9 speed chain on 8 speed 😂

This is not uncommon to install a 9-speed to 8-speed cassette. Even 11-speed can kinda work on 12-speed but indexing is more difficult to set up

​@@millsshumps1968in my particular situation, I tried to use an Shimano HG53, (9 speed chain), with an Shimano Acera derraileur and Cassette,(8 speeds), and I had problems, like chain jumps, in the smallest gears of the cassette. I had to return to the HG40 chain...
