I first got just a plain white one no electronics and after 3-5 months and one string change it is great. The second one was Vangoa Advanced 12 string natural front. After 2 months and no string change (too scared to do string change) it has been great. It sits out like all my guitars and has no real problems except it needs to be fine tuned every 5 songs or so.

That's my goal. My first purchase is going to be a Yamaha Pacifica because I had someone comment that the Pacifica would blow the Debut out of the water, so I want to do that comparison, then the MIM, then a USA made strat. I want to review an actual Gibson LP but the price tag on those is so high. I'll need to find one used, but I always fear I'll end up with a fake.

I just ordered on. $91 with a 50% off coupon = $45.50.. If I like it I'll keep it . If not I'll do a UA-cam review then return it or flip it. I think i got the last one in black so that will make it worth a little more. Catch ya' later Jayce
@@JayceAllanGuitar Thanks for the reply. I'm 74 & retired , and my channel is just a fun hobby for me and my reviews don't look very professional. My plan is to do a video on the GearIT and then do a comparison video with the GearIT and my Donner DJC-1000S.. HH Tele. Witch bye the way is a nice guitar and I got it for $108+tax
I paid $129 for mine in January, and I love it. Some have string buzzes, mine was the D string. Mine came with only 1 string tree, adding another didn't fix the buzz. I put a set of Musiclily brass barrel saddles (6) on it and the buzz is gone. I have intonated it and lowered the action; the neck plays great. I love the ss frets. The neck has a very flat radius, greater than 20" and plays fast for me. The only thing I plan to change now is to put a better pickup in the bridge. I've been playing it more than my Schecter, Gretch or the others in my collection. Here's what it sounds like with gain-stacking: ua-cam.com/video/J2dWpXzF6C8/v-deo.html
Ok so it's got a laminated top. So has a Gibson 335/339. It's a top loader. Like a Les Paul? It has a Tone control, so you can change the sound (and your amp has EQ). Intonation is a myth - you bend it out of tune when you fret strings. Why so picky, just because it don't have a top Brand name on it?
Ah, with all due respect. Intonation is not a myth. If it isn’t properly intonated you’ll never be in tune. I just did a setup on that Squier Debut I did a review on and it was not intonated. I did a complete setup on it and it sounds great. I don’t have a problem with these cheap guitars but you will need to do a minimum of setup on them.
All set ups are subjective.. how about a before and after and then talk about what adjustments you made instead of bashing the thing from the word go? It's not a Pro series guitar at that price point
I didn't think I was bashing it. It definitely needs work, and the point of the video is to show people what they can expect if they buy one. Some people may not have any experience with doing their own setup. And not all setups are subjective. String height yes, but a guitar that isn't properly intonated can be unplayable. No, I definitely didn't bash the guitar from "the word go". And I am working on a video that shows setup.
It's a poor craftsman who blames his tools. I've owned all manner and brands of Teles including Boogie Bodies, Fender USA, MIJ, CIJ and more, but I absolutely adore my GEARIT. Oh, and I have no friggin' idea how to pronounce it either. Who TF cares anyway?
You’d be surprised what people care about. I get criticized for calling the vibrato a tremolo. I get criticized for how I pronounce tremolo. Get criticized if I spell Squier “Squire”. And on and on.
Yeah, the fake yellowing on the neck isn't my cup of tea either. This guitar is certainly a problem child. I'm going to see if I can make it play worthy.

@@JayceAllanGuitar My apologies Jayce, you are correct. I was on the Amazon US website, but didn't realise that they've actually started blocking availability, on items that don't ship overseas. Whereas, they used to only say, "This item does not ship to your location" and didn't, actually, show them as "Currently unavailable" immediately. 😊
Yes it is. Quite a bit. In PontiacS defense Smudge, the average view time of this video is less than 5 minutes! So I assume a lot of people are skipping right to the sound samples.

It's very easy to blame "The Chinese" or even the consumer for this, but the problem is way more complicated and started a long time ago. Also, do a Google search for videos of the Corona California Fender plant, you'll see lots of immigrant labor, being paid $16 to $18 an hour to do finish sanding on a neck or body. Everything is done by CNC. Humans do final assembly and setup. Executives at Fender make 6 figures. So, pretty easy to scape goat people for a problem created by greedy corporations.
Problem is, if I do that, people won't know what to expect when they purchase one of these. The point of playing it right out of the box is so people see any issues they may have, and this guitar has issues.

got one of these ... cheap machine head tuners ... but... it stays in tune...amazing... the action was set too low so adjusted and plays fine.
I recently started putting my tuner clipped to the sound hole on my acoustic guitar. It seems to react faster and eliminate that delay you talk about.
That's interesting. I'll have to try that on my acoustic.
