    Excellent structured diagnostics. Your video was very clear and understandable. Approaching a failure methodically as you have done demonstrates the right way to go about it...thank you!

    Thanks! Your the best! Wish you were my mechanic instead of me having to troubleshoot and solve problems on my own… well not my own cuz you helped! 2098 Toyota Camry… still diagnosing… fuses are 👍 need to determine if there is something wrong with the security feature in the vehicle causing it not to rev or if it’s wire related… .problem: drove the vehicle everything‘s fine parked vehicle battery died replace the battery & the car will turn on but it will not rev up when I replace the battery the car alarm went off & I have a very cheap aftermarket key but I was able to get the alarm to turn off by putting the key in the door lock however when I went to try to start the car the one day the whole column is locked & the brake pedal & gas pedal were locked in place & my key would not turn… hammered out the bent key, straight key went in, turned in the column, the car turned on, no acceleration or revs given… any advice other then tearing the harness apart? Thanks!!

      Hey Jennifer! Thanks for watching. It sounds like a throttle body or wiring issue to me. I would start by getting a good key made first. Let me know if you need more help. Good luck! Also do you have a bi directional scanner?

      My car is having the same issue. What was the fix?

      This one was a first for me. Damaged wire inside an I disturbed wire harness. I’m thinking these problems are from the factory and take a few years to show up. Thanks for watching. How’d you make out?

      Are you able to do the tests in the video?

    My car is doing the same thing. Except its intermittent. The car will throw p2118 and will idle weird and throttle not work. Then eventually it will go away. The dealer replaced the ecu but it is still doing it. Could this be the answer?

    • @automotivated5934
      @automotivated5934  10 місяців тому

      Absolutely. If you can do the tests I did here I would highly recommend it. Don’t buy any more parts until you do. Haha thanks for watching Anthony!

    What tester are you using to read the ECM?

    • @automotivated5934

      Getting Robert thanks for watching. The scanner I’m using there is made by Launch x431 out of China. I wish the US made one comparable and similar price. That particular scanner is the x431 pad V. There are all different models. I got mine from Kingbolen on Amazon. Not a sponsor lol. And definitely worth my investment.

      You watch the whole thing? First time I’ve seen a completely intact conduit with a single corroded wire inside. You see the money shot of how easy it broke in half? It must have been like that from factory or shortly after. It looked like factory electrical tape and stuff though so that one was a first! Haha. Thanks for subscribing my friend! You post any videos lately? I haven’t seen any pop up.

      @@automotivated5934 yeah I always watch till the end. I think you're right, pinhole from the factory plus moisture in the conduit over time makes sense

      @@dirtyydeath that’s awesome man. Thanks for watching like that. Most people fast to the fix. It helps my channel with longer view times. The channel still growing slowly. It’ll take time! Lol. You can probably pause early on and look at the harness when it was still sealed. Let me know if you see something I didn’t. You or any
      Other viewer. It looked completely untouched. I could imagine someone building the harness nicking the insulation. Probably didn’t even realize it. But with 10 years of salt spray it will be found. Haha. You see anything I should do differently in the video? Or any improvements? Thanks again friend! Hope all is well for you!
