I just love the choice of music you play it is so Beautiful. Not noise like some electric guitar riffs can sound like to my ears .. what a talent! Thank you!
Good morning from Florida! That's a nice looking and sounding guitar. I like the way the pick guard comes all the way down to cover the tone and volume pots. A really great deal for the money. Thanks for a nice bloozy start to my day! Dan, you are a true gem and thanks for the videography Leo. As always, a pleasure to listen...
Thanks very much Marky for watching and for your very kind comments. That's just the way Thinline pickguards are cut and I kinda like em too. We have a brother who is a city councilman in Inverness, Florida 😉👍!
Yesterday I ordered the Donner 39 Inch Electric Guitar, Seeker Series DST-400 Solid Alder Body Electric Guitar for Intermediate & Pro Players, Single Coil Split System & Tremolo Bridge, Bonus Bag, Cable, Strap. it was originally 289.00 amazon has a 130.00 Coupon With Tax it only cost me 172.00
the wife bought me my first Donner guitar DTC-100 for xmas (after your review) and i have to say the fret edges were perfect, i even compared the fret edge feel to my £700 Fender strat and it was just as good tbh..I suppose like in any company, you have employee's who are loyal and do the best job they can and others who are just there for the money and dont give a sh*t..but there is no denying that Donner guitars are batting way above what you pay for them 💪 I now have 4 Harley Benton's ( ST-20HSS, Fusion II HSH, DC-580, DC120 Electro acoustic), a Gretsch 5230T , a Fender limited edition strat and now the Donner..loving the look and sound of that Donner jazz, i need to buy more Donner guitars to add to my stable 🤣 another fantastic review from you guys..keep them coming, I absolutely love your truthful down to earth channel 😍
Thanks very much David for taking the time to watch and comment, we actually reviewed a Harley Benton DC-580 today as well which will be next week's upload. I had Dan do a comparison with my Epiphone SG 60's vintage. I think your going to enjoy it 😉👍!
I'm very much interested in reviews of this particular guitar. I ordered and received one from Amazon $219 Cdn plus taxes. I promptly returned it due to a crack in the finish. I am going to reorder once my refund appears in account. I must say that I sure did enjoy your playing here! I'm going to save and return to that segment of your video because it's a head turner. I luvvit no kidding!
Another Great video, I’ve been looking at those DJC-1000S Donner guitars for a while now (I have a DTC-100S and it’s pretty good too), it sounded great Dan always brings out the best in any guitar he plays!! Love it!! 🎸
The guitar looks cute. Nice sound as well. As always, I enjoyed so much Dan's playing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Like #18 was from me. Enjoy the rest of the week, Leo, Dan and your family!💗🌻
I agree that it is difficult to intonate six (6) guitar strings with only three (3) saddles. The benefit of the three (3) saddle design, is that when one string of the pair is plucked, the vibration from that string travels through the saddle and "resonates" its "partner string" on the same saddle, contributing to that "Tele-twang!" 😎
I come from a nylon-string, classical style background, so the ON LY thing that I do not care for about Fender guitars is that skinny, round neck! It feels like a broomstick in my rather large hands. I much prefer the neck profile of classical guitars, which have a "flat" spot back there where I can comfortably rest my thumb, while my long fingers are doing their "Spider Stretches." I know that a lot of Rock players fret chords with their thumbs' "over the neck" to fret the "low E" string. That is simply so foreign to me, I don't think that I could do it if I tried. Great video, fellas! 🙂
Thanks very much once again Benjamin for watching our humble videos. I (Leo) enjoy playing my nylon string classical guitar as well. I'm not very good at playing the guitar at all, but it is easier to play than any steel string acoustic or electric guitar. Much easier on the fingertips. So I guess in my case (just in my case) if I'm going to suck at something, then let's make it as painless as possible for all parties involved 😎👍!
I am sure that you do not "suck!" And this is a reminder for all of us who play music as a "hobby," for our own enjoyment, our family and our friends and neighbors: Do NOT put yourself down. If you are "not as good" as a professional musician who has done nothing but perform music since they were in kindergarten. Think of what A small, sheltered life they have led compared to you. For example, I have not played Carnegie Hall nor Wembley Stadium. Sorry, but I was kinda busy: running my own consulting and handyman businesses, acting as quality assurance manager for a food plant and packaging company, working as a quality engineer for TDK Corp. of America, working as a lab technician for Baxter Healthcare Corp., entomological laboratory technician for my local mosquito abatement district, running the "Den" snack bar and game room at our local swimming pool, salesman at a Magic and Costume shop, paperboy, lawn are and driveway clearer, Lumber Sales and Tool Repair Technician at The Home Depot, Salesman and cashier at Pier One and finally, cashier and cart attendant at SuperTarget. Great guitarists do NOT have this "worldly" experience. "Slash" of Guns 'N' Roses says that he plays his guitar for twelve (12) hours per day. Assuming that sleeping and eating and personal hygiene take up another eleven (11) hours, that leaves him only one (1) hour per day to socialize with other human beings (e.g. his family and friends.) One of my favorite guitarists is "Preston Reed," he is an amazingly innovative player. He plays with his left-hand "over-the-top" of the guitar, while using his right hand to "play the drums" on the body of the guitar. Truly a site to behold and sounds to enthrall. But, when he attempts to speak to the audience between tunes, he sounds almost retarded due to his almost total lack of any socialization. It is clear that Preston spent an amount of time alone with his guitar that no normal person could, nor should.
I hope I can jam as well on mine as you just did here. 😊 I got mine on the last black Friday deals and paid about the same. Even for a novice like me, she still sounds pretty. Though I changed out the tuners, and put a set of those Billy Gibbons Mexican 7ga strings on it.
Oh on the tuners, I didn't like the open slot top machines, it was just too hard for me to get the strings in and wrapped in the windings. So I got a modern set with holes in the post.
Old bass player thinking about learning to play a 6 string. Got this Donner on sale for $114 - cheap price for beginner guitar that sounds pretty good (I know, sounds like you can make any guitar sound amazing...still, I'm gonna try it out) :)
Walmart just brought mine, holy smokes! The pickups are amazing. The whole thing's more than okay but my gosh 😮😮😮😮😮😮 $110??? Golly... Headstock shape could use some rehabilitation but I almost don't care. (And I had enough mazuma left over for a tortie pickguard, ha.)
@mck1972 I'm pretty sure we were still using the Fender Mustang GT 100w modeling amp. We are using a patch called "Boosted Brit " unmodified from the factory settings. We're now using a Fender Mustang LT25 modeling amp that Dan has tried to recreate that same patch as best he could. Thanks for watching and for your kind question 😎👍!
