Those are Oetiker type clamps (also called "ear" clamps) and make securing the hose precise and incredibly fast. You won't struggle with clamp rotation or tool positioning by using them. You can buy assorted clamps and a plier very cheap online.
Got a tiny fuel leak yesterday and needed to tighten a damn host clamp, did the process of detaching the filter/regulator, but it got me thinking - this is a bike made for touring and how much do I NOT want to have to do anything to it on the side of the road. What were they thinking when designing it...
Nive vid mate! I bought a Sertao last year with 2000klms and just recently those hose clamps have failed, so I'm changing the regulator also just for peace of mind on a 2012 model. Keeps blowing fuel pump fuse which I'm hoping the leaking lines and regulator have something to do with that also as I have checked all wires and contuity and it seems fine.
Thanks for the video, I think mines of its way out as the bikes taking about 5 turned to get it to start but once runnig for couple mins starts on the button. Do you reckon this is a sign of the regulator on its way out?
Hi there I'm wondering at 21 seconds in the sensor on the right of your hand, what sensor is that? Mine doesn't have the cap on it and I was wondering if it's critical. Thanks
@@BigPezza Now that I `ve done the switchero I can`t get the damn thing started. Thinking, could I by mistake switched the hoses from the tank. The added fuel goes to the centre of the filter or.... how was it?
@@saabsafir6095 I guess you should try swapping the pipes around but remember the bike will take longer to start up again cause the petrol was drained and has to refill the system again
if its dripping replace the seal if its weaping then just check the oil before you ride. my oil is weeping a bit so i will replace the seal when i do a oil change later on this year
Years has more to do with them failing than miles . I had to change one on another bike a 4,000 miles . I don't ride very far every year so I had a 1998 year bike with only 4,000 miles on it . What happens over time is the junk in the gas fills up the filter and puts a coating that turns hard and blocks the gas from passing . At 4,000 miles the bike stop starting because it wasn't pumping any gas at all . I would go by years not miles . I think they should be changed every 10 years no matter how many miles is on the bike or 24,000 what ever comes first .
@@josiahurena8510 wow, that's crazy. although I'm stuck now having to pull my tank. Too many years sitting in storage, neck corroded, pump won't spin, fuel is black. Reading manuals to pull the tank. No way would I spend $1K just for the regulator replacement.
A basic service job like changing the engine oil and filter on this model of Bmw is an insult to any intelligent mechanically minded person. So many fasteners and panels must be removed in order to change the oil and filter, it’s just nonsensical.Typical of BMW.
I've gone 40k miles with the original, but that's why I'm now watching your video 🤣

If you remove the fuse for the fuel pump and start the bike it will de-pressurise the fuel lines.
it dose on the fuel lines but not on the pressure regulator

Hi Dear.. Do you think the oil dripping because of the seal? I have the same issue with my g650gs. Please let us know with the solution

24.000 you say..?…hum I’m on 65.000 miles on mine and have never changed it… :)
I'm convinced they make simple jobs more of a inconvenience so you shove it off on one of their over priced tecs
Just got a quote $1008 to switch this out
