Aloha from Hawaii Harvey Spooner and THANK YOU so much for this video because my daughter had the same problem with her 06 Corrola and BAM! your video helped me fix it for FREE!!! Thanks for taking the time to help others like me in Hawaii!!!
Well that made things much easier. Customer hooked the jumper leads backward and popped the main fusible link. New fusible link block (expensive), start car, no throttle response. First video from a quick search was this one. Exactly what I was looking for, short and to the point, different Toyota, but same ETCS fuse. Thank you.
You nailed this Mr. Spooner! Just fixed my daughter's 2011 yesterday. This was the exact issue; blown ETCS 10 amp. Car runs perfectly now. Thanks for the video. jp
Thanks!.....I had already swapped TB with one off of blown eng we have in the shop, of course with no results. Opened your vid 1st, and 5mins later i had throttle response !...........thanks again for posting.
Well what made the fuse blow , Sometimes a dirty throttle body could set the code , but prob not blow the fuse . It should not be hard for a place with a scope to check out the throttle body and accelerator pedal sensor . Hope it stays good but i would suspect throttle body may be a issue at some point . or Faulty throttle position sensor, Defective accelerator pedal position sensor. I would do a wire wiggle test to see of a wire may be rubbed through and grounding out . I would have to look into that code for a Toyota to see if there is a common issue . As i do not get to many broke Toyotas here . Have you jump started the car
If the fuse is ok and throttle checks out along with wiring and grounds fine, then what could be possible culprits for this issue?I'm having this happen to my mazdaspeed 3.
Hello Harvey. I have a quick question I’m hoping you can answer for me. What is a 1987 Big red 250es worth in your world. Runs and drives good looks good all original with title and complete. Only bad is rear fenders are cracked. Thanks
I don't have the experience Harvey has but I currently own 5 atc's including one 250es so I'll toss in my opinion. Words can't cover it when you ask a question of value, one quick look in person would mean the difference of $1000 or more. I could tell if it's always been kept inside and cleaned after every ride. Has anyone ever been in the motor and is is covered in gunk? How much rust underneath and where is it? Is the inside of the tank shiny? Are any bolts rounded off? It goes on and on from the racks to the headlight wire extension. Anyway, I picked up my latest one about 2 years ago for $1300 and it was on one of Harvey's vids. Either the house call or the rats nest vid parked in my trailer. Right now without seeing it I would say $1500 if only small cracks are in the fenders. If it's really nice it might go for more but words or a picture won't tell the whole story. Good luck and take care of it.
Without seeing it someone could only guess. Your opinion on how it runs and drives would be different then mine since I've owned them before and still have one. Check out Harvey's vids on the house call and the rats nest, mine is in one of them and I paid $1300 for it. Compare that condition to yours and go from there. Good luck.
@@slickricktheruler I tried to be reasonable explaining the little differences between a nice wheeler and a great one. For the right machine the price goes sky high but I don't know what you heard or was told by others so I would tend to keep my numbers on the conservative side. Best of luck to you with the real Big Red, no matter how many other models have that decal on the rear fender.
I just want thank you, I was rushing to give my wife a jump no pun intended and connected the positive to the negative post on a 2020 Corolla. The engine light came on, I start getting LTA malfunction brake collision malfunction errors, a message to take the car to the dealership, the car stalled with a message reduced engine power. The internet experts will scare the shit out of you, with stuff like you just messed up the entire electrical system, you'll need a new computer that'll cost 2 to 3K. Replacing the fuse fixed it, I didn't even have to leave the driveway... Thank you!!
@@theOriginalGamester No I didn't have to reset anything, but every car is different. If you have a OBD you can clear the codes or just try disconnecting the battery.
Thank you I had to replace the 120 alternator fuse that you have to pull the fuse box halfway out and apart to get to. Then once I got it started I had no throttle found your video thank you. let’s just say my wife is never allowed to change a battery again I know she meant well but damn if the horn honks at you don’t keep trying to shove the battery Cable on
Did you test for Spark ?? Make sure the oil is where it’s supposed to be , check kill switch , key is on , out of gear , brake or clutch handle is where it should be ( sometimes the brake needs to be applied to start ) , gas is present and on and flowing ! Why the petcock ? Was the other one broken ? Remember SUCK ( fuel intake ) BANG ( fuel combustion ) BLOW ( spent fuel exits ) ! Spark , Fuel , Compression ! Any of those missing and we can find it !
@@davekimbler2308 it was clogged up and I had to take it apart and take out some of the gummed up rubber that was in it so it doesn't turn off and it constantly flows and I'm getting a new carburetor in Wednesday ifthat's not the problem I'm buying a complete wiring harness with a rectifier so hopefully that should figure everything out

Throttle body needs replacement if it comes back on
Thanks very much
Hi i already changed the fuse and i still got the code
What do you do if you cant fix it with a new fuse. You go put a new fuel line on the ranger and get back to business
One would think your car of choice would be.. Honda.
"S" is for system not "something" lol
Wow, this wasted my time
