.
Air you mentioning kendrick in the same sentence as doom, 3 stacks and nas sums up why I hate kendrick fans lmao he isn't anywhere close to that level especially dooms level.
Hassan Elkhalil the story is about Cole’s friend that was shot and killed and the album is basically his life story for his friends daughter to treasure as a gift from her father to her
Thanks for maturely stating your opinion instead of trying to get a reaction out of disliking J. Cole. I share the same opinion. He's a good artist for sure but pretty overrated.
Music Chair Reviews Him and Kendrick are both heavily overrated. They're good rappers but their fans make it look like everything they release deserves a Grammy or some shit
Deucalion I wouldn't say that about kendrick. he's to creative and actually task risk with his music and sounds. The thing about kendrick no one in the mainstream let me repeat in the mainstream comes close to taking his spot. that people that listen to underground know rappers that can give him a challenge. Kendrick is right where he deserves.
Music Chair Reviews he's an extremely good artist, but that doesn't change the fact that he is very overrated. Untitled to his die hard fans is AOTY and it's not even close. And he cant be on a song with another artist without people saying he bodied them. I love Kendrick but some fans need to chill, same with Cole.
Deucalion i've learned not argue about rappers with more than one responce. That's how you feel. I'm not saying he's the GOAT or best right now. but compared to those in the mainstream he is by far the better MC. Many come close but they have taken more L's then him.
If you noticed the album isint hype or sum he made this album mainly because one of his best friends were killed by a police officer and he had a daughter and j.Cole is thinking about how her daughter is gonna feel when she grows up and is basicly dedicated to her and in the song 4 your eyes only he explains that he's dad was a real niqqa cause he loved her so its mainly to he's bestfriends daughter but he also includes other things
Marry Cervantes exactly, and the reason people don't like this album is because it's not full of bangers and people can't listen closely to these deep bars
Lenny the Crafter Guy yuh and they won't like it specially because their not real cole fans like in his first song the storm he talks about Nina cheating on her man and it can possibly be about the family j.Cole was talking about in 4 your eyes only
snarky comments like this are exactly why there's a stigma attached to j Cole fans - not many other fanbases feel this sense of superiority like j cole fans do.
am i the _only_ one who actually likes this album? people are really jumping on this trend of hating on Cole for no reason. Don't get me wrong, FHD was better but 'Immortal' is a banger imo 💯 smh at least he ain't mumble rapping 🙄
Man, your argument isn't cutting it for me. "At least he ain't mumble rapping"... you are right, but that doesn't justify that this album was weak (not necessarily bad, but weak) in almost every aspect.
I never post comments on videos, I tend to lurk a lot. But I've been bumping this album since it dropped, and Quint you crack me up everytime. The reason this is a big deal to me though is because I lost one of my best friends almost a year ago now. We would chill and listen to Cole every single day, and I remember when Forst Hills came out I showed him your reaction video. Bro, he couldn't fucking breathe. So when 4 Your Eyez dropped, I felt guilty bumping it without my boy. Watching your video today though made me feel like I was with him again, just laughing and busting jokes like we used to. It's funny too, when I tell you my boy looked like Biggie, I swear people would stop him on the streets. I know it probably doesn't seem like much, but this video is a blessing, thank you. And to my boy Bucky, I know he's bumping this album with me every single time. Much love.
Just incase no one knows, the song called "neighbors" by jCole is based on true event where jcole neighbors in the suburbs called the cops cause they saw alot of people coming in and out the house so the neighbors thought jcole was selling drugs out the house but the real fact is Cole usually rents his house out to the poor sometimes so they can get back on their feet without spending a lot of money on a apartment or house. but instead of asking cole about the situation the nieghbors decided to call the cops on him, swat team showed up and knock the door down only to find no one in the house cause jcole was on tour and his buddy was out getting food and finding nothing but a studio room in the house. look it up its true
I was watching a classic rap battle on URL, when I got the notification, and saw what he was reacting to, I said I will come back to that later!!! Merry Christmas from Chicago #BigQuint
This is a good ass album. People are weird hatin on Cole. There's so many more rappers to hate on I mean damn let Cole do his fuckin thing this album is some good shit
No matter your views on this album, let's all just appreciate that J. Cole understands a 20 song album isn't a good idea and just did 10 tracks. S/O to him for keeping that shit contained.
If you listen back to the album especially the last track you'll see the album is about his close friend and his life. The album was made for his friends daughter in memory of his fallen friend. most of the album is told from his friends perspective until the last track
What people missed about this album is that he's speaking from his friend James' perspective on the whole album. On the last track, he talks about how James told him to make this album to leave for his daughter because he felt like he wasn't going to make it. J. Cole isn't speaking from his own perspective, he's talking to James' daughter on this album, detailing her father's life on every track.
In the last track '4 Your Eyez Only' Cole is rapping from his friends perspective explaining to the listener that he was getting caught up into a bunch of trouble with the law for selling drugs, violence, doing hood stuff having run ins with the cops and getting locked up. Eventually getting out and trying to turn his life around for the better, it was hard for him to do so having no school education and a lot of felony charges; getting a job always seemed impossible for him so, he would always go back to to doing the same old things. The song leads into his friend finding out he's going to have an unexpected daughter named Nina which is basically his life. He's telling his daughter to grow up and make something of herself. Her dad is telling her to not live the lifestyle that he's living and to grow up to marry a man that isn't like him either. As the song gets deeper J. Cole is talking to his daughter but the trippy thing about that song is he was rapping from his homeboys perspective the whole time and basically explaining the lifestyle he used to live and what he was doing in order to provide for his own daughter. As the song progresses Cole is talking to himself from his friends perspective and foretelling Cole that he doesn't think he's going to make it to see another day, throwing Cole off guard and trying to figure why he thinks he's going to die but instead of telling Cole his friend is reminiscing on his friendship and telling Cole that he wished he could've lived a lifestyle like him and is asking Cole to look over Nina and make sure she grows up well. Cole's friend also wants Cole to share his story and play is for his daughter (his friends daughter) once she's ready and is all grown up is able realize how he lost his life. As the song progresses Cole tells his Nina that his dad was sacrificing a lot in order to make sure she was good although it wasn't the right way by selling drugs and doing all these other things nonetheless he made sure his daughter was ok. The song is one of the dopest tracks I've ever heard from J. Cole due to the fact that he basically told a whole story in a track which was super deep. And painted a picture for the listener which is super dope to me!
The album was not only about him but about his friend. They grew up in the streets and lead very similar lives. Cole raps from each if their perspectives and makes it seem like one. However, Cole made it out, but his friend couldn't and ended up dead beside of it. They each had a daughter and the last song was Cole telling his friends daughter that he was a good person, even though he got caught up in the wrong life. He is finally delivering the message to his friends daughter, which was his friends final wish. This album goes deep as shit and is truly a master piece for people who take the time to understand lyrics and who are able to piece together a story and interpret a deeper meaning than what is on the surface.
Adan Ortega not really alot of people who listen the current underground game dont like j Cole for real they say he dope but his fan hold him at this super high point that Cole for some people just don't reach compared to other rappers capability
Why can't people like J. Cole, lil Yachty, Kendrick, Young thug, Denzel Curry, Gucci or Chance at the same time? You don't have to like them yourself, but that don't mean they trash for everybody else
the song 4 your eyez only is about james mcmillan jr, who is featured at the ending of change. he is telling cole to tell his story to his daughter after he dies and explain to her everything about him. the last verse is cole rapping to james' daughter and telling her how much he loved her and so forth. it is very similar to sing about me in that he is telling the story of his friends who passed much like kendick did on GKMC.
also in the skit of the little girl speaking about her father passing in ville mentality is james mcmillan jr's daughter talking about her fathers death.
I honestly like this album because it's very different from Cole's previous work. It's less "poppy" and more "jazzy" and smoother. I hate it when people jump on a hate train when an artist tries out something different. Perfect example would be Kanye West.
4 your eyes only the song was the realest shit I ever heard
The way he's talking as his friend and as himself
Jalen Norwood its amazing. i also loved kendricks mortal man ending somg for TPAB
for me it sound even more similar to Sing About Me, one of the last songs in GKMC. He's talking in the perspective of people who passed as well, and both hit me hard. Both songs are between my all time favorites.

Omg but they’re not band wagons 😂 my cousin went to his kod concert and his 2014 fhd drive 😂 my cousin has also been w j Cole since the warm up
@@paulh979alright? fnl is one of his best works
Idk how people can think Cole is trash
Jesse Ringle Definitely not trash he's a great artist, they just think he's overrated which is a fair statement.
Jesse Ringle I can easily see how people think he is trash after hearing 4 your eyez only, however, if they said
the same thing after 2014 fhd then they trippin.
Jesse Ringle like Cole said "I write what's in my heart don't give a fuck who's fuckin wit it"
4 Fake they are
I don't think he's trash I just don't like this new album my opinion that's all.
J Cole haters been working double overtime in December

It's amazing how much weight Quint has lost from jamming to songs over the past 4 years, lol I love it
Only reason people are giving it hate is FHD set the bar, anything he puts out after that, that doesn't have that quality will get loads of hate.
nah false prophets and everybody gotta die set the bar, then the album sounded completely different
Joshy RangersFC FHD was basic too
MUK the rap was either cheesy or boring, I fks with him but lyrically this whole album was basic. Also there's nothing wrong with having a slow conscious album, he just did it in a rlly rlly rlly rlly rlly slow way
Joshy RangersFC I actually liked this more than FHD
Imo 4yeo has a mixtape vibe. He wasn't doing this album for the fans, felt like he was just trying to vent out. But this album is fkn dooooope
Merry Christmas to everyone who sees this fam

Insight nigga he put me aschleep
Insight he is boring most of the time but most people hate him just to hate as a joke

Viwe Mbava no reason??? Wtf this album was his worst, the production was the only "good" thing on here
Viwe Mbava you're not alone I love this album I could care less about what people say true it's not his best but it's still great and in no way bad
people still calling it mumble rap smh
it was weak, this album was weak, fhd wasn't even a classic, I'm expecting a classic from Cole, still haven't got one

I waited to so long fo this.. thanks man for my Christmas present
Congrats on that simple fact he understands now just if he could come toghther with 10 good songs
Austin Crocke if you couldn't find any good songs on here please find a dark hole to crawl into and stay away from music completely
Austin Crocke There's like 3 songs that are pretty damn good. But yeah the other 7 consist of sleepers and cringe-inducers not gonna lie.
+1
Injury Reserve - Floss please!!!
Fire
If you listen back to the album especially the last track you'll see the album is about his close friend and his life. The album was made for his friends daughter in memory of his fallen friend. most of the album is told from his friends perspective until the last track
Lol the heavens opened up at 4:24 when Quint put that brownie to the screen.
I HAVE NEVER CLICKED ON THE NOTIFICATION FASTER

Notification gang 🔥🔥
THIS VIDEO WAS FUCKIN EVERYTHING. REACTION TO J COLE + A FUCKIN SOCCER STORY INBETWEEN TO PLEASE MY WHITE EUROPEAN ASS
This album really grew on me. I really didn't like it at first but now i'm considering it as one of the best rap albums of 2016.
the story behind neighbors made me like that song the most
"The nigga's name was Messi" LMAO
I feel like if he heard this before 2014 fhd he would've hated it.
The ChillyWinds probably not cuz the album kinda sleepy and different not like born sinner simple
My favorite Cole album. Last song really puts the whole album into perspective.
Your channel brings out my love for music even further haha
If you didn't like 4 your eyez only your opinion on music is invalid
Ohhthatsmalik preach
Ohhthatsmalik not even top 5 album of the year. Very overrated.
#LONGLIVESTEELO 47 just cause i'm not agreeing with you doesn't mean i'm dickriding, you just haven't given this album a chance

Chuggy W I've given the album a chance you fuckboi, it was so trash
man I miss the "360p" big quint. It's just different in HD.
FUCK YESSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!
FINALLY AN UPLOAD! Thanks and Merry Christmas Quint.
FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SHIT WHOOOOO
you know your channel good as hell when you excited for a damn reaction.
We need that ab soul
The people who like rap and hate J.Cole, are the same people who think Future is talented. Ridiculous...
TheDreessam I'm a Cole fan but 4YEO wasn't that good
TheDreessam they like that turn up bullshit not real music with a real message
My boy BigQuint playing the beautiful game! keep it going my man Merry christmas and happy new year
i finished my data clicking on this notification
only for QUINT
Cudi & Gambino reactions are needed!! AND MERRY XMAS LETS FUCKING GO

Adan Ortega kodak is trash but uzi be killin shit
I don't like this album and I hate those guys
It's about time waited too long for this!!
I think I was more excited for this video than the album... best Christmas gift...
Why can't people like J. Cole, lil Yachty, Kendrick, Young thug, Denzel Curry, Gucci or Chance at the same time?
You don't have to like them yourself, but that don't mean they trash for everybody else
James Burgess everybody should just respect what they listen to them without comparing
James Burgess i love cole, yachty, Denzel curry, chance, kendrick and lil dicky, and they all different syles
10,000 Subscribers without Videos Thank you bro i been saying this forever, the internet is full of immature mofos
10,000 Subscribers without Videos out of all those rappers I only like Kendrick and j cole
Because I despise mumble rap.
the song 4 your eyez only is about james mcmillan jr, who is featured at the ending of change. he is telling cole to tell his story to his daughter after he dies and explain to her everything about him. the last verse is cole rapping to james' daughter and telling her how much he loved her and so forth. it is very similar to sing about me in that he is telling the story of his friends who passed much like kendick did on GKMC.
also in the skit of the little girl speaking about her father passing in ville mentality is james mcmillan jr's daughter talking about her fathers death.
Shout out to the ones who acted like they ate the brownie
Eric C ✋
what a Christmas gift thanks man for the vids
Thank you been waiting for u man it about time
Who else been waiting for this?? About time. Lol
Feels more like a mixtape than an album but i definitely still mess with it
BIGQUINT IVE BEEN DYING FOR YOUR REACTION OF "KOD"!!!
Literally fucking checked youtube every hour for the last 3 weeks for this damn video. Good to hear from ya quint
Nothing puts a smile on my face like watching my mans break his chair while hyping up songs lol
I honestly like this album because it's very different from Cole's previous work. It's less "poppy" and more "jazzy" and smoother. I hate it when people jump on a hate train when an artist tries out something different. Perfect example would be Kanye West.
j.cole: the everymans everyman💯
a Classic
PASSION,PAIN & DEMON SLAYIN
"Sho nuff Messi got the ball back"😂😂
Yessss thank you man i just ask u the other day to review this thx big Quinn

The album is actually the story of a friend he lost, and he dedicated it to his friends daughter. Went over a lot of people's head.
