I've had these for like 12 years. The first model, which has two extra dip switches on the back for extra room and sound control. My friend had the HS8's at the same time and I remember he told me he thought the 5's sounded better. I was just poor and didn't have enough to get the 8's. Glad though, because I hate 8" speakers now they are just too bulky and huge. I'm thinking about upgrading the HS7s though but I'm not sure it would be worth it. I run these with a sub anyway.
What sub do you run with these?

If these are anywhere near as good as the HS8's then they will be excellent for the price. I used HS8s for years before upgrading and loved them.
