Get a shot gun that come with (two barrels) field barrel and rifle barrel. It’s almost the same price and you can do more special if you deer hunting and others big game.

Yep i agree for a starting hunters baseline. 22, a shotgun, high powered rifle coveres most anything in North America. Though their are different setups for different game, or if you want to save hides for resell their are better calibers for both setups. Then you go into a variety of learning what different bullets and styles to choose from to get the desired results.

Great advice with the optic setup, had a kid recently at my family’s little makeshift private range and he bought a savage axis in 22-250 for coyotes, a cheaper but definitely capable gun, well he bought an $80 scope for it and my lord it was a POS, it was 3 ft high to start, so we dialed it way down and it shot higher, so I told him to look in the scope while I dialed it, and the gears weren’t catching for one, and when they did up was down and down was up. Absolutely junk! lol

Haven't even watched the video yet, but a Ruger 10/22, a 12GA Pump and a .270 bolt action.
If I had to pick one, it'd be a 12GA, good for anything in North America.

      Why a 10/22?

@@dualthreatoutdoors Small game, can even take deer with it if necessary, massive ammo carrying capacity, 10 rd mags, light, compact, relatively quiet, cheap.

@@YankeeWoodcraft but can’t the 22 LR or 22 mag do the same thing?

New subscriber. Your cargo trailer conversion brought me here. I've watched your video from six months ago. Any more updates? Obviously, I'm interested in starting my own project with a similarly sized trailer I own.

My personal opinion ive got 20 gage that does it all as for rimfires i have several but would go with a good 204 over them anyday keep the plinkers for plinking now for my area of the world a 243 is plenty of rifle you can argue out west you need more which i agree something to to remember the first so called survival rifle was chambered in 22 hornet the advancement in 22 has came along way but im not going to put my life on the line with a rim fire

If only 3 guns I agree. Those will do the job of putting meat on the table, congrats from Ky.

With you on the 30-06 and 12 gauge! .308 is a close 2nd. Just curious though; why a 10-22 over a 22 mag or 22 LR?

The 10-22 is chambered in 22lr, and the model name is 10-22.

My grandpa had a 1100 and a pump 22. We couldn't use rifles back in the day in Indiana so I don't think he owned one

Add some sort of handgun to that list. I carry a .357 magnum snub nose while hunting. Lots of wolves where I live.
