Masterpiece in the sense of its artistic value, I’m not gonna bop it on the aux at a party, but I guarantee it’s one of the few albums that you’ll deep at 1am in your room (and yes I’ve listened to most if not all of his work)
The album 4 your eyes only was mostly about J Coles friend who died when he was younger. This song he's talking about his dead friend and telling his story to his friends daughter
No, J cole wrote the album himself. The whole album isn't even about his friend. She's mine, foldin clothes, etc. All had to do with J Cole's life. Every single song on the album (including this one) was written by J Cole himself
@Vicente Peralta2 Yeah your right lol. I said that back in 2014. My brother was playing his album early in the morning when it was out. And I was saying this songs are lame. Then he came and played Fire Squad for me. Bro look at me now 😂 I fuck with Cole heavy now. People just have to give his songs a chance. It's a mentally thing.

hey guys, I really like watching these videos and I'd love to have them react to my music. I just put out an experimental hip hop EP that ive working on for a year. if yall could listen and show some support to help get it noticed thatd mean so much to me

He would wait outside of Jay Z’s studio trying to give him his mixtape and Jay Z took it one day and he was told it wasn’t good enough so he kept working and got Jay Z another tape and got signed by him. He’s everything you want in a rapper someone who has seen unbelievable things in a poor town moved away and worked on his education and also his raps. He’s brilliant and uses his platform to inspire and tell great stories

Whole album please. This album is what made me start listening to other complete projects and made J. Cole my favorite artist. Really lauched my committed love for music.
J Cole is in fact one of my greatest inspirations! Not because I want to be a rapper, but because I want to be the best version of myself! Dan Lavis what makes you think he isn’t? No hate in that question and I fully respect the fact that people have different opinions as to what makes an artist great. But I’m honestly curious as to why you feel he isn’t one of the best in the hip hop genre.
diego fernandez at first I loved Cole, he was the artist to get me into hip hop, however as I explored the genre more and more I realised that he doesn’t really have a unique/trademark style. Artist I consider GOATS like MF DOOM, someone who portrayed himself as a villain throughout his career and was notorious for his incredible rhyming and deep voice or Kanye, a product of Jay Z who’s known for keeping his listeners on their toes whether it be with his antics or his constant stylistic change, both have their own sound and goal with their music. I’m not denying the fact that Cole is a very talented lyricist I just feel as though he doesn’t bring much to the genre and could easily be replaced.
Dan Lavis sorry for the late reply. Honestly tho... yes, he doesn’t have his own sound. He doesn’t follow what’s popular and does his craft based on the story he wants to share. It would be the same debate as if we were in the 90s... who was better BIG or Pac... BIG was the greatest MC of the time. PAC tho... he was a poet. He told stories in a way that it didn’t matter if his rhymes and flow were simple. He engaged you and caused emotions to come out and be relatable that made you over look it. It’s the same with Cole. Sticking to being a true artist. Are there better MCs out there? Sure. But there’s a reason Cole is what he is.

I'd love to hear a reaction to Kendrick's Keisha's Song (Her Pain)! I think it's a criminally underrated song - the cadence and alliteration on that particular song is groundbreaking, and the subtle finger snaps throughout the beat are honestly genius. Subject matter is quite heavy though, similar to "Brenda's Got A Baby", which I believe Kendrick was attempting to emulate (he even name drops the Tupac song in his lyrics). Section.80 is Lamar's most melodically pleasing album imo, and on the whole it is a complete journey from the first track to the last.
The project is mainly about his friend but also has some similarities to Coles own bring up. This song is so powerful especially at the end of the album. great reaction.

No, J cole wrote the album himself. The whole album isn't even about his friend. She's mine, foldin clothes, etc. All had to do with J Cole's life. Every single song on the album (including this one) was written by J Cole himself
I think you need to listen to the album again
SamP321 The Album was written by J cole, his friend was a drug dealer, not a rapper.
John Cho a good portion was about his friend though. Both Cole and his friends life.
"Some people call J Cole boring" 😂😂 best reaction to that ever

Jordan Williams Please this is a must listen
They should do that with "Made Nas Proud"
Nas response song to it is amazing too
Jordan Williams yeah if y'all ever react to that song. The song nas didn't like was "Work Out" Coles 1st real radio hit. Jay z wouldn't let Cole put out his album if he didn't make radio music.
The biggest facts
React to J. Cole - Once an Addict
It's a very emotional track, he's talking about his relationship with his mom, and how he regret that he didn't help his mom at her worst time 👌
the last 4 songs on that album we're hard hitting as fuck

Keisha's song is another great story, told by Kendrick Lamar

Keisha's song will be great because it will give them more context on Dying of Thirst which they've already reacted to.

Amazing song
The way you guys feel about him is literally the way I feel about him as an artist. He’s amazing
J Cole was influenced by 2Pac growing up and Pac was a great storyteller in his raps, just like how Cole is today.
ModakPellow Kendrick was most influenced by Pac, like most east coast kids Biggie most influenced him though naturally pac did as well
StephySon j cole has said Tupac is his biggest musical inspiration, he likes biggie too but pac was his favourite rapper
StephySon im talking about Jermaine Cole tho, this is a video about J Cole, not Kendrick Lamar, so why bring him up?
StephySon and what does Kendrick Lamar being inspired by Tupac have to do with j.cole being inspired by tupac..people can inspire multiple people...
