    Here are a few Pidgin expressions and their English translations:
    No vex - "I'm sorry", "Do not be offended"
    Abeg (I beg) - "Please"
    Wetin (pronounced like "waiting") - "What is the matter?"
    Oga (used mostly for men) - "Boss"
    Madam - "Female boss"
    How far? - "How are you?", "How is it coming along?"
    Pikin (from the Portuguese word "pequenino" meaning small) - "Little child", "kid"
    Show - "Come around", "visit"
    I dey come - "I am coming"
    I dey go - "I am going"
    Wetin dey do you? - "What is the matter with you?"
    Who dey house? - "Who's at home?", "Anybody home?"
    Fear catch me - "I was scared"
    I dey fear/ Fear dey catch me - "I am scared"

I love the both of you so much for showing so much interest. Love from Namibia!

    In this context, "End-Time girl" refers to a girl who is wicked and intends to record him in order to use his image or face for negative spiritual purposes.

    • @nenitafrica6851
      @nenitafrica6851 4 місяці тому +3

      You are wrong. The End time Girl is just a sentence he is quoting from the bible. End time is a time of Godlessness. A perilous time when people are being lured to sin. Women will by themselves go after men. A time when righteous are being tempted. A time people won't be trusted. Calling her end time girl simply means she is the kind of girl the devil is using to bring iniquity to the world to the righteous

      @interestingthingstoknow8975 4 місяці тому +3

      @@nenitafrica6851 No, you're mistaken in this case. You overlooked my words carefully. I specifically mentioned "in this context." It's clear that the man she was speaking to used that term because he believes she might exploit his image for spiritual harm.

    You need to use pidgin in your everyday conversation to remember some words. You do not need to speak a full sentence in pidgin, just mix it with a few words. You are doing very welll (Una dey try).
    I used to only speak pidgin fluently with my grandma but now with my dad who actually lives in New York. I live in London and try to speak to friends back home in Nigeria but most speak proper English.
