Hi, Bill! Thank you for taking the time to create this content. After attempting to come at this a number of ways (and being relatively new to audio)... I find that I am trying desperately to wrap my head around my question of: "What IS Vienna Ensemble Pro?" So, apparently it is NOT a single entity (such as a "Virtual Instrument" for example)... But is in FACT a hybrid Host/Instrument (Hive-minded/Parasite (instrument)). So the parasite(instrument) is attempting to be able to live and move from host to host, but dependent of the Hive Queen (VEP Server) in order to employ any of its functionalities?
If I use a mac as my main maschine and a windows pc as server and want to run kontakt from server do I have to install kontakt on the server? And if i do I cant use kontakt on my mac any more without using vienna ensemble pro?
Usa native acces on your windows pc to authorize your kontakt libraries on the pc and yes, you can use both, but you want to use vep to communicate between the two.
I know it's 2 years old, but apparently VSL don't do demo's anymore, unless you have a purchased and registered VSL product already. Newcomers are not welcome, and don't get to try their software before purchase. exit VSL :)

How Does VEPro work with Divisimate in conjunction with cubase?

hi, have you tried VEp with Logic? I have problems with VEP crashing using Sine Player instruments
I didn't really like Sine initially. Too many other good players to use. So of forced to use it though since Orchestral Tools changed their engine.

It alleviates processing from your daw and distributes it to VEP on the same machine.
@@BillMcFadden Wouldn't that just use more resources on the machine since it now has to handle running VEP as well as the DAW and VST plugins?

Once I add the instrument to VEP in cubase there is no "instrument" visible for me
You have to start the vienna server and add the instrument there.
