    I traveled to Dallas last year and got a couple of those seed balls I planted about 50 of them summer of last year and none of them sprouted I was wondering if I need to let them dry out for a period of time I have the rest of the seeds in my shed drying out I wonder if I'm doing anything wrong I did what you showed on your video but I live in south Texas, very close to Mexico would these trees grow in this area? I really love sycamore trees and really want to plant a few on my property any tips I should follow or suggestions?

      Hi Kronos, it really depends from the temperature at which you sow them. I would put some of them in a well drained pot filled with compost and perlite, keep them humid regularly but not soaked. To sprout they need a temperature above 68 F, below 50F they will struggle and freeze. Let me know how it goes. 💪

    Hello from Spain! One question, if I want to have it growing in a pot until it's mature enough to plant it in it's definitive place, jow long do I have to wait? One year as you were inquiring?
    How often do I have to transplant it? Any special nutrients?
    I'm really curious about this one tree!
    Thanks a lot.

      @@howtogrowfromseed I've heard that you can also reproduce this kind of tree from a twig, if you want to mention this in one of your videos.
      Thank you for your swift answer.
      See you!

      If you place the pots outdoors during the winter, in a cold country, you don't need stratification. I'm from Portugal and have never seen a Platanus sapling in my life.

    How did you germinate Platanus seeds such as American Sycamore and London Planetree? How did you germinate it? Which season did you plant? Do they need stratification in order to germinate?

      Hi Arifur, if you listen or put subtitle of this part of the video ua-cam.com/video/GOtOiCJZReQ/v-deo.html you will understand it. If you germinate in winter you need to do it indoor, if in spring or summer you do it outdoor. Is that ok? 🙂

      @@howtogrowfromseed Well, I tried germinating Platanus seeds in spring and summer in indoors last year like several times but they did not germinate at all, I tried several times last year. I mostly planted them in indoors during spring and summer. If I try to plant Platanus seeds in outdoors, they will still not germinate.

      @@arifurmollah4386 Have you tried to stratify them? It is a process called "cold stratification". Watch this video to understand how it works ua-cam.com/video/Tq6vKneLuY0/v-deo.html

    I have another question, where can you store Platanus tree seeds before planting them? Where can you store those seeds at? Where? I see that Platanus seeds do not need stratification in order to germinate. I would like to know the seed storage location for Platanus seeds before planting them.

    • @howtogrowfromseed
      @howtogrowfromseed  Рік тому +1

      The important is that you don't store them in a very warm place, also do not store them under the sun. That should do the trick. 👍
