Good pod. Thanks. Just wanted to say that Braydon said he prefers the lighter Slyce caps. One thing to note on that is that the plastic cap you are removing is .3 ounces on the ones I weighed after removing so the 1/2 ounce Slyce isn't adding very much. I think you need to go with the 1 ounce size to have something that you will notice.
the reload tech seems rad - but as you pointed out, there's only 1 option for paddle. no bueno but will be bueno once it's licensed and/or they have other models
I have not bought a bag yet. I did have a great discussion with them and was super happy to see they use methylcobalamin b12. I hope they add their formula into chew-able tabs for convenience
So. Hovenier wasn't technically a sub, because they had placed Thomas Wilson on the Injured Reserve list. Blaine technically counted as a player on the team. So they were able to trade him for money and since the waiver period was there then it was an easy drop. That means that Wilson is gonna be back by October 14th in the next MLP.
I was interested enough to pull up the Revolin Revo hybrid.. but then Insaw they only have standard and elongated shapes. Why are they calling it a hybrid if it is not a hybrid shape? Also, good job on not putting labels, etc on your tungsten tape. I bought some recently and, along with supporting your work, that was one of the primary reasons I bought your tungsten.

In regards to speed caps and balance point. Where do you want the balance point to be? I’m assuming higher means heavier in the handle and lower is the opposite. Each probably has specific impact in regards to how it plays. Can you explain?

Listening to UA-camrs bicker about how they aren’t being compensate enough to shill reviews is always a good time. They never consider the fact that their reviews would be infinitely more valuable if they weren’t being paid to review products, which creates a massive conflict of interest.
The Pikkl Hurricane 14 comes to mind. Lightweight and 14mm but is a shorter standard shape that keeps it forgiving. Code 10effect on their website brings it under $150 too.
Seems like tennis and table tennis solved the problem of wear by replacing the parts that wear out … tennis strings, and table tennis rubbers (I assume blades don’t wear out). Reload is the equivalent of replacing the rubber, but pickleball paddles have plastic cores that also wear. Most of us watching your reviews change our paddles so often we really don’t know how long the plastic core lasts. 😂The paddle surface and core have to be replaceable … plug and play. A la carte … I will take core medium rare and surface extra crispy. For now, paddles are consumables … the tech is changing too fast. Only way I’m buying a $300 paddle would be with yearly subscription with new paddles with new tech shipped to you quarterly. Otherwise … buy fresh $100 new paddle spin every 3 months with any new tech that has come out. I restrung my tennis racquet every month … 3 months is a win. Besides … it’s fun playing with different paddles … until in that doghouse you mentioned.
I added the weight you suggested to my Monarch All Court and it really improved play for me. What do you think about also adding weight to the handle on this paddle?
I like the handle weight more on hybrid and elongated paddles since standard and widebody paddles have low balance points out of the box. There are some expectations though like maybe the Franklin Tempo, Engage Pursuit EX or the Proton Standards but outside of those I don’t think it’s needed.
Tks. I did add about a half ounce and it started to bother my forearm and elbow. I'm getting used to the paddle after coming from my dbd. Miss that half inch of reach so far. :) The Monarch with the weight on sides as you suggested, has more power and pop then the dbd and more touch.

No ha sorry for the confusion. Honolulu gives 25% commission rates, not discount code, to ambassadors/reviewers while most other brands do 10-15% commission rates. We were arguing if higher commission rates skew opinions too much on whether people give good or bad reviews of it because they stand to make more money from some brands more than others.

I think the reason why that Pickleball hasn’t looked at new and replaceable technologies because most of the things they create are incredibly wasteful and not able to be reused. Like maybe LDPE in some cases but it’s not like leather shoes where you can reuse again and I think in the cycle that we’re in of new paddles, replacing the old, it doesn’t really lean towards longevity of keeping the same paddle
That's a good take. Since every time you replace a paddle around 6 months you could get something new and different with how fast paddles and trends change. That will be a challenge for Reload. Can they keep up with the changing paddle environment and do their replaceable skins at the same time? Even still, brands, especially the larger ones, keep the same skus for years and if you had replaceable skins on them then it greatly improves the durability and reduces waste in the long term. I think that would be attractive for a good portion of the market who don't change paddles as often for one reason or another.
37:10 Because it's overpriced. The base paddle should be $100 and the sheets (a 2-pack) should be like $30. Also, I'd argue the patent is irrelevant because a company can just find use another method...it's not rocket science to have a non-stick adhesive peel. Also, other companies can do end caps...nothing proprietary about a chunk of plastic; all companies have end caps already.
