They've got FATE bosses that absolutely don't deserve it all over the place. In the Coerthas Central Highlands there's a hairy crocodile thing that was some Ishgardian noble's abandoned pet. On the other hand, on the other side of the road from that FATE is just a sheep with bloodlust.
What's funny to me is even though they didn't change the number of FATEs you need to grind, the fact they broke it up into 6/20/40 instead of 6/60 made it *feel* more fun to me?
During a Shared FATE party in Living Memory we spawned the mega boss of the area and that may be the most fun I’ve had in the game. I’m new to this version of the game (Shared FATE’s) and I hope this isn’t a one-off thing, as farming those large bosses could be a ton of fun
@@KeavyGoesLive well this is the third expansion to have shared Fates in this style so /that/ isn't a one off. i can't speak to how often fate bosses spawn though. i haven't had any spawn while i was actively grinding fates before though.
21:22 I am stoked for mentor dutys. I actually have learned a lot of mechanics from some of dungons because of you videos. So thank you for unintentionally teaching me about some dungons. Also I love puting them on in the background as I do things or play ffxiv.
Grats on getting the Shared FATEs done. My own achievement grind has been progressing. Right now I'm focusing on maxxing all of my classes; I have about 50 levels total before I reach that goal. Though as a side note, I did research where I can get some of my missing orchestrion rolls and was finally able to collect 500 of them for the highest "Leader of the Band" achievement. So I'm happy about that.
If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, the chocobo companion system needs a massive overhaul. They should be on par with trusts as far as utility and capability. They need more abilities, or at least new fresh abilities, and better AI for moving out of shit.
Agreed, setting your Chocobo to Defender to have it draw aggro/enmity yet the enemies still always focus target you is the dumbest thing. I almost always have my Chocobo on Healer as a result, sometimes on DPS.
probably yak'tel. i think both above and below are fairly beautiful, though i honestly really like all 3 of the beginning zones for diff reasons. yak'tel and then the south half of kozama'uka is a close second, i love the pretty pinks of the soil and trees :)
Choco on Free stance is Far better than Choco on Tank, You're gonna be tanking regardless, but at least the choco on free stance can both stun targets as well as constantly throw you a regen heal and occasionally a nice chunky heal to keep you alive longer. Choco's don't really AoE either, they only focus attack the target you initially attack until it's dead, then attack whatever target you are attacking until that's dead, etc etc (Also Fun Fact: non target AoE's wont trigger the choco to attack, you have to auto attack or use a direct target attack to get it to start attacking said target)
For next expac, something you can do to speed it up is do the first 1-2 waves of a killfate with a geared max level char, and then switch to whatever you want the exp on. Goes much faster, and you learn some really random stuff, like how paladin's Fight or Flight shares a cooldown with Astro's Essential Dignity.
Kentucky Fried Healer prefers to stand next to you by default, before casting any heals. Any movement will cause the bird to stop healing to move next to you again. As stated by others, companion AI needs a bit of an overhaul, or at least spend a semester in Kentucky Fried College.
6:30 yea and like it will take full 3 alliances 10 minutes to get him down to 2% and then he will use Living Dead and back to full health with 1 cleave
I'm close to finishing this, too! Gotta just do Yak'tel and Living Memory. I got caught up doing all the level 100 trusts and just finished the other day!
putting the chicken in healer mode usually lets me dps fate packs pretty easily, and for the final zone, try new game+, it'll revert and you can still do fates and hunts
Just after I finished picking up the B ranks I was still missing for some expansions' achievements I'm actually missing some rather easy ones still, I'm just lazy
I am currently catching up on the shared fate grind as well. Finished Shb sometime earlier this week and tomorrow I have to do the last 30 Ew ones. After that I will be tackling the Dt ones. My, it will be so nice being done with them. Still not so sure what I wanna do next...
Progress report. Lalachievements score 17,150. Another among many slow weeks. I picked up Reforged: Majestive Manderville Pistol from Poetics, The Customer Is Always Right: Kai-Shirr III while doing weekly custom deliveries, and both An Eye for Detail: Alchemist III and Threading the Needle: Adept while doing HW tradecraft leves and EW prototype crafting. Also, I guess I technically got For Eleven's Sake, but that's an event achievement, so it doesn't count.
I think the funny part of being Team Niche instead of Team Niche but being Team Herb instead of Team Herb is that one of each is French, but only one you chose was.
Team neesh/'erb here, also yeah tank bird falls off *hard* the second you escape ARR levels, they just can't produce enough enmity even if they were able to multitarget consistently (if ever).
I weep for MCH. Go back to level 90 EW? MCH shreds. The EW tweaks did a lot of work. Then DT hit and they basically just made battery management a chore at level 100 for optimal play and gave one additional oGCD. Now MCH is back to not keeping up at all as I still take it into PF extreme content because enjoy the stupid all different classes party buff ya nerds. Have considered pivoting to DNC though.
MCH isn't the lowest dps job, and idk why people think that. In terms of actual ndps its 5th lowest - Which is exactly where it should be for a job that has maximum uptime with no cast times, and no raid buff. The exact same place it was in Endwalker dps rankings. When you start to count for Rdps, it becomes the "lowest" when the other 4 jobs below it use their buffs at the right times, and with a group of competent people who actually utilize the increase properly. The job is in the exact same state it was in EW, and its exactly where it should be.
@@applejooce4856 Considering you should always be aligning your two minutes, that's a pretty big drawback. It's not unviable or anywhere close, but its the worst selfish dps thanks to the range tax, and when factoring their buff contribution, lowest of the ranged as well.
@@applejooce4856 MCH has one of, if not the overall lowest pick rate, and it's consistently an overall bottom performer in current savage and extreme tier. It's figured it wouldn't have a pick rate almost at all if it wasn't for the diverse class requirement to maximize damage in high end duty party formations.
Cannon ranged phys that has just a 1-2-3 and gives buffs from getting hit and getting vulnerable stacks, but debuffs if they greed and die. Won't happen but would be a fun class to be a greedy tank on!
Funny, I just started MCH and decided to watch this while levelling it up - namely having it playing during queues. And what do you know, you start by talking about levelling MCH. :D
I don't think the chocobos can maintain threat in DT content. I'm constantly out-aggroing it whenever I play a DPS job (with poor, unoptimized rotations), so I'm mostly doing DT FATEs on tanks unless I'm in a group. Also I do suggest using NG+ (for any chapter) to change the way the final zone looks.

Yeah in 8.0 we're going to have a zone where we explore a dead civilization's memories and then the end boss is the physical manifestation of some total loser's inner demons. It's worked for the last three expansions, why stop now?
Dismantle and Tactician is group utility, but I see your point. Machinists quite literally bring the boom in drills, excavators, a missile salvo, and more.
Because the job has no cast times, infinite uptime without regard of movement or mechanics - outside of acc bombs / look away mechanics. Imagine if Sam / Viper had 30y range, and never had to be in melee, or lose uptime from mechanics.. Yeah that'd be kinda dumb and broken. Its also not even the weakest job. In ndps its 5th lowest, which is exactly where it should be, when the 4 jobs below it use their raid buffs properly, with people who actually line their cds up into it, then it becomes the lowest on rdps, which again, Is exactly where a class with infinite uptime, and no cast times should be.
