@@SmallholdingUK Just the apples from seed at the moment here. Thousands of cuttings of others as we've been felling and saving for dedicated areas just waiting for the frost to lift in the next few days Oh if we have anything you want you'll just cover shipping :)
I think this was oct 22 so nearly 2 years ago, yeah they did well, I potted them on as they sprouted and then planted them out this spring I got about 130 odd if I remember correctly
Hi! Have you tried growing trees with the air prune method? Sean from Edible Acres has videos on it. I hope to set it up in my garden in the near future. I think you would like it, hence why I am suggesting it.
Do you mean air layering? If so yes I’ve looked at it it’s very interesting way to propagate plants I was going to try the pods you can buy at some point
@@SmallholdingUK Also, thanks for mentioning where you purchased your cobnuts. I've placed an order last night, I can't wait to receive them! Hopefully, I'll be able to grow a few trees, if not, at least I'll enjoy fresh nuts. Have a lovely day!🤗
They did well 👍 I did an update video a while back, I got about 150 hazels and 120 sycamore, I’ll be planting them over the next few weeks and I’ve got another 2kg of hazel nuts this year on the go
Don't do that you don't know what you will get, unless you are planning to try to create a new cultivar by trials and errors, your chances of getting a good cultivar is one in many thousands
I think hazels have been growing themselves for millennia from there seeds, I’m not a nut producer I just want the trees and wood I’ve got loads I’ve grown from seed and they are doing fantastically, I have done some by layering in the past but it’s incredibly time consuming to do the numbers I want
@@SmallholdingUK Ok you use nuts from Kentish Cob tree pollinated by common hazel, what variety you will get?, you don't know, wild hazel growing from seeds for millennia that is true but they don't produce the nuts we like, you better buy trees and you know what you are getting they aren't expensive, many people in youtube telling people how to grow trees from seeds, I feel sorry for people who grow apple trees from seeds expecting a pink lady to popup in their backyard
There from a nut farmer who grows them in rows and being wind pollinated I would imagine it’s highly likely they come true But like I said I’m not bothered I’m after the rods 👍
Bravo! 👍👍
Thank you
Brilliant!
Hope that they all grow well for you. You've created a beautiful holding, for yourself, your family and for nature. Perfect!
Thank you so much 🙏
Bought 2kg, hope they do as well as yours 👍🏻 Thank you for the videos
Good luck with them 👍
Cheers 👍
No problem 👍
Most interesting questions is
It need to bé grafted to make fruit how long it takes to give fruits ?
Hazels grow fine from seed with no grafting, time until you get nuts I would say my older ones took about 6-8 years maybe
Love it. Looking at making my own trays fir the likes of trees.
👍I love growing my own trees I just hope these germinate

1 year later. How did the sycamore seeds do?

👍
How did they do?
They did well 👍 I did an update video a while back, I got about 150 hazels and 120 sycamore, I’ll be planting them over the next few weeks and I’ve got another 2kg of hazel nuts this year on the go
Were you successful?
Yes they did really well, I did an update video in the summer on them, I got about 150 hazels and about 120 sycamore 👍

I think most people know apples don’t come true from seed, but I am in the middle of a video on grafting fruit trees
Thank you for your input, I mean that but I think your overthinking what I’m doing here, all this is just for my pleasure its not a business
