How come the Teen Spirit introduction is cut?
Kurt's voice and energy were in top form here, folks. The whole band were on some blinding, dynamite-level shit.
I saw them 9 months later in Australia when they were HUGE! As awesome as it was there is still the passion 100%
I’ve never hear a better Cobain live vocal for energy and nailing it.
The elixir of rock in the world and people dont realize it at the time i think
This year has been amazing. They rose from the ground to the top. In one year. Whatever you can say about this year is not enough. It's a pity that this passion was lost later.
honestly listen to teen spirt after 44 its sounds crap
D-7 sounds like it came straight from fucking hell. Just incredible.
The echo effect sounded sick
And it went straight back...with him 😈
Now, I would've loved to have seen Nirvana before they made it big. That's the best time.
It was pretty cool! (I saw them at the Casbah in San Diego and opening for Dinosaur Jr in Tijuana).
But you know what? The next big band is playing the clubs right now and no one knows it. Your mission is to go to the clubs and find it.
@@ttarris I know your comment is 3 years old Ted. But thank you for that comment!
@@omgnoob89 now it's 6 years old and yours is 3 lol
Great piece of music history taking place!
I watch all of your nirvana covers they are amazing and please keep doing them
hey man
The energy is unbelievable my god this is exactly what we need now
Think about it. At this time, nirvana wasnt more like a underground band, known especially in seattle and some european countrys (like u.k.). Made some tours but not big in the game. Depending on this aspect, a lot of good bands all around the world could be find in the underground. Not nirvana, but unique, indipendent and great acts. In times of the internet you can use google etc. for searching labels, bands, etc. to find stuff you like. Go sponsoring them to get them a little bigger or just that they can release new songs. The thing with mainstream music nowadays is, that the usuall music-consumer of the masses doesnt want to hear angry screaming, self-hatred guys. People want to hear feel good music, they dont want to think about problems in the world, around them, in societys etc. at least not through music. Like a lot of people say, nirvana was much better in the underground, Kurdt Kobain was healthier, happier, didnt have to marry a witch like CL, and didnt have the pressure from a big label (although he wanted to be on major, but i think he was, despite his great musical carreer plan, also kind of naiv in the way of thinking how labels will have influence on and power over him)
Never seen Verse Chorus Verse played live before! Sounds great👍
I worked here, this is precious footage.
First live performance of Smells Like Teen Spirit at 44:10 and he's actually enjoying it
This is before the release of Nevermind in September. I distinctly remember watching the video on MTV at my grandma's apartment in Salinas when I was 11.
@@FlareGunDebate Also before the recording of Nevermind.
Nirvana's absolute ferocious peak.
I saw them on this tour and lost my mind!
This show looks like the Smells Like Teen Spirit video come to life
I was 11yo living in Corvallis OR when this show happened. We used to get The Rocket and read about shows like this and wish we could be there! By the time I was playing music in Seattle, the earthquake had shut it down, now I'm watching this and still wishing I was there!
You can really tell they just wrote Teen Spirit...
I don't think you get it buddy.

@@samuelalexandre9934 I don’t think you get it buddy.
I don’t care what ppl say but he was the best at screaming. So raw and powerful!
Who else?
@@kirstingerson7672 Layne
He's 1 of 1 in that category. No one screams like him.
@@jtballnuts and chester .
Check out THE WYTCHES. The singer Kristian Bell is also an amazing screamer
Best band ever, we will listen them forever!
15:41 Putting all his pain out in that scream.
I like to think that Kurt wasn't in pain during these times, until Nevermind got mainstream
@@floatyjam Well, sort've. According to many sources according to Kurt, Dave and mutual friends, Kurt was really poor and living in a lonely broken down apartment barely able to pay for much.
@@floatyjamKurt was never really happy, but yeah things got worse in 1992
HOW THE FUCK does he scream like that (d-7) and still have a voice by the end of the show.
Kurt was something else mang
and a month later they recorded the greatest rock album of 1990s ...
This was before, a couple months before
@@user-eq7zq6so3j this was April wasn't it?
@@expresso8264 yeah
This show was on April 17, 1991.
Nevermind was recorded from May 2 to May 28, 1991.
Nevermind was released to the public on September 24, 1991.
I love this show so much, my favorite pre ‘93 show and Chad isn’t even drumming - My God! The original smells like teen spirit vocal line done live is a real treat. Love it.
I came to listen & watch this after Krist Novoselic mentioned it on an interview, the 1st time they played Smells like teen spirit at the O.K. Hotel. I was not disappointed! I enjoyed it all!
i love how much energy this video has.. Pure Punk ROCK
Kurts voice was that of the Gods 👑
i dont think i had ever heard verse chorus verse live, thanks for the upload.
Blake Schwab
I didn't hear it.
@@KeckArmy Because it's the ”other” Verse Chorus Verse, not the Sappy one, hehe. I get confused each time when i think i'll hear Sappy when i read Verse Chorus Verse in a set/tracklist, because of a misunderstanding of the names of 2 different songs, who shared the same name, at different periods i guess.
They really deserve more credit for the artists they were i always respected that they were pretty mellow for a rock group to just awesome chill dudes who made great music
50:02 when the dude yells out No recess!! And then School was next, he knew his Nirvana
Great find, thank you so much for posting
first ever smells like teen spirit live performance
His way to sing transfer energy ....to me
"School" performance was so brutal that after "you're at high school again" the mic got so saturated that the pitch went up
Wow, rare video, 1st time I see it! thanks for sharing :-) Kurt full of energy! On the other hand, people are crazy, I love Kurt's voice, Dave excellent as always and Krist awesome.
He also played slts happy in 31th December 1993
so grateful to have been at this show!!!
You are so lucky!❤
So this was the gig they booked specifically to make gas money for the drive South to record Nevermind. Pretty cool
East
about a girl fantastic performance
thank you for showing me this martin.🖤 if you ever see this, i’m so glad we can bond over nirvana! :’)
I couldn’t imagine screaming my lungs out like that, on pitch, every single night
Does anyone have this show's SBD / monitor audio? I had it back in 95 through the old usenet traders circle, it was on cassette and not any of the boots at LN. I am convinced there is a soundboard or monitor mix for every live show from at least early 91 / when they signed with Geffen. This is an epic show, thanks for posting.
I wanted a SBD of this show, but unfortunately do not have, thank you
It has not surfaced on the internet yet
it,s awesome
You my mind
Verse Chorus Verse
This was the warmup Gig before they recorded Nevermind in May1991 in just two weeks. Kurts voice is energy in its purests Form. Like a tiger jumping out of the Cage and screaming for freedom. Great! Dig me dig me yeah dive in me.
Kurt look so happy
Wow thanks. Had never seen that. Great to hear lots of Incesticide songs and the crowd was wild. Glad the cameraman made it out alive.
J'adore ce show il est excellent avec la voix puissante de Kurt c'est top et le show est très énergique ! et le setlist est variée avec des chansons rares comme verse chorus verse et Turnaround très peu joués en live
21:40
Guy: "Fucken rad!! Your band fucken RULES, man!!!"
Kurt: "You're embarrassing."
😂
I love Kurt and his band. Thnx for existed man
I really love the sound of that microphone for some reason
Kinda hard on the eyes but damn I love it. Perfect imperfection. So good. The energy when they start playing Love Buzz is awesome. Kurt looks like he actually enhoys it . Thanks for this.
Love buzz was amazing
Hi, Treecko!
Fuck yeah. The energy during this song was amazing.
the crowd went insane when DIVE played... thats exactly how i remember it too... it was that tune more than sliver that made me think this band is really gonna do some shit
I've always loved Dive, one of the highlights of Incesticide
at 29:35 Dave starts the beat from a song called Libido by Naked Raygun, & Krist attempts the bassline, for a few bars... then he starts Wild Thing which Dave joins in, presumably while Kurt is tuning, talking to the sound guy about levels or some other technical thing..
It’s Louie Louie but Krist makes a joke saying it’s wild thing because they nearly have the same notes as one another
Being from Seattle, we were going to the O.K. Hotel for shows during this time period and saw so many bands but don't remember seeing Nirvana there. Then went to jail for awhile a few months after this show. Missed Nirvana blowing up.
Thanks for uploading these ! I think I might have been at that show.
+typ44 quattro :)
typ44 quattro dude really???
Gettin Radd & Fuggin Bustn you would remember if you were.
Truly, you would, because i was. I went to high school in downtown Seattle from ‘88-‘92. I WAS at this show…
AGAIN, 👆 YOU’D REMEMBER. Just tells me you weren’t.
@@P_Tag Lol, reasonable to assume but I saw them around 10 times before nevermind along with tons of local shows, and I wasnt sober for 99% of them so a lot of them blend together.
17:40 The bouncer in white is definitely a fan…rocking out and singing along to Blew
What a gem of magic
Man, I really wish someone would invent a Time Machine and travel back to record some of these shows in HD 🙏🏻
Lolll camera man couldnt help himself when love buzz started kickin. And dont worry my boy it aint over
Thats wy Nirvana was soooo big, pure Energie.. And Kurt, what can i say?? He just give it all, no matter what... This is the Meaning of Beauty and Magic! There is nothing else matters, give everything, burning Flames from Heart, this is Nirvana, and thats why Kurt was the Front!
God Bless
I came from Dave's new book and was very thankful I did
Probably one of the few if not only times we see Krist finger pick 29:50
in chicago he hand picked the whole time
I had only previously seen the famous first performance of SLTS (which I love) from this, but it turns out this whole show was that amazing and raw, and I've heard and watched plenty of Nirvana shows. Really amazing. Right before they recorded Nevermind.
I really need a VR version of this show!
i need to be at this show😂😂
love him always
It’s surreal hearing Kurt play the opening to Teen Spirit and not hearing any reaction from the crowd whatsoever
Just 3 days before I was born...
That's an excellent setlist. Nirvana got a bit formulaic with their setlists in '91-94 whenever they went on lengthy tours. One off shows like this one show how experimental they could be, always trying new track orders.
I love how unpolished it is
Big Cheese with Dave is truly epic!!!
I love that he actually did the chorus harmonies, makes it sound so much better.
Cool set list.. they usually didn't play these songs
Incredible
looks like at the time of this writing, 6 people were in such a nostalgic euphoria that they accidently hit the dislike button
Lol yeah
It's not for everyone. lol I love it but I'm glad there are those who don't.
I mean, do you really want trump followers to love this??? lol NO.
It is the only concert where krist plays blew with the E string tuned one step down instead of half.
Chad Channing said in a interview he was at this show
Sure you can see him at the front
Nirvana never die ❤
I love this verse chorus verse
I’ve never heard it
Most scuffed nirvana recording lmao, I love it
This was definitely the happiest time for the band. Just three brothers traveling around the world playing music they loved and having fun. The second they blew up overnight it stopped being fun for Kurt.
they were not brothers
@@SillyGoofyWilly not blood.
@@russellschwartz3912 there we go
why doesn't it start with his live premier of Pennroyal Tea? It's on YT elsewhere (maybe different recording?) and it's incredible! Kinda mind bending to learn he premiered both songs at the same show the month before they went into the studio to record Nevermind! Can you imagine a version of Nevermind with Pennyroyal Tea on it?!
They did not play Pennyroyal Tea at this show, must be a different gig you're thinking of.
Their show in Kapu Austria has the most incredible version of Big Cheese on it, it sounds so good I swear it becomes one of their best songs.
The Kapu show has greats all around, Krist took over singing in Scoff when Kurts guitar broke which i always find really funny
Edit: also Krist had a neckbeard at that time.
@@owners4293 he looked pretty badass with that bandana over his face too
This show was a BLAST
good setlist definitely
Nirvana in best form! Like it period
Fun fact: this show was booked last minute so they could have gas money for the trip down to L.A. from Seattle to record Nevermind at Sound City.
First live of slts and Pennyroyal tea
Who remembers waiting to get into shows at the O.K. Hotel?
Great show. Cool to see. Wonder how they ended up playing at a hotel. I did also like when they played before this at Washington state and I think radio shack.
An almost perfect setlist IMO
Kurt looked healthy, happy and clean here.
como me hubiera gustado estar en ese momento
what a setlist
It's really cool to see that everyone are liking the music and not filming
This is like the only time they played verse chorus verse live
Best concert ever
26:56
chewbacca
10:22 shit gets real
Love buzz. Gets the people goin!
11:04 best thing ever
Feel like Kurt was doubting Dave for the backing vocals here, but he nailed them
Why was I born just a few years outa range to experience shows like this? It's times like this when I feel discontent for my parents.
8:10 almost made me cry it was so good
Wish I had a time machine
UA-cam is the closest thing to a time machine we may ever see
I was there.
Niceee
Early versions of some songs. Teen Spirit, f.e.
=)
With a band named Nirvana you knew they were going to be good 👍
