How do any of these places even pass a health inspection? More than half of these restaurants should have been condemned before Gordon even walked through the door.
I worked at a pretty dirty restaurant before and lots of health inspectors just don't care. The guy who would come out to the restaurant hardly looked up from his clipboard at all
Restaraunts that are out of the way dont get too many health inspections, health inspectors Do warn restaraunts when they come by, dirty restaraunts are more common then you think, Restaraunts in cities get more inspections but they can still fly under the radar, what dosent make sense to me why dosent heakth indpectors visit restaraunts that are failing

Then add that they were often failing partially because they were resistant to change, a majority would go back to their old menu and their old ways, not understanding that a coat of paint was not enough to save them.
My favorite thing about Ramsay on this show is how fearless he is. He just comes in the kitchens or anywhere dirty and just touches all the yuckiness 😂 I remember one episode,he pulled a piece of frozen meat from the freezer and it had something that looked like mold and I swear that he took a bite to see the texture,that just killed me. He always has to touch and smell all the gross stuff. He is a brave man 😂😂
After only a few years in a kitchen, especially if you're responsible for cleaning that kitchen, you'll get used to having some of the worst possible things imaginable on your hands. The best is when the delivery guy leaves the fish out instead of putting it in the fridge.

I grew up working at dive cafe's. Most of which have been torn down anymore. The main reason why these places still operate is because they pay off the health inspector, every single time.

I loooove anything with Gordon Ramsey, I recommend watching the 24hrs series, he goes under cover and in disguise to the restaurant to have their food and he usually is with a family, and the situations are always hilarious.

The thing with hand sanitizer is it does kill the germs, but doesn't wash them away like soap n water. And it dries out your skin. I think it's more of a substitute if you can't get to a sink lol
I can agree with what you said abt it drying hands out! I work at a hospital, and while you can use hand sanitizer between patient care - it is obviously better to wash your hands. I like to wash/lotion my hands after a few squirts of sanitizer.
Yep, plus hand sanitizer doesn’t work against all germs. And the bad part about that is for the germs that survive the sanitizer, the jelly consistency of it acts almost like a glue, binding those germs to your skin. So yea, definitely wash your hands unless it’s 100% not an option, and even then I’d suggest keeping your hands away from your face even with hand sanitizer. You don’t want some sneaky germs to be the reason you end up sick.

I was originally thinking to myself "putting non stick spray on a steak isnt that bad" and then i saw them coat some steaks like they were manning the soap spray at a car wash and i understood why it was in the title.
I can only speak for the fast food I worked at but it’s very common to spray the non stick on top of grilled items. But also tbf, you’d expect that from fast food, not a dine in restaurant.
@@Strawberrytarty Not just oil. Also typically contains an emulsifier, an anti-foaming agent, and some sort of propellant. The additives can sometimes leave behind a residue. Plus, the oils used are generally bottom-of-the-barrel cheap and unhealthy. Sprays on the market are all considered safe, but they're a bit more sketchy and gross than just oil. The worst part imo was that it was used on a steak. A spritz here and there to prevent sticking without adding tons of fat calories is good spray usage, but spray-painting an entire steak in foamy grossness instead of using something that will enhance the flavor like butter or olive oil was far from ideal.

Shared upholstery is a NO NO today, bedbug infestations are at peak heights like they've never been before, why do you think doctors' offices and other waiting rooms have such hard uncomfortable sterile chairs?

Everything that got stuck by the soap molecules are then washed away.
I worked in a BOP shop (giant hydraulic chuncks of iron or oil rigs) and Brākleen was THE spray for tearing apart and cleaning, and WD40 for everything else.
